Wow watching multiple episodes of this will wreck the area of your brain responsible for rational thought. This stuff was invented in Canada huh? figures since they hardly have a creative culture anymore. Stupid, emotional, whiny teenage powers activate...sux so bad.
@RagnarLodbrok6 where does it say that this was created in Canada? This was not a Canadian series. Perhaps they filmed the pilot in Canada (like Party of Five, which was also critically acclaimed, the pilot was filmed in Vancouver but the rest of the series was filmed in the States.)...
Finally this crap is at least getting cut from youtube, because you got your other video's banned meanwhile I'm making troll videos. HAHAHAHAHA!!! The only place left airing this bullshit is the sundance channel and its run by paedo-freaks like the ones who I find annoying on youtube.
@RagnarLodbrok6 I think you must be mentally handicapped because this show was amazing and it was and is one of the only shows that accurately portrays teenage life. It allows you to get into the brain of a teenager and understand the thoughts, feelings and mindset that a teenager would actually have. So if you think this show was bad I'm afraid you're mistaken.
Yes I know right...as accurate as can be. Teenagers acting promiscuous and cheating on each other, having their teacher publish a dirty literature class poem that nobody was brave enough to own up to writing and then the little dumbasses start bitching and protest because the dumbass teacher rightfully gets fired. That and the romantic hero of the series is portrayed as a low iq dumbass who can hardly read. Your teeenage years resembled this huh? I feel sorry you then...
@RagnarLodbrok6 Well it's a show obviously not EVERYTHING is going to be realistic but scenarios SIMILAR to that could have totally happened in real life. It wasn't that he had a low iq it's that he had a learning disability which is something many teenagers struggle with...besides I don't see how that's relevant at all? I'm not saying certain episodes resemble my teenage life but the plot and storyline as a whole is something kids can relate to.
Sure kids can relate...if your only taking about kids who are losers or furfags who don't have much of a life. Gosh I hate furfags...they should all burn in their gay looking furry animal suits.
@RagnarLodbrok6 I don't even know what you're talking about buddy. so yeah, I'm gonna go enjoy this show and you can continue hating furfags whatever the fuck that is....
Snuffy Walden's music is AMAZING ... especially when the "main theme" kicks in at about 1:00. It is the perfect complement to this incredible series (which I never got to see the whole of).
This was such a bloody great show! Even though it only lasted on season it left an impact on a generation. It was definitely ahead of it's time and a precursor to all of the teen dramas that became big in the late 90's and early 2000's. No other show on television has been able to so accurately portray the way teenagers are. Teens these days have garbage such as Gossip Girl, Jersey Shore etc. yet even the earlier shows (Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, Buffy etc.) don't hold a candle to MSCL.
Best opening sequence for a TV series ever! Never again I saw a sequence so well shot and realized as this one. Oh wait, yes i did. It was the second episode of this very same show. Oh well... Nuff said-- 8-)
Remins me of growing up around this time in the mid 90's in NYC....Bumming quarters from people outside a phone booth for philly and dutch money.....ahhh the days....
"I can't look at my mother with out wanting to stab her repeatedly" lmao and did she say her hair is Crimson glow? and did her dad just mention Axl Rose^^ I love this show!
I never watched this tv show but I remember been so young and all the magazines talked about the "amazing new show". so now at my 28 years old I really want to watch this piece of art.
i know what she means about how your best friends expect you to be a certain way and if you change they're like "why did you change" it can really hold you back
I remember watching this show when I was 19 and appreciating the fact that these characters didn't have a simple, easy life and they went through heartache and pain, just like the rest of us (and things weren't always solved in the 60 minutes in the show). I love this show...so...much..... :)
Indeed. The writer states however, that this Patty we see is through Angela's point of view and mostly how Angela perceives her mom to be... Greatest tv hour EVER....
The show is available in US, Uk, Australia, Germany and France, so there should be a big chance for you to purchase the DVDs somewhere. The Pilot was shot in 1993, the show itself in 1994!
I highly recommend the US DVD box, including a bonusdisc, audiocommentaries, interviews, press conference etc and a great fanbook.
The show itself is stunning, I´ve never seen a drama that good. I simply love Patty and Graham!
There was only one season :(.. It aired in 94-95 but the pilot was shot in 93.. You can purchase just about anywhere in Canada and the US, I bought mine at Best Buy but they also have it at Future Shop and HMV.
i'm glad jeans like that went out of style. i'm ashamed to admit it, but teenage girls over the last 10 years are waaayyyy hotter than my generation. clothes and hair are more flattering. style is just cooler... more layed back. the 80s and 90s were soooooo snotty. fuckin terrible. then the skate wave started backing value village etc, and it was an equalizer against the 20-year-old standard that clothes were only cool if they were expensive/trendy and had big labels to prove it.
I never understood whether Angela's parents were supposed to be sympathetic characters or not. I wanted to punch them at fifteen, and I still do at thirty. What narcissistic fuckwads.
this show helped get me through my senior year of high school... an absolutely beautiful, amazing show. they took the thoughts right out of my head and put them into the character's lines. they don't make tv like this anymore.
Ah, sorry for getting defensive with you. I did not understand that you meant it as "humorous" and not "strange". Yes, I found that the beginning of it was pretty funny myself. It's just that your comment immediately following that was about clothes, so I assumed wrongly. I apologize for that.

I think it's gross too, but as I get older I think it's something guys can't help checking out any female who's half-naked. Do you know what I mean? And it's not like he wants to see her like that... He asks the mom to ask his daughter to cover up more.
lol @ "Support My So Called Life and buy the DVDs", for one, the show's canceled and over 10 years old, so there's no need to support it and second, you uploading the episodes on here aren't really helping the show.

Leto85 2 years ago 2
How does it "look funny"? It's not old at all. Kids these days....
aurayon 2 years ago
The way the girls are reacting to the camera in the beginning. That was funny, because it sets up emediatly the tone for the rest of the movie.
Because of the clothes I thought early 90's. But who knows, fashion repeats itself sometimes (you know: 7o's look, 80's look, why not 90's ook)?
Leto85 2 years ago
It's not "funny", it's just different. (like it always is, from decade to decade.) And yes, early 90's.
brelynhall 2 years ago
To find someting funny is a opinion, and in this case it is my opinion. Maybe I should have type that, instead of it is funny like it is a fact.

brelynhall 2 years ago
It's oke. I already saw you misunderstanded me. So I take the time to explain it.
Watching the clothes in a serie is for me a way to see in which time they lived. My opinion of if I did like the clothes or not wasn't a part off it.
If I was 12 or so in the early 90's I think I would watching this serie. But I was just to young.
