  • watched the video - have you guys managed to test the DDMA (multiple audio out) feature yet?

  • @lordmenetti "yet"? youve not watched the video :p

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

will this card max out F1 2011 and give me better FPS than a 560 ti?

  • Wtf I spilled passion tea on meh brand new flannel 19:25

  • damn, I love England's English

  • @rasak55 lol, it's the regular english...

  • this is shiit..

  • Thank you very much for showing comparative scores in the video. In most cases I don't go to the O3D review so it helps a lot to see at least some comparison in the video itself.

  • they had two different reference coolers for the 4770 too, all the reviewers got the expensive reference cooler but all the AIBs used the cheap reference cooler

  • I can finally max out minecraft with this bad boy...

  • The 7950 is about £100 more expensive than the MSI 6970 Lightning (about 38% more expensive), but only performs about 22% better than it. At this point in time, I don't think it's a good option to buy one of these cards, because AMD is exploiting their leader position as much as they can through price skimming. When Nvidia launches their 28nm cards(soon), we will get to see the competition and we'll have lower prices...

  • @floflorian

    Drivers will only increase performance

  • @floflorian lol wrong

  • Why didn't you show the overclocked 7970's scores?

  • Just bought a 7970 and I love it. OCed it out of the box to max Catalyst settings and getting P8932 on 3Dmark 11 with a i7-930@3.5GHz. These are shaping up to be a great cheaper option.

  • My 6950 crossfire overclocked is almost equal to a single 7950. This new range of AMD cards id offering massive increases in performance for a single card solution. With cooler temps, less power consumption, a quieter and more efficient cooler, these cards are a great step forward for gamers. Hopefully AMD can get their asses into gear with driver support because they hamper the performance of the 6000 series considerably

  • I can smell his alcohol breath....

  • I think its time to upgrade to a 2560x1440 monitor and then test these graphic cards :-) sure 1080p is nothing nowadays.

  • Great vid. Although i would to of seen 7950 OC'd vs 7970 OC'd.

  • what's the program you use to show fps,gpu usage and memory usage? Thx

  • @Gialuk1992 He said during the Battlefield 3 gameplay section of the video.

  • @potatocats

i'm not english i don't understand very well what he said XD

  • Love your vids, but got a question mate :) How is the 7950 overclocked vs 7970 overclocked and how is the temperatures on the 7950 when overclocked ?

  • This sounds pretty quiet... I'm not a big gamer, more a fan of hardware and stuff, really excited to see what happens with the 7850/7870 (assuming those are the numbers used, but you know what I'm talking about...) 'Cause for my needs a 6850 more than suffices, I'm hoping I'll be able to get one of the cheaper cards of this generation and keep it dead quiet.

  • Great review mate. Thanks. I agree at it's release price of £350 it's not that at all. Direct competition at this moment is with a 1.5GB GTX580. The extra VRAM and overclocking ability makes it a pretty reasonable. Would have been great to see these close to £300, would really have made NVIDIA sweat. Will be interesting to see how NVIDIA respond with Kepler performance and pricing.

  • These cards, the reference 7950 vs.HIS 7950 with the centered fan cooler. reminds me of the refrence GTX 570 vs. the EVGA GTX 570 HD. Just like this the 570 HD looks like it could be a refrence card but it isn't and it is quieter than the refrence cooler as well.

  • Love how many times he says 6950 lol. I do it too.

  • deserves more views

  • Can't decide if it's worth getting the 7970 over this card, considering it's quite a lot more money.

  • hey tom ..i found that the card from HIS is the reference one and the one that you've been sent from amd is a scale down version from the 7970...i've seen 3 brands using the fan design the HIS used ... the other 2 are MSI and POWERCOLOR...

  • Looking at Aria, it seems the centre fan design is the refrence cooler.

  • So is it the PCB and the cooler thats longer or just the cooler?

  • God dammit now I have to look for what chaoticuk said because of the top comment, nice review Tom, thanks for keeping us up to date :)

  • These cards OC like crazy! I'd love to see what the 7870 can do :D

  • purple is the best colour for the afterburner osd, perhaps. sometimes those readings are not clearly seen

  • once again - thank you for great review. this gpu looks pure sexy, but i wonder if it worth the trouble of selling my Asus directCU gtx570 and getting one of these babies!

  • 19:24 He gave me a heart attack -_-

  • press start and then type in "snipping tool" you can take your pics that way. even tho you wont read this!!

  • Im curious as to how quiet this GPU was when it was overclocked under load?

  • @steve30x

as Tom said its really quiet on stock(49% fan speed), i cant imagine it becoming insanely loud after overclocking

  • lol... 21:24

  • how does it compare to gtx 580

  • @thousandsunny627 Extremely close but uses less power so can overclock better.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms my speakers fked up, so could you please tell me how much does this card cost? I am thinking about getting one or even two so would be very glad if you could tell me :D

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms , I just read that AMD will NOT be producing "Reference" 7950's ,You are right that they were mocked up one up with 7970 parts, AMD is letting partners do whatever they want to on the 7950.

  • Still too expensive. $470-500 on Newegg. Around same price as GTX 580 so no need for Nvidia to lower prices.

  • @doomtomb3 I was hoping AMD would have priced the 7950 at 399 and started a "Price War" with Nvidia ,Not looking that way..

  • same as my gtx 480

  • does this outperform a gtx580?

  • @TheWretchedWorld naw man, its the same as my gtx 480.

  • @TheWretchedWorld yes.. barely.. you can find it from google (anand's etc.)

  • @TheWretchedWorld yes it does, and overclocked it eats everything up except its big brother

  • great video Tom! This video may have swayed me to get a 7950 instead of a 7970, thanks for the info

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms That is the reference cooler for the hd 7950

  • Sweet review dude!!!! Now...u go 3 way crossfire NAOOOWWWW!!!!!

  • Black PCB FTW!!!

  • Just SKIP!!! the morphing Ad and go to the freakin video Review! yeah!

  • YES! Thank you Tom for comparing the benchmark scores with other cards both stock and OCed. Ive been wanting you to do this for some time now. Any word when the new Nvidia cards will be making an appearance?

  • We got our XFX Black Edition 7950 up to 1200/1550 and ended up with 3DMark 11 X3239. No too shabby

  • wish i had tea ^_^

  • SWEET! AWESOME REVIEW TOM!

  • What the hell is going on here????

  • proper love watching your videos mate always top notch

  • im a hard NVIDIA fan, but if they dont come up with something better than this in less than 2 months, fuck them, ill buy this monster.

  • if this card can be flashed to an hd7970 then i feel sorry for those that spend 200 more on the 7970 and didn't wait Xd

  • does anyone know how necessary a 3GB model is over a 1.5GB one?

  • @callmesmorz to be honest, if you dont know why it is necessary, then you dont need it.

  • @antistatic12 i asked HOW necessary it is. not WHY its necessary. I just didnt know if 1.5Gb would be a bottleneck, and if it was a bottleneck, how it would be necessary. but, thanks anyways

  • @callmesmorz Well his Crysis benchmark was using near 1.8GB, and that's only at 1080p, if you have higher resolutions or multiple monitors, it will use more. If you have a single 1080p monitor or less, the 1.5GB version would be fine for you.

  • @OfficeHopscotch thanks man, i appreciate it. another question, though: the card only has 1.5 GB and crysis 2 was using 1.8; once it hits that 1.5Gb ceiling, what exactly happens? does performance drop significantly, or does it stutter/freeze? again, thank you.

  • @callmesmorz The frame rate will start to suffer, but he has the game maxed out, and AF uses a lot of memory, if you just lower the AF to 4x or 8x, you shouldn't run into a problem with the memory.

  • Wish i waited for the 7950 instead of buying the 7970.

  • I just read a review of a powercolor 7950 PCS+ beating a stock 590, hard to believe but true... wow!

  • Oh the freezing on crysis is the cheap production of HIS cards my friend had the exact same problem with his iceQ 6870, HIS cards are very cheap.

  • 19:30 dick move lol

  • Wish I had the cash for this card, damn.

  • When are the retail ones being released?

  • @mlp12456789 They're out on newegg.

  • If u open the 7950 u find the heatsink is v small, how much can u OC from there???

  • Could you compare it to some other older AMD cards and some Nvidia 500 series?

  • Might as well save your self 100 and get the 7950

  • Holy shit, this is one fucking beast of a GPU. I will throw out my piece of shit GTX 460 out the window when I get this thing.

  • @angleisthebest send it to me? m GTS 250 is starting to go

  • @Zraupp10 stick to your GTS 250 bro, it's the better card.

  • @angleisthebest she going CPT. look @ my videos

  • @angleisthebest Save it for a dedicated physx card ;D

  • @misterpc23

    i don't have any PhysX games geforce.***/Hardware/Technologies/PhysX/games

  • I stayed up all night for this...WORTH IT.

  • i get 60+ fps MAXED out with my GTS 250 512 mb with i5-2500 MSI Z68A-GD65 G3 (1440x900 19" monitor )

  • @Zraupp10 on what game?

  • @kohit7 BF:3

  • @Zraupp10 Kang?

  • @Zraupp10 i call bullshit. 30 frames at the most

  • i think i shall wait for the Nvidia series before i update my cards ;)

  • dual 7950 :)
