  • There's my Uncle Ben!

  • @MayerEO I can give you plenty of strange hyperbolic quotes from the NT, both spoken by Jesus and not, if you like.

  • "That show" is called West Wing, and it's absolutely wonderful.

  • notice how they only quote the old testament. where a plethora of obscure rules appear when pulled out of context

  • @MayerEO I'm sure it makes perfect sense when kept *in* context now, doesn't it? Not to mention that the new testament must be *far* more relevant...

  • @MayerEO Please inform us of the correct context then. It's also difficult to distance the OT from the NT when they're bound together. Bronze Age babble, it is.

  • You random person are awesome

  • Comment removed

  • This clip made my day. I never understood how quoting from the writings of ignorant bronze age men was an argument for anything. People who do that must have no brain at all.

  • First rule of ignorant tight-ass club, you don't talk about ignorant tight-ass club...

  • As a christian, I stand and applaud this shootdown of that woman. It's really sad the way many christians have conducted themselves.

  • just a pity it was tv

  • Hypo means under standard. Hyper is the word you're looking for.

Nice video, though. Fuck religious bigots.

  • all she needed to say was "Charlie Sheen!" for the perfect comeback ;p

  • where's Nicholas Cage when u need him to slap another religious nut?O i forgot he's still busy with the BEES

  • 52 well-brainwashed christians have watched this.

  • Now we know where Charlie got the tiger blood from.

  • Magnificent.

Fuck christianity, fuck it for all times.

  • I saw this before, but I can't remember when or why. Not this episode, but this clip. I don't understand what's the big deal about this. What he said didn't sound that scathing...

  • what episode is that?...i wanna watch it :)

  • how is she a hippo hehe shes more of a giraffe. And somewher ei hear that islam christianity and judaism all have the old testament as part of scripture.... so how is this hippo christian being a giraffe.....?

  • I love the way he tops it off.

  • "In this building when the President stands, nobody sits."

  • He shut that stuck-up bitch the fuck up! I loved this episode when I watched this show. I might start watching West Wing again.

  • He shut that stuck-up bitch the fuck up! I loved this episode when I watched this show. Imight start watching West Wing again.

  • That was one hell of a speech.

  • nice...im gonna remember that

  • i hate how society deems certain degrees as being 'doctor' title worthy and not others. either they all are or none, they're the exact same equivalent degrees. a phd is a phd..... but yea the woman in this video is a bigot

  • @SanguineBullet667 ...I think the reason is...is that much of society believes that just because you have a Phd that somehow that makes you qualified to counsel, prescribe medicine, and be ultimately more intelligent than the rest of society. Truth is, unfortunately, it is not always the PhD that matters, but what that PhD is in and what institution it was obtained from. I know of some that have gotten PhD from unaccredited institutions, there PhD is not equivalent to others!

  • It Takes A True Christian To Show His True Love For God, And Sheen Does It Better Than Most.

  • she bowed(stood) to a false god........after getting served like a hot potatoe. hoyaa

  • Great scene.

  • APOCALYPSE NOW !!!!

  • or writting a crappy song.

  • It seems like the only time we infuse fiction into real life is when we use the bibles to do it. If only we could infuse fiction like this into real life! I think i've been inspried for the next song!

  • this scene is BIASED. The WOMAN is too stupid to defend herself. Better?

  • @Magnum1977 Okay well can you defend her?

  • @WalkofLyfe No, this lady is crazy.

  • @Magnum1977 Typical appologistic response.

  • @AtheistSongs Typical atheist responce. Shouldn´t you be wachting star trek or something?

  • @Magnum1977 The man has the word "atheist" in his nickname, you retard!

  • @ricardofuego thanks dork.

  • @Magnum1977 lolwhat? you sound like a bigot

  • @Magnum1977 No, even a stupid dumb ass who held in high regard the words of a bunch of Bronze Age Desert Nomadic ignorant savages to be wisdom, recognized when someone call her bullshit.

  • I'm in love.

  • I´ve been out of the country for years now. What in the world is going on with Sheen Junior? Did he just get crazy? Maybe he just pissed the wrong hollywood guy off? Anyways, crazy shit.

  • thanks for the input youtubers. I think it´s a little more complicated then most people think. The very stupid women is not the one to argue this point...to anyone. And Mr Sheen is clearly portraying a carasmatic father figure who knows all, and the women is clearly playing a bitch. It´s a very buyest view. Do people hate the bible, or do they hate religion? The Idea of a god? Are scenes like this a good thing? If so, why? If I got you´re attention up to now, I might as well ask. Thanks

  • @Magnum1977 Woman* charismatic* woman* biased* There ya go, fixed your spelling errors. And maybe some people don't hate religion or the bible or god, why do you have to assume that it's hate? Maybe he's just pointing out the different aspects of the bible and religion that are outdated and need to be reformed, like when Martin Luthor had the bible changed, or when the Orthodox bible was changed.

  • @Draven172 thanks for the corrections. I guess it´s not so much hate, but a way of bashing the thought that the bible is an outdated "book" to young empty minds. I´ve just been seeing a constant theme..religion and god are the same and they are bad and only stupid people who can´t spell believe in it because they´re weak etc etc...Am I wrong? You think it must be changed because you´ve been taught to think that...no?

  • @Magnum1977 I just think that certain aspects of the bible don't apply now days or shouldn't apply now days. I'm all for the idea of hope and the comfort a concise source of everything brings, because being in the dark about everything that encompassing existence can be frightening to some. I just don't believe that some people should be discriminated against like gays or handicapped people like the bible says, or that we should be stoning women for wearing a cloth of 2 different threads.

  • @Draven172 I see your point. In my opinion, it just seems as though the media is concentrating more on the negatives and just overall BIASED. I´m no expert, but I´m sure there´s deeper meanig in the holy scriptures than what is portrayed in....well, everything. The stoning was part of life, as is execution of criminals today. I think the thread deal is islam. discrimination and hate of anyone is not in the King James version. Mistakes are shown so they wiill not be repeated. Love thy brother.

  • Martin Sheen, FTW!

  • nuff respect due, bitch. what she needs is a little cold rice & rat meat.

  • so what happens when he sits up to scratch his ass?

  • he just gave me a boner, love him!

  • WHAT THE HELL IS THE ILLUSIVE MAN DOING IN THIS

  • @Dimension182 Being AWESOME.

  • The illusive man. O.o

  • @MWarnkegwg You sir, are a fool. That is all.

  • @Magnum1977 He's talking about some of the atrocities contained in the Bible. If the bitch is opposed to homos cause it says so in the Bible, she should agree with him on those other topics, no?

  • @Magnum1977 hes talking about taking passages from the bible literally today and how out of place it actually is.

  • @Magnum1977 Really? He is talking about all of the ridiculous things in the bible and how Christians don't follow them, yet they follow the verse that says homosexuality is a sin. It was very clear.

  • @Magnum1977 He's talking about the crazy shit in the bible that no one follows anymore, but somehow it rules their lives.

  • @ZacharyThadJones All of it is crazy shit dude

  • @Magnum1977 in short

Stupid Bitch: HOMO's AER BAD, HERP DERP

    Sheen: Why?

    Stupid Bitch: BIBLE SAYS SO!

Sheen: The bible also says all this other shit...

    Stupid Bitch: UHHH...

  • @Vendetta71105 LOL! thanks, that´s better than the original dialogue.

  • Depends on whether your daughter is a virgin or not. Based on the looks of your other kids she's probably not a looker so realistically, around 18K give or take. As for grandma... yea stone her. Any more questions Mr. President?

  • Also aftern seven years can my debts be forgiven, it is in the Bible as well. The year of Jubilee!

  • damn!! what show is this??

  • There are no absolutes and the sooner we start to see our bretheren as HUMAN BEINGS the sooner we will be happy.

  • @ShockedWithTruth Looking forward to the rapture. The world will be a better place without all this christian claptrap. Morality exists without religion.

  • @TbabeRN Religion exists without morality.

  • @ShockedWithTruth In other words, he came to confuse the issue.

  • Why can't he straighten Charlie out with talk like that.

  • If only all Christians could shut their mouths and listen for this long.

  • Every time I see Charlie Sheen I think of him as Jason Wynn from Spawn and I expect to see the clown standing in a shadowy corner of the room!

  • Charlie Sheen senior(Martin) is bi winning.

  • U mad?

  • Christians who call the Koran an evil book are hypocrites.

  • @hagenar

Nonetheless, misguided as the "moral majority" of the Bible Belt might be, they aren't wrong. It's just that they don't see the evil in their own theocratically-manipulated doctrine. Kind of a pigeon-hole principle on acceptance of faith. I just build another pigeon box so the bastard quits pooping on my car.

  • @hagenar Yeees, and whats your excuse about atheists, agnostics or polytheists who call Quran evil?

  • @skepticaldemocrat I'm not here to excuse anyone. But this atheist doesn't see the world as only good and evil. I see all religious texts simply as outdated narratives that the world would probably be better without.

  • Fuck Charlie, he is the one with the tiger blood.

  • I thought I saw smoke rising up from her near the end. Great clip, and illustrates what I've noticed for some time. Christians cherry-pick their Bible. They have to really. The good ones cherry pick the good parts and ignore the nasty parts. The bad ones cherry pick the things that will support their right wing political view and their bigotry and scapegoating. Either way, they do not really practice Biblical morality.

  • @DandAinTac True dat! Legalistic Christians (hypocrites, would aptly apply) pick out the laws they obey and ignore, or go running back under grace, when confronted. Fact is, Jesus came into the world not to condemn it, but to pay the price for our sins. All have sinned, but few seem capable of acknowledging this and accepting His gracious and full pardon.

  • Martin is the better Sheen.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime P.S. As I said, the bible is hypocritical, I think saying I love everyone except for specific people for ridiculous reasons would make me a hypocrite. As an example; I can vote for one political party because they may have more policies that I agree and "believe" in, but they're may be a few I disagree with. Agreeing with some and disagreeing with others, but "following" them anyway, doesn't make me a hypocrite.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime You know what? I'm fine with atheism. I have a few atheist friends, but the main thing is that we respect each others views and opinions. You, on the other hand, I doubt respects any form of religion and, as I said before, you just feel the need to offend. I just find that pathetic. I think whatever religion your from, even if you're not from any, you still need to respect and treat people fairly.

  • The main thing we need to take from the thing is that we just need to "love" everyone and treat them fairly.

But thank God I don't need to LIKE everybody, because frankly, I find your need to offend anybody from a religious belief distasteful and cowardly, while we're at it.

  • @itcanbecheezcaketime I'm assuming you're an atheist, right? Oh how you know much better than every single Christian, Muslim, Jew or any other person with any form of religious belief in the world. The thing is, the bible IS hypocritical, the whole thing. God loves everyone, apart from gays, Jews, and those who wear the skin of an animal? It's nothing to about what I feel is convenient for myself, it's what I believe is RIGHT. The main thing we need to take from is that we just need to "love" e

  • 46 people nit-pick bible verses to support their hatred for anything different from them, but get pissed when you show them other verses to use against their ignorance.

  • Love this!! Thank you.

  • Martin Sheen is attacking the Bible because of what is written in the Law of Moses. He is also quoting partial scrptures and spinning it out of context. The letters written by the Apostle Paul teach that our point of referrence should be fixed on the Person of Jesus Christ. God doesn't hate anyone, but He absolutely does hate sin and evil the way a mother should hate the polio that strickens the child. ALL sin is an abomination. God loves people with evil hearts, but he wants to change them.

  • @euralj06 Whatever helps you sleep at night.

  • @euralj06 you sound like a lunatic.

  • @euralj06

"Thou shalt not have any Gods before me". Surely you recognize that line, right?

Well, it doesn't say "Thou shalt not have any Gods before except Jesus Christ", does it? I didn't think so.

The truth is, God is a human invention. Jesus was not divine. He was simply a man. The Council of Nicea decided to make Jesus divine.

But your little moment to proselytize on a YouTube comment, in my opinion, makes you an annoying jackass.

  • I wasn't an atheist...... until now!

  • If sheen were my father, I would smoke crack and probably wind up insane or suicidal. Who could bare the thought that their father has probably been screwed in the rear end? Rock Hudson supprised many of us with that one. We just didn't see it at first. The Gospel Message is simply this: "Jesus will forgive all your sins no matter what you've done", but that does not give us a driver's license to travel the road to eternal hell as fat as we can.

  • @euralj06 i want to tell you something, but it seems like you are way too into this bullshit religious homophobic thing to convey what i want to say so i won't even bother. what makes me really sad is that there is still soooo many close minded people (just like you) in this world. i see no difference between you and hitler or any other fascist leader that ever existed. may gods love be with you my man.

  • @elrey1eon Go ahead and tell me anything you want. My email is eural.jones@gmail.com. "Homophobic' is a dysphemism targeted at apropriate thinking moral people whose convictions are that homosexuality is wrong. All they want is to raise their children without harm. The only time I ever had a penis in my anus was when I was raped at 8 Years old. The more we are forced to accept this as healthy behavior, the more children will be sexually abuse. it's already happening in America.

  • What Martin Sheen doesn't realize is that the evil people have challenged the Bible many centuries past. It has been banned and even burned more than any book in history. Some people have actually died trying rid the world of it. Let's hope that Mr. Sheen doesn't get hurt kicking around on nuclear warheads.

  • @euralj06 Not all homosexuals engage in anal sex. Not all homosexuals are men. Some heterosexual people engage in anal sex. Your anecdote is irrelevant.

  • Homosexuality is a retched sinful evil. Even medical science will confirm that a man's rear end doesn't work like a woman's vagina. I use to have a roomate who was gay. I use to let them live their own lives, but I found it difficult to endure his stories about 'anal orgasms". Martin sheen has lost his mind and probably his own son. If Martin sheen were my father i would probably have overdosed on crack by now.

  • @euralj06 you're an idiot, sir

  • @elrey1eon Persecution is something Jesus said would be a price Christians whould have to pay for folowing Him. It just means I'm doing the right thing. And by the way, Insults are the percet example of the beautiful, intelligent common sense resoning that will evenyually change the world fo good. Keep up the good work. You will soon convince me to live my life as a devient sexual pervert.

  • @euralj06: apparently, insults are only those words and phrases that YOU consider insulting... while the pure fecal matter that you spit in our comments and is more insulting to normal intelligent people than anything else is apparently the word of god, simply because YOU say so... well... take you bible and go explore some anal orgasms, you may learn that shit of a book is good for something after all...

  • @stojadinovicp I don't belive the Bible is the written word of God because of my opininion. I use to be an atheist. I now believe the Bible is God's Word because he told so Himself.

  • @stojadinovicp I don't believe in anal orgasms, and I choose to use mine for going #2 and nothing else. It's strange how people have "evolved" to believe that female vaginal secretion is the same thing as the brown stuff a person produces in their bowels. Can you believe that there are well educated medical personell (even doctors) that want to teach Godly thinky moral people that when a person bleeds for their rectums after anal sex it is the same as a womans period?

  • @euralj06 btw about that persecution thing... you really are an idiot. if you smoke crack and people get mad at you for it, does it mean you're doing the right thing?

  • @elrey1eon Very often we come to realize that a lot of people smoke crack because their parents weren't the parents that God asked them to be. It is now clear to me that Martin Sheen, in spite of how talented he may be, is wrestling with God concerning his own homosexual sin. That's not okay, yet a lot of people just like him have found peace with God through His mercy and the shed blood of Christ. I have heard testimonies how God can change a person's lifestlye and reward them with true joy.

  • Excuse me sir? Are you a Christian? Do you believe that Christ is the only true God?

  • Comment removed

  • If Martin Sheen was my father I'd straighten the fuck up.

  • @Jahoobano that was very clever.

  • @Jahoobano Lowe talks about Martin a lot in his book, you should check it out.

  • @Jahoobano - if only Charlie were listening.

  • I love that really awkward moment at the end, where she's just like, "Should I... should I stand up?" And he's just staring at her like, "I'm waiting."

  • does anyone know if martin Sheen is saved or is he going still to hell?

  • @euralj06 Going to hell probably. Just like you, since you probably commit, condone, or do not attempt to stop the sins he listed. So I'm sure you will see him there.

  • @euralj06 - Going to hell in a handbasket with you, no doubt.

  • @50Violetta Let me correct your understanding about what the road to Hell is about. The Bible (God's Word) doesn't mention anything about handbaskets, but it certainly does mention "weeping and gnashing of teeth".

  • @euralj06 - Does it, now?

Again, enjoy the ride in your handbasket.

  • @euralj06 - I distinctly remember the bible mentioning handbaskets, especially when discussing the mode of transportation to hell. There was no mention of the type of transportation out of there, so plan on staying a long time. Enjoy your hellish experience since you're such a staunch believer in all things good. Typical religious nut!

  • @50Violetta Hand baskets? Chapter and cerse please?

  • @euralj06 - I'm sure it's in there somewhere. Keep on looking! Why is it people like you (un-Chrsitian like) are so interested in whether others have been "saved?" As if it's any of your business. You always focus on the other's sin, don't you? Like you've got all your shit together. You can cite chapter and verse all you like, but you only sound like a wicked Pharisee. Judge not lest ye be judged. Remember that one? So many inconsistencies in the bible it's ridiculous!

  • @50Violetta I don't need to keep looking. I've read and taught the Bible for many years now and I know what it says. The reason I believe it is my business to reach out and save people from Hell is because God tells me this is what love is all about. If a person yells very loud at a blind man because he is falling into a pit. Is it love or is it hate? I would not be judging (condemning) him; I would be saving him. What inconsistecies pray tell?

  • @euralj06 stop spouting your deluded nonsense and see a doctor for phuk sake. good mental health to you, in very large portions.

  • Get. Told. Bitch.

  • Comment removed

  • Whats so sad is points like these are generally dismissed as being out of context, or you are not qualified to judge them etc. Whats even sadder is a person with this much rationality could never get elected to such a high office because the the election depends on people like her.

That was a brilliant performance by Martin Sheen what movie was that from?

  • @robvlob Not from a movie, from the TV series The West Wing. Another of my favorite scenes is his Star Wars Charlie Brown analogy

  • Dumb bitch got what was comin'. You tell her Illusive Man!

  • Nice definition. Though it defines 'myth' it does not complete it's inevitable trend towards ballooning from normal human characteristics to superhuman and God powers. The bible, and Christ specifically have remained. As for the apocrypha it has not been recognized as scripture, and is used by the catholic church, to which I am not affiliated.

  • Interesting that if you look at the history of myths, you will see that the Bible does not fit in that category. Myths grow over time, and change dramatically as time goes on. A careful study of even the most liberal bible versions will show that fundamentally there is very little difference between them. If you want a stark comparison then look at the Greek and roman myths, you will see the difference.

  • @MWarnkegwg

Myth: a usually traditional story of ostensibly historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon. -Merriam-Webster

Bible seems to fit pretty well into that...

I'm not sure where you received your definition of myth from.

The Ramayana hasn't changed much nor have many of the Confucian classics. Besides, what about the apocrypha? Your basic premise that the Bible hasn't changed isn't even correct.

  • @MWarnkegwg You never stopped to consider that what Jesus (if he existed at all) did in real life might not be what's in the book?

Maybe he died after three days on the cross, and people said, "if he was true he will resurrect in heaven", and that turned into him being God himself and actually resurrecting physically?

Is it not more likely that the bible follows the exact same patters as all the other religions, rather than what is written today is the actual truth? Occam's razor, you know?

  • I want a president like this!!

  • The new covenant. That is what I'm talking about. As I said, the Bible is to be used to deal with the complexities that man creates, and it does it well. The problem lies in picking and choosing lines, as in this video, and trying to say the laws are this way. It doesn't work that way in the court system either. For instance, if a law is passed saying you cannot walk across the street without a crosswalk, then the police will not go around fining people who have in the past.

  • @MWarnkegwg Thats an excellent point. You could also say that as the men who wrote the bible had no education and no idea how big the world is or how many life forms reside on it, and as they did not know about the hundreds of billions of galaxy's containing hundreds of billions of stars and they had no way of knowing that everything around them is made of the tiniest little things that anyone could possibly imagine. Then the bible equally should not know about them. Is that correct?

  • @TacticalAtheist What tiny things are you referring to? It seems logical to state that the Bible would not go into immense minute details. For if it did it would be the size of an encyclopedia, and few would read it. The fact that it was penned by man seems logical as well. If God had just 'dropped' the book down, like in some myths mankind would have dismissed it. To give it a physical connection to man is reasonable.

  • @MWarnkegwg The problem is that it does not go into detail about anything. There is nothing in the bible about anything specific. It is just full or ignorant rantings from very primitive minds who realized the power and wealth they could gain from perpetuating myths and legends and claiming they alone new the truth. If it were the word of god there would be only one! (ohh! Sean Connery flash back) :)

  • Quotations from the OT. Classic. If one would bother to read ALL of the Bible instead of the parts he\she want to use to quote out of context, they would see a more integrated message that cannot be interpreted within a single line, or group. There are many cross referencing systems built in for understanding. Like all forms of literature, it should be weight on the entirety of it's works. Many are unwilling to do so, because giving the Bible a fair shake just wouldn't be prudent.

  • @MWarnkegwg How could you quote "kill someone if he works on sabbath" out of context?

  • @MrY89

    "kill someone" :D

  • @MrY89 Exodus35:2 Type it into that funny little google search bar up in the corner of your browser... Then come and say to me how much context there is.

  • @Magnetohydrodynamics This was a response to someone who claimed President Batlet quoted out of context.

I know Exodus 35:2 and I know that the qoute from it is not out of context, so what are you trying to say?

  • i was litteraly just talking to my mom about this!! (my mom is a christian and i am an atheist) i told her that eating shellfish is as bad as homosexsuality in the bible and she kept making excuses and telling me "oh that's the old testament". I should have watched this before talking to her! EPIC! favorited!

  • @paranoidandroid505 Ain't that the truth! And if only our government would enforce separation of church and state.

  • Fucking epic

  • Fucking epic

  • where is this scene from? Movie or series? Thanks

  • wow martin should team up with richard dawkins XDD

  • I really think Martin Sheen should read a book called the bible, no i mean really. It appears he really doesn't have much of an idea about the scripture hes spewing out.

  • @godisgreat82ify Oh he does... He perfectly demonstrates how bible literalists who are hell bent on damning homosexuality always seem to sidestep the other hundreds of laws in the OT Law. He has an idea alright.

  • @TennesseeOwnsMyBones

so true. if youre going to take it as the absolute truth, then take it all. it seems stupid to pick and choose things from the bible, because if you can start to qustion things like all the stupid rules mentioned in the video and countless others, then why shouldnt you question the other things it says, about heaven, hell etc. etc.

I mean, who has the authority to say 'this bits true' 'ignore this bit' etc. and why base anything on what they chose to include and omit?...

  • @godisgreat82ify It's called sarcasm. And this "doctor lady" is basically an effigy of "Dr." Laura Schlesinger.

  • @godisgreat82ify Are you saying that the stuff he's talking about isn't actually in the bible?

  • @godisgreat82ify You should read the bible because there are passages in the bible which condone atrocities.

  • @godisgreat82ify It's easier to pretend that I suppose than to accept what your religion actually preaches.

  • I think I will go back to plowing the fields,,seems to make more sense ;-)

  • boom, roasted.

  • ahhh atheists and christians...alot more in common then they know...for instance, both believe they DO KNOW...when both DO NOT

  • @ThaGodWeCreate WRONG ! You're making a blanket assertion of ALL atheists & christians. Not every atheist & christian believe they know. There are some people of other religions who do not claim to know.

  • @tranquility4all well if an atheist believes he does not know if there is a god, he/she is agnostic which is tha proper term (and yes i spell tha with an "A" my name is A and it means alot to me, plus its phonetically correct)...how can anyone know there IS or ISN'T a god, its impossible to know that, i personally beleive it is highly unlikely any human interpretation of god is correct, but why do we need to know if there is or isnt a god anyway, just appreciate tha nature of everything

  • @ThaGodWeCreate Because there isn't any credible evidence to support ANY god's existence I choose to reject the claim that a god exists. I can't prove it. However You're never called on to prove a negative.

  • @tranquility4all Thats exactly how i feel my friend...i also assume tha "REAL" nature of our existance is far more complicated than our tiny human brains can phathom or comprehend..thats why tha whole issue of "god" is irrelevant. I do however appreciate tha sun, tha oceans, tha trees...tha givers of life you kno.
