An early experiment in artificial intelligence. this experiment was, as you can see, a total disaster. It is a good thing, tho, that we can learn from our errors in the past. We can build better robots now, we are still learning.
There was another Sesame Street sketch featuring a scientist and a robot. In that sketch the scientist was trying to get the robot to walk, but he didn't add legs or knees to it. Can somebody please post that clip?
I don't have it! When I videotaped all these cartoons over twenty years ago, I paused the VCR after every segment I didn't want. I regret doing that now. There are many skits I didn't want then but want now. I've learned that by reviewing the tape. And, by the way, there is only one frame after this cartoon and nothing is there. How do you know you want it?
Not half bad! If I'd collaborated on this cartoon I would've added love to the list of simulated emotions, though: imagine the robot saying "Awww..." and giving the inventor a big hug. :)
... and then, the poor robot levels the city.

when that robot was going to get angry it looked like he was going to fall apart in to pieces so that's probably why the scientist stopped him

Ever wonder why the scientist's wall was made of paper?
samuraix73 3 years ago
He used all of his budget on building the robot to have emotions, whatever he had left went towards the wall.. hehehe.
cjdunn 3 years ago
and the perspective is odd... the wall looks closer than it actually is. Somebody painted the wall and floor strangely

Maybe it was a trade-show tent. The scientist was running a demo...

Wow. When I was little, I wondered if Artificial Emotions were possible, later they called it "Artificial Intelligence", I scare myself.
