Billy was a true rockstar. You don't see musicians that look like this anymore. It's all plaid shirts and Converse. He was a hell of a showman and he didn't even have to jump around like a lunatic.
@likeiis so true, i think that kids fixation on classic or old bands comes from the fact that the new ones are not convincing rock stars. You can have a plaid shirt and still own the stage, which is not to be confused with just plain posing or acting out some vid.
yup and Billy Corgan reminds me the singer of an animated band hiting strong here in Italy not being a million dollar production. Search for SWAVE IN THE FUTURE
Not just James, Billy, and Jimmy as well, the only one who looks like they even wanna play was Melissa.. When they did that performance, Machina already flopped and Billy was already in talks of letting the band go. What a shame since it was a great album. Blue Skies Bring Tears still is an amazing song.
never heard this song before, and im a huge sp fan. been following them since 91 (but was homeless for 10 yrs) seen them before they got big (grew up next town over). love solo corgan and zwan all the more. ok so i have 3 ?s for somebody. 1) what year do u think this was 2) why is this song called 'I of the mourning' when all i hear him sing is 'radio, radio, radio....', and 3) who's the heavy drummer at 1:15 that looks like pro-golfer john daly, was this the guy that od'd or someone new?
f-ing incredible. I was never a fan of melissa's bass sound with the pumpkins though. it's too in your face. I much prefer d'arcy and ginger's smooth, low tones
i much prefer just D'arcy :L:P but Ginger's iight i guess...if she gd enought to be one of the Smashing Pumpkins and gd enough for Billy Corgan to except....thn shes gd enough for me..:L:P
People are hung up on the original line up because that's what was magical about them. Yes Billy is the main part, but it just isn't the same.

the pumpkins were lucky with their original line up
darcy was present during the recording of machina and if she had also been there during the touring,i think machina would have been a success

I hate the vocals.
Corgan sounds awesome in the album but he sounds "exhausted" live.

I've been to plenty of concerts where the guitars are too prominent in the mix, which makes for a less enjoyable music experience.
