  • Well, I like the TMX coz' it is so classic in it's structure. This kind of bike is virtually the same for 40 years. I would love to have a brand new CB 100 or 125, but the TMX is still here - and so good looking.CB was sold in the Philippines, with 4-speed gearbox, but very rare bike. CB100 has cam chain and had problems with seizures w cam shaft. It had 6v with contact breaker points & 18" wheels. TMX has only 4 speeds, but it has 155,3cc, I miss a 5th speed though

  • @mrbullet350 I agree very much about the 5th speed. Honda improved the TMX by adding CDI ignition and using a full-frame but they stopped short of adding a 5th gear. Kawasaki did better by offering a 175cc machine with 5 speeds. Even Suzuki has a 5-speed (although 2-stroke) model. I hate that Honda is confident they own the market share to even bother about improving the TMX with a 5-speed transmission.

  • Hey mrbullet350. I like the TMX myself but I got to admit that I find it interesting that you do since it is in fact technologically behind the CB. I only found out about the CB on the internet cause it never marketed here. From videos i've watched it immediately sounds more sophisticated..more like XL than TM or CG. Nvtheless, the TMX is a great machine. I like that it now has full cradle frame and CDI. Before, engine was a stressed member and must have caused many undocumented failures.
