128 is a very good tempo measurement for the samples, because it cuts them in right away at the drum beats. But after experimenting, I found that the actual tempo of More Spell on You is 132.880 beats per minute. You can even try that out with a metronome. Believe me. To do the pitch and time-alterations, bring the pitch down by -160 cents, or -16 semi-tones. And then, take the tempo from 132.880 to 122.880. 122.880 is the speed of One More Time. :D
So I got the exact same sample (I actually cut it myself) that you used, and I imported it in FL into Fruity Slicer, but when it slices it , it doesn't come out like yours did.
I tried using the different slicing options (1/6 /1/2 and such) but the closest one is when I use Beat as the slicing option. But my slices don't come out like yours how you can play those two keys and pretty much make the beginning of One More Time. Any help please? Im using a PC keyboard with FL
@Lokigdren when you sample it you have to get the beat timing right. i did it in audition, it has a beat selector and i can zoom in. i prefer it over edison but you can do the same with either.
make sure you set the bpm to 128 and set the fruity slicer bpm to around that and it should even out. i have to play with slicer alot to get it how i want it.
@Dave23788 How are you going to be able to figure that number out? And why would Daft Punk use .876? I would say 123 bpm is close enough. I tap the tempo, which I find to be much more reliable than any BMP Counter out there. And I've tried quite a few. But, I don't mean any disrespect. Just want to know your opinion on why Daft Punk used 122.876 instead of a simple 123.
@BeatsBySten its just because daft punk used a sampler to cut out the samples they wanted and used a pitchcontroller to pitch it down and while pitching the whole thing down the tempo changes as well so i guess that they did want to be around 123 but they just pitched it down to their ears and accidently it was 122.876
@BeatsBySten i think he means that they were just finding what they thought sounded right. when they changed the pitch the tempo changed. sometimes when you sample you have to make small adjustments like that for more accuracy. like when i did it i just matched everything with what i thought sounded best which happened to be 128. more spell on you was a faster tempo so thats why i ended up faster. but i got the samples to line up at 128 even. they may have cut the samples a bit larger than mine.
The BPM is very easy to get, if you got a good audio editing software of course... I tried to measure the BPM and got 122.881, don't know which one is correct :/
So, what part of the instrumental break did you sample? Is it the first time the trumpets play, the second, etc. 'cus I'm lost...I always sample the first one, and it doesn't sound quite right...
(here's a tip though: the bass notes is wrong, and i'm mentioning this cause i love the bass in the original, so yeah.. the second note should be a fifth away from the first note.)

you should cut the low freqs in those first bars.
the bpm's are too high, they should be around 122 bpm
the rest is good

you can simply use audio clips, it's more easy to cut. But this way works too ^^

@DJMikeFunk I use tap tempo but I don't know how to get it that accurate.

@eduardo13rocha
Hmm, well first of all your device must reach thousandths of 1 BPM, if that's not the case you might have a bad time trying to find the exact tempo.
Watch this video and see why it's so easy to find the BPM in FL Studio: watch?v=g12MIMzpabo
