Ok, Look, Kenny, if you read this, please respond because I have looked everywhere for Meanwhile Back In Paris on cd...cannot find. If you have a copy...let me know, please, I rate that album very high in my top ten. Thanks Kenny
@foingzap Drop a line to Wounded Bird Records. They do reissues of out of print/never on CD albums from the WMG & Sony-BMG families (respectfully.) The URL is at woundedbird(dot)com. They do reply. I got a couple from them before. Just some food for thought.
@bucky468 Here Comes the Night and Under My Thumb were 2 huge covers they released that were huge in Canada. Tin Soldier was an original that was big. They had other good tunes that may or may not have charted nationwide but got plenty of air play in the west.
@NozBoyHux Was "Action" a big hit for Streetheart (did it even chart)? How'd the "Meanwhile Back In Paris" album do (in record sales)? I don't think it's ever made it to CD (at least here it didn't.)
@bucky468 I lived in Regina, which was their home base, so their singles got plenty of air play there. Don't know if they charted nationwide with this song but Under My Thumb and Tin Soldier certainly did. They had a couple of albums which were in the charts but I don't know how high they got. Under Heaven, Over Hell and Meanwhile Back in Paris were their 2 biggest, I think.
Streetheart, Rush, Loverboy, April Wine, Chilliwack, Trooper, Steppenwolf, Heart and Red Rider = The Best Rock Bands Ever........BECAUSE THERE CANADAIN!!!
@canadianmetalmaggot Leaving aside the fact that you've left out bands like The Guess Who, BTO and Lighthouse - to name only three - I can't resist correcting your spelling of "Canadian", a minor typo no doubt, and your use of "there" when you meant "they're" (a contraction for "they are".) And, while I appreciate and share your enthusiasm for Canadian rock bands, best ever probably goes to Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix. Just saying...
Heart recorded their first album at Mushroom Studios in Vancouver...but they are American citizens.
I think it needs to be based on passports and where they live, not where albums are recorded....otherwise Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Metallica, the Cult and Motley Crue etc. would be considered Canadian.
yay I remember these guys at the Norlander in WInnipeg !! woot, still pretty much one of my favourite bands. I look for them and their tour dates still.
Et oui!!! I was there (1978) at the, so call, ''Moustache Club'' in Montréal and later (1980) at the Spectrum... They had at this time conviced me to buy their talent. A superb vinyl album....Great moments....
I wonder how this song would've sounded if Mike Reno sang it for Loverboy. I hear "Turn Me Loose" & "Gangs In The Street" in this song which makes me think if Loverboy sampled this song for those 2 hits.
If Maroon 5 was playing this kind of music instead of what they chose to play we wouldn't be complaining so much about today's music. But I'm afraid we've passed those days. Man I miss the 70's & 80's when music was this good.
Hard to believe, but hardly anyone in America has ever heard of these guys. Luckily I grew up in northern NY and could listen to CHOM as a kid. This is one band we here in the States totally missed out on!
Shields still has it even today ! Cant even count how many times Streetheart played the local bars here in Winnipeg... Kenny ! See you at Joe's Garage !
My big brother come home with this EP in the late 70's. My little brother and me promptly wrecked it. I be it would be worth Zillions now. Well. I'd pay money for it.
I recently blew the dust off a cassette I made in '78 from 92CITY FM, Winnipeg, Man. We lived 20 miles south of the border, in Minn. 30 YEARS AGO.... What I wouldnt give.... Oh well, Streetheart rocked! so did we....

I don't think it was disco that hurt Streetheart as much as two members defecting to Loverboy.

I used to catch them at a club called, "the Piccadilly Tube" back in the eighties. Good times.

Had it not been for disco all over the charts Streetheart might've had a chance to make it big here in America.

Too bad they were "big" before MTV. They would've made it BIG. I can imagine their videos in my head, which is where they'll stay.
