  • 306

  • My mom met the drummer yesterday at her work place.

  • I love Kenny Shields screaming!!!!

  • First rock concert I ever attended - Streetheart - Yorkton Sask. circa 1980! It was a very big deal for this prairie boy!!

  • WINNIPEG in the 80's

  • Also this song mis called "Action" not Meanwhile Back In Paris, which was the name of the album this single was on.

  • I don't think it was disco that hurt Streetheart as much as two members defecting to Loverboy.

  • I used to catch them at a club called, "the Piccadilly Tube" back in the eighties. Good times.

  • @13thdog Hated that it closed.

  • Had it not been for disco all over the charts Streetheart might've had a chance to make it big here in America.

  • garage bands ..helix, queen city kids and streetheart...must be some awsome garages in regina...;)

  • PLEASE REISSUE THE 1ST 2 LPS ON CD SUCH FUCKING GOOD ALBUMS JAMMING THE SHIT OUT THE ANTHOLOGY IN MY CAR RIGHT NOW!

  • Oh yes and Kenny is still rocking.. I remember this lp it was awesome

  • Oh yes and Kenny is still rocking.. I remember this lp it was awsome

  • who can't like this, from regina, home town rocks

  • Ok, Look, Kenny, if you read this, please respond because I have looked everywhere for Meanwhile Back In Paris on cd...cannot find. If you have a copy...let me know, please, I rate that album very high in my top ten. Thanks Kenny

  • @foingzap Drop a line to Wounded Bird Records. They do reissues of out of print/never on CD albums from the WMG & Sony-BMG families (respectfully.) The URL is at woundedbird(dot)com. They do reply. I got a couple from them before. Just some food for thought.

  • Too bad they were "big" before MTV. They would've made it BIG. I can imagine their videos in my head, which is where they'll stay.

  • Kenny Shields, the master vocalist!!!

  • I think I might've heard this song on "The Boneyard" on Sirius-XM.

  • Great Canadian AOR track here. Did Streetheart have any Top 40 hit pop singles in Canada? Did "Action" chart?

  • @bucky468 Here Comes the Night and Under My Thumb were 2 huge covers they released that were huge in Canada. Tin Soldier was an original that was big. They had other good tunes that may or may not have charted nationwide but got plenty of air play in the west.

  • @NozBoyHux Was "Action" a big hit for Streetheart (did it even chart)? How'd the "Meanwhile Back In Paris" album do (in record sales)? I don't think it's ever made it to CD (at least here it didn't.)

  • @bucky468 I lived in Regina, which was their home base, so their singles got plenty of air play there. Don't know if they charted nationwide with this song but Under My Thumb and Tin Soldier certainly did. They had a couple of albums which were in the charts but I don't know how high they got. Under Heaven, Over Hell and Meanwhile Back in Paris were their 2 biggest, I think.

  • @bucky468 I have the first 2 albums by Stettheart on CD - got it out of Germany.

  • Streetheart, Rush, Loverboy, April Wine, Chilliwack, Trooper, Steppenwolf, Heart and Red Rider = The Best Rock Bands Ever........BECAUSE THERE CANADAIN!!!

  • @canadianmetalmaggot Leaving aside the fact that you've left out bands like The Guess Who, BTO and Lighthouse - to name only three - I can't resist correcting your spelling of "Canadian", a minor typo no doubt, and your use of "there" when you meant "they're" (a contraction for "they are".) And, while I appreciate and share your enthusiasm for Canadian rock bands, best ever probably goes to Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix. Just saying...

  • @canadianmetalmaggot

    Actually, Heart isn't a Canadian band...everyone thinks so...try Seattle

  • @MrShanky420

Yeah but they formed in Vancouver, so technically their a canadian band

  • @canadianmetalmaggot

Heart recorded their first album at Mushroom Studios in Vancouver...but they are American citizens.

I think it needs to be based on passports and where they live, not where albums are recorded....otherwise Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Metallica, the Cult and Motley Crue etc. would be considered Canadian.

  • I LOVE the screamin' way he rocks this out!! Awesome!

  • yay I remember these guys at the Norlander in WInnipeg !! woot, still pretty much one of my favourite bands. I look for them and their tour dates still.

    rock on

  • Thanks

  • watched this live in the norlander hotel circa 1983...fucking awesome

  • ohya doesn't get much better n still rockin yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Et oui!!! I was there (1978) at the, so call, ''Moustache Club'' in Montréal and later (1980) at the Spectrum... They had at this time conviced me to buy their talent. A superb vinyl album....Great moments....

  • HAIL...TO KENNY SHIELDS!!!!!!Myself and my four sisters always went to see him.....or them..........GOOD TIMES !!!!! BEVERLY CREST!!

  • @mcthirsty69 - beverly crest lololol......Edmonton :-)

rock city ahhhhh 4 for 1 tuesdays lol

  • I wonder how this song would've sounded if Mike Reno sang it for Loverboy. I hear "Turn Me Loose" & "Gangs In The Street" in this song which makes me think if Loverboy sampled this song for those 2 hits.

  • If Maroon 5 was playing this kind of music instead of what they chose to play we wouldn't be complaining so much about today's music. But I'm afraid we've passed those days. Man I miss the 70's & 80's when music was this good.

  • @bucky468 totally agree. These guys were ahead of their time. Just imagine a bunch of guys from saskatchewan...................

  • This is really good. How well did these guys fare in Canada?

I see where Loverboy got their sound. Paul Dean & Matt Frenette were in Streetheart. Man I dig this!

  • Hard to believe, but hardly anyone in America has ever heard of these guys. Luckily I grew up in northern NY and could listen to CHOM as a kid. This is one band we here in the States totally missed out on!

  • @Ranseler Definitely.... if Streetheart came out the US they would have been huge. Happens with so much great talent in Canada, unfortunately !!

  • @sn0wdream : Chilliwack , April Wine, Loverboy are some other bands played a lot on Canadian radio around that time... And a good time it was.

  • Love the vocals!.... Babe!

  • great underrated band

  • meanwhile, back in Paris

    I was embarrassed...

    Babe...

  • Reminds me of the time (I had fun)...still remember

  • @cawwin so do I , so do I!

  • I did a youtube rock night with some mates a few months ago and chose this.

    Canada rocks!

  • @NeuromancerJpn must have been a blast!

  • Saw Streetheart in Chilliwack B.C. early 80's. Sad don't remember much of the concert, Our local rock station plays them regularly!!

  • @69mobass lol!

  • first concert i ever went to was a blast

  • Was in Winnipeg 10 yrs ago and found a cassette of this album, which I still have and still playes great!

  • @vexacon cassette? wow I bet the kids now would say what's that? funny, but you still have a cassette player that's odd:)

  • @vexacon cassette wow...what is cool is that you have a tape player....that rules! rock on! only in the "peg" hey!?

  • seein them 2moro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is she your dentists assistant? By the way, I am thinking of changing dentists. Any suggestions?

  • What about the legs on the model on the album cover?

  • just an awesome tune ... does it matter where they got the baseline.. or guitar riffs .... just enjoy the music

  • a Winnipeg staple!

  • born in regina

  • I love this song but they stole the bass line from led zep's immigrant song during the bridge (2:55)

  • Comment removed

  • TURN IT UP!

  • high school memories best time worst times but in the end just memorable times

  • My big brother come home with this EP in the late 70's. My little brother and me promptly wrecked it. I be it would be worth Zillions now. Well. I'd pay money for it.

  • I recently blew the dust off a cassette I made in '78 from 92CITY FM, Winnipeg, Man. We lived 20 miles south of the border, in Minn. 30 YEARS AGO.... What I wouldnt give.... Oh well, Streetheart rocked! so did we....
