yeah.. TJC USE to be cool. now we have to wear our student ids around our necks like prisoners or something. and theres not even a smoking area anywhere. and this school is now becomming a real rat-hole. im getting the hell out of here. i use to be proud to be a student here and to be a faculty member. now im ashamed of both. as soon as i can im moving to UT austin. and they need to get their fundamentalists out of teaching positions. this is a college. not mythology school.
If any TJC Drumline Member reads this. Could you help me find or suggest audition material. I know i have to have a lyrical etude or solo, a technical etude or solo, etc. Im just having trouble finding pieces. If anyone can help i would appreciate it!
This is Bass 5 from TJC's "Body Language". All I have to say is that Tyler Junior College is the place to do some drummin'! I grew up playing set in high school and the diddle-crew at TJC helped me in becoming a "World-Class" player! Check out other videos and you'll see that I also play tenors for their drumline as well! Overall, Tyler Junior College Drumline is where you want to be!
goodness I'm the one who posted this video and yet I'm still blown away watching back over this. It sounded clean all the way through in my opinion, and you guys were moving at a neck-breaking speed, and step sizes weren't exactly small either. I want to go to Tyler lol.
I'm Boomer man, the drumset player. I was noticing at the good friday rehearsal that a lot of the stuff was lining up a helluva lot better now. Now If we can just get the issue with the snares and myself sorted out...
Only one word can describe the drumset part. Badass. jk. I do agree with you though dribble, It was by the grace of god that the 7/8 part lined up. Personally, I think it goes better without the metronome blaring behind us.
That's was an alright run through. The 7/8 stuff in with the tenors wasn't as bad as it usualy is. Damn our bass player is a badass. I don't remember it bein that fast, good God we are movin around fast!! Good Job everyone!
Yeah that was the comment from most of my friends watching the performance with me, we all thought your bass player was just insane. And it was really really fast...basses were pretty much running on the floor lol.
Yes, the only reason we went to this tcgc event was to put the full show on the floor, and to get judged. we are going to the wgi regional in nashville march 29-30 so we needed to have a judges opinions on things we needed to fix and what we need change, or bring out. The judges gave us some really good comments. we know exactly what we need to work on for the regionals now. btw the score of this performance was 87.9.
Wow I'm glad to see all you guys got to watch it. I wish I could go see you guys play it in Nashville. I thought it was pretty clean all the way through, but you guys were on the floor, not me. Are most of the performers in this ensemble music majors?
I marched bass 5 during this show...and the step sizes were nice!

Um...I think that there are 7 or 8 of us who are. It was kinda clean but that 7/8 stuff usually never lines up but by the grace of God it did.

They were really good, but I don't see a point in doing it if you're the only one in the class.
