  • saying there isn't credible evidence is not proof he was innocent.

  • Would you be surprised if he turned into a terrorist now?

  • @colinsilver105 lol it's even compelling me to become a terrorist!

  • This makes me incredibly angry!

  • this is absolutely egregious

  • Well .. you do have to admit to bush and company anyone that works for a human rights group is a terrorist.

  • They wont do anything because Obama is a limp dick, CORRUPT as the republicans LONG LIVE HAMAS, End religious segregation

  • Usama Bin Laden is... now dead because of information recieved by this Bush initiated institution for terrorists

    THIS VIDEO SHOULD BE WATERBOARDED

  • @LSPNUEMA you need to wake up sheeple, yea you... your MAKER, Jesus' Father, doesn't like your ignorance and lack of love and respect for fellow man. Do be so prideful that it costs you your soul in eternity my friend.

  • @LSPNUEMA So what, the end justifies the means? By that logic, any American off the street can be detained and tortured because they "might" have information. For all the innocent people who were and still are in Guantanamo bay, one shred of okay information (I would like you to direct me to where anyone says waterboarding came up with the information on Osama) doesn't make all of the torture, humiliation, and downright brutality suddenly justified.

  • @DarkCrescendo ...this is an unorthodoxed war...with an enemy we cannot pinpoint everywhere in the world and among us in America as well...especially in Afghanistan and Iraq, which are schools and havens for terrorists. Americans on the street does not meet that criteria at all, they are not at war with our government and our way of life. I'm sure I will not convince you, you probably have your mind made up about Obama and Bush and the various political parties.

  • @LSPNUEMA I'll agree that it is an unorthodox war, but here's the problem...if the Afghan war had anything to do with finding Osama Bin Laden, we would have went into Pakistan and Saudi Arabia a long time ago (a majority of the terrorists from 9/11 were from Saudi Arabi...and the US government knew for a while that Bin Laden was most likely not in Afghanistan). Iraq was nothing but Bush's personal vendetta, Afghanistan has been an embarrassment and wasn't even the right place to get Osama...

  • @DarkCrescendo ...making all the innocent civilians killed all the more wrong and uncalled for. Oh, and I'm holding Obama responsible for a whole heck of a lot as we are STILL not leaving Afghanistan (We were originally supposed to be finalizing troop withdrawls by the end of this month...didn't happen), we are still somewhat in Iraq, and we have done very little to question Pakistan how it was that Bin Laden was living less than fifty miles from a large military base and was never discovered.

  • @DarkCrescendo I'm just going to say one last thing. It has been almost ten years and we still haven't "won" the War on Terror. The reason for this is that it is impossible to do so. There will always be extremists as long as there is free choice and free thought. Killing hundreds of thousands of civilians just to kill a few thousand Taliban isn't "collateral damage", it is freaking unacceptable. It is also unacceptable to take away a persons most basic rights just because that person...

  • @DarkCrescendo ...may have information of interest. But...as seen on this video, many of these men were tortured in order to fabricate evidence. On top of this, most of the time the US government knew that they had the wrong guys, but refused to release them because of the ensuing embarrassment that would follow! So, more often than not, innocent people were being tortured for no reason, and the US knew it. Also...There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to waterboard someone 189 times!

  • @DarkCrescendo It didn't work the first twenty times...why would it work with a hundred!? And of course, it never once crossed any of the "interrogators" minds that maybe, just maybe, these men actually had no information to begin with. That is why torture usually gets false information (I'll admit that, once in a blue moon, torture does obtain valueable info), because when detainees tell the truth...they aren't believed. So, to get the pain to stop, they make crap up...

  • @DarkCrescendo ...I'll stop before I go any further. I hope that we can just agree to disagree as neither of us will probably ever convince one another to chance the way we see this issue.

  • @DarkCrescendo ...if at the end of the day, people were freed from a ruthless dictator...AMEN!

I don't think there should be any regrets to what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq. Iraq is a proven training ground for Al Qeda...as well as Afghanistan, and in Afghanistan was where Osama was. Because he showed up in Pakistan means nothing.

Are we going to defame the mission of the troops after having lost plenty? What good is it going to do us now? Bush did ..with what he had

  • @LSPNUEMA AL qaeda never had a single training camp in Iraq before our invasion, you are full of shit buddy. Maybe it is time to admit that pulling recoures out of Afghanistan, WHERE AL QAEDA ACTUALLY WAS, to fight a war based on fear mongering was a retarded idea. We don't defame the memory of the tropps by saying this, to the contrary we pay them respect. They deserve an apology from the conservatives who pushed that war and from the sheep of a pubblic that bought into that bullshit.

  • WHY THE HELL ARE BUSH & CHENEY NOT IN PRISON?!

  • @roguegirl29 because people don't give a fuck if their government officials consistently break their own laws as long as they provide them with a false sense of security and misguided purposes!!

  • I know, we should stop cops from breaking speed limits and red lights to catch murderers. Damn cops

  • @DStrike0083 please look up what government official means for your comment makes no sense whatsoever!

  • @Sankoification a person who works for the government and for the benefit of the government is a government official. You're an idiot for construing the term so narrowly

  • And i thought my view of bush couldn't get lower.....*facepalm*. How the fuck did this man win his second term again?

  • On the plus side, he'll write a book, get a movie deal and make a lot of money. Or, he'll become a terrorist.

  • @ahmedeox

wow what a fucking idiot you you think the hundreds of innocents who have been in gitmo for years will all get movie deals huh

  • @ihateanthoney Where exactly did I say that about the hundreds of innocents in gitmo? Don't jump at someone's throat for a bit of sarcasm.

  • these are the ppl who turn to terrorism. these sort of ppl are forced to pik up the gun. If he piks up a gun and shoots bush, i wud call him a wrong man or a bad man

  • @jerrizneeru

i would call him a great man

  • remember what the nazis all said? "we were just following orders"

  • @dartpelo don't compare this to what the nazi's did...not even close

  • THE OFFICIALS WHO JUST WENT ALONG WITH CRIMINAL ORDERS SHOULD GET LIFE IN PRISON

  • @jtilicki thats the point. hink about it what is a war on terror?are you telling me that their going to stop terrorism? hats impossible in fact they are just giving terrorist groups more propoganda to recruit terrorists.you cant fight it with force, what i would do is try to encourage education,or democracy or tolerance.i wouldnt bomb them.al qaeda is probably more powerful than ever now because of the americans and whose going to suffer the civillians who live in those countries not americans

  • Reminds me of the story of a British subject who interned in Guantanamo. He was shown pictures that purported to show him at a terrorist training camp in the middle east. He was able to prove that at the time the pictures were taken he had actually been working at Dixons, a major high street electrical retailer in the UK. This made no difference, he was still pressured to admit he was at the camp and to confess to acts of terrorism.

  • America is a Terrorist..!!

  • @SuperJhonyBravo America is not the terrorist, the government is. Talk about oppression! Dont be afraid of Al-qaeeda be afraid of Al-cracker.

  • cockmeat sandwiches ain't fun...

  • @nuttybollockz

    what's cockmeat sandwich?

  • @sLOVEnac2

go see the movie "harold and kumar escape from guantanamo bay"

    then you'll get it.

  • @sLOVEnac2 a song by gwar

  • I'm glad newsbroadcasters have better intell than the American government. Does anyone think that maybe there might be something that we don't know. I'm not saying that mistakes and conspiracies don't happen, but if these people know more than the White House, then go fight the war and terror and show us how to win if you know everything!

  • @jtilicki what are you even talking about? all there intel came out of what the gov't and the police department released. there is no question, all of those were facts.

  • American bankers fighting islam becouse ISLAM IS AGAINST INTREST RATE . Islam banks does NOT charge intrest rate on loan of money , that is the reason we are against CAPITALISM!!

  • this makes me not wanna become a citizen of america im so pissed at the government for doing that!! what kind of "government" would jail a innocent man for 7 years and say oops well we thought you were a prisoner but made a mistake

  • Bush and Cheney belong in jail

  • OMG. i dont think id be as forgiving as this guy if i was in his shoes. i'm just not that good of a person. wish him the best though

  • I have seen a lot of horrible injustice in this world but this really takes the prize and the worst thing is that it has happened to so many other people that they have quited down that are not allowed to speak regarding it.

  • madness...

  • Obama has about 24 hours to be true to his vowel and finish closing Gitmo, and finish giving the people there full US citizen rights. I have faith that tomorrow, Obama will honor is word and finish doing what he started.

  • FUCKING AMERICAN's, don't forget who ELECTED Bush.

  • @Ulitedify i am american and you are right.

  • @EasyEs bullshit.

  • Great deconstruction of what I said. You must be real smart.

  • @EasyEs You say it appears this man has gone back to his old ways? What old ways? And where is your evidence?

I don't care for deconstructing what you say, cause as I said before, it's bullshit, you obviously don't know what you are talking about. Justifying torture with your "modern warfare" excuse. And it's just EXTRA bullshit when you say Gitmo is the place to be if you were to be imprisoned. What an idiot.

  • Actually if you read carefully he is saying that other inmates have gone back to terrorism and killed innocent people "like the man featured in the video".

  • @EasyEs yep im sure he went back to work at the human rights group after rights werent granted to him, gee whatever happend to trial before jury, i thought that was a fundemental judicial process of the democratic world, not if your arrested as a terrorist albeit doing nothing wrong

  • Welcome to the real world, Cenk. That's how America rolls.

  • America's days are numberd.........

  • Based on story, we can just say, not enough evidence was against him?

  • @truevoiceofsanity

Get up in gitmo cause he had a bear, was a muslim, and was in another country with some money and a organisation.

It dosent matter they dident find anything or he was the manager of a oprhanage, if you have a arabic name thats the only thing america needs to know.

  • @kefkahkefkah yeah exactly.

  • How do we no he's innocent?

How did he end up there?

  • maybe listen next time? did you not hear the entire part where they explain how hes innocent and how the u.s. picked him up?

  • @truevoiceofsanity

How do we know you're not a terrorist? Or just brain dead? Oh wait, we do know the latter..

  • Objectively speaking you don''t know.

You can't say truevoice is innocent, you simply can't say he was shown to be guilty.

I didn't say that I agree with punishing without evidence only that he might in fact have been guilty. I hope he is not guilty and dislike the idea of the US acting as bad as the Soviets while still critisizing Cuba.

  • He was proven to be innocent

  • Fair enough.

I don't remember if I listened to the whole vid or not

My point was that presume innocent doesn't mean innocent

He could still in fact have been a terrorist. So could I. So could you.

The question is whether the process convicting him could have persecuted an innocent man and the answer is thast it could.

  • Well, that's the point that the anchor is making. It wasn't the fact that this man was arrested which is shocking. It's the fact that the US army didn't do him the dignity of even questioning him after he had been arrested.

The army couldn't give a rat's ass about finding terrorists. They didn't care about innocence or guilt. They only needed targets to fulfill a political agenda.

  • isntthis terrorism

  • its unimaginable that those people never even got an apology, sad america

  • The people in the Bush Administration who supported this should be executed without a trial for holding people in torture chambers without sufficient evidence and doing so for political reasons. Who the fuck does America think it is? Snatching people without questions and from FOREIGN soil!? Other "allies" of the US should pressure on the US to stop its hennas human right violations.

  • Wow, to think that it only took the Bush administration 7 freakin' years to release an innocent man!

  • Anyone remember the Japanese internment camps of Naturalized canadian citizensduring WW2? Pearl Harbour was used as a nationalized fallen symbol similar to 911. Why the lack of transparency if evidence is so overwhelming of those only suspected of "terrorism"?

It only took the government half a century to publically apologize for detaining innocent citizens and without trial.

  • So I guess it would be ok to torture captured allied soldiers if our own can do so????

  • Bush and Cheney have created a bad precident. Now no American leaders will ever be held criminally responsible for anything they do.

  • Now the evil American Leaders have turned there sights on terrorist called the American People. Now Americans are the Terrorist. Now there are over 2 MILLION on the Terrorist no Fly no Buy list, 2 MILLION Americans thought to be Terrorist. No Court, No Law, No Due Process, No way to get off, Nobody to call. The Terrorist can never be found he has no identity and by setting our law against everyone like this was planed by intention. So now we all have become terrorist by design.

  • i wonder where he gets his news from.

  • when that poor man speaks you hear an honorable person. A beautiful person. it must confuse and terrify many many americans to see this and know in their hart what it says about them. Disgusting.

  • Bush is a fucking moron

  • where was this guy talking here in 2001?

  • Republicans are willing to sacrifice the innocent in order to retain political power and many of them will even admit it.

  • Wow, imagine being in that guy's shoes 7 years. I hope he gets what he needs because those years are gone.

  • BUSH SHOULD BE WATERBOARDED.

  • Over and over again.

  • @Mabuza14 Cheney too, even more times, or hang weights from his balls a little at time till they hit the ground!!THEN start over!!

  • Why?

  • @HATETHEUS Waste of good water.

  • And what's much worse is that this case is far from a one-off thing, this is happening far too regularly for Americans to call themselves progressive or the land of the free.

  • 'Sad story. It isn't right to keep someone locked up for that long without presenting evidence against them and giving the detainee a chance to defend themselves.

  • What a tired line.

  • I would like to see you walk SEVEN YEARS in this poor man's shoes.

I support the Armed Forces. I do not support the political decisions which have put them in such terrible positions.

  • 911 was inside job, Gitmo prisoners, all innocent, every one of them. The kleptocracy of us government conspires to steal wealth only, to make a few rich. All of the terrorism war is about stealing public funds to make a few rich. 911 was a total lie, and americans bought it, brainwashed and made stupid by mass media. Bush and Cheney should be tried for treason for which the death penalty applies. Wake up, stupd brainwashed americans, you;ve been lied to, just like vietnam, all for the bankers

  • Comment removed

  • not true

i believed that but then i though for a few days and it doesnt work 9/11 wasnt a inside job

  • This story made me cry. It's unbelievably horrific and outlines just how far the right will go to advance their own agendas.

  • wow, I just realized that bigots love the internet as much as normal people.

  • I feel like taking all of the Republicans in America who supported Bush, and questioning them on live television during an election year, "why did you allow the torture of innocent individuals? why were they denied their civil rights? And shouldn't you be held accountable as well for allowing such interrogations?"

Then we'll see how their war crimes stack up and their hypocrisy shine

  • I traitor to the U.S. is someone who supports the actions of people who would turn our government into the same oppressive type we revolted against.

  • The leader of the free world aye? Yeah right...

  • Yes, the gathering of racists and/or Republican robotards who didn't do the same when it was more called for when Bush was spending more than Obama ever could in the lie-induced Iraq war.

  • This story just makes you angry, it's beyond shameful and unjust what those bastards have done

  • Well, it's easy to have a lawless atmosphere when we elect a cowboy. Wild Wild West... er... Wild Wild Cuba.

  • What are we doing?

  • I'm an atheist, but I disagree, because I am also a student of history. There will always be some form of religion, and it is important to observe our past to better our future. Our history up to this point is deeply tied in with religion, and to eliminate it would be a crime against those who would study our past. Religion will slowly fade with time, and I think that's the best way for it to happen. An atheist who persecutes people of religion is no better than an inquisitor or a witch hunter.

  • I said "peacefully eliminated". You are talking about "persecute" which is irrelevant to my post.

  • Yeah, by persecute I even mean telling these people the error of their ways. I mean we should just let it play out, neutrally.

  • people fight on difference and religion is one of them..but if u see religion united quite many people and made the differences low..like muslims states are 58 n they use to never fight with each other..but when a nationalist goverment comes who has nothing to do with religion they make huge problems from small problems see btw alergia n morocco, iraq n iran, lebanon n syria. whn it was islamic government it use to be peaceful the fights were there but the unity n harmony was greater.

  • You know what, the only problem is the extremists of a religion. The actual religion isn't the problem. Yes the christians are fuck-tards but they aren't being violent about pushing their religion anymore. The extreme Muslims want everyone to believe in Islam or be blown up. The regular Muslims don't like those people and the Christians don't like them either. The religions are basically the same with a few differences and it would be stupid to kill each other for a different name for everything

  • How do we know if Osama bin Laden is guilty? Are you fucking kidding me? It is common knowledge that he is the leader of al-Quieda and he was the absolute mastermind behind all of the violence that group has caused. You're radical views sicken me because you want to give sympathy to people who want you dead. You think that American rights are global rights. They're not. Try to pull that trick in North Korea. Protest a little and see how many bullets will be shot at you by the N.K. military.

  • Considering how hell bent these guys are, waterboarding three guys who led and planned 9/11 seems acceptable. It is NOTHING like what the Vietcong did to our soldiers. Now I feel that what happened in this video is wrong, but every prision has one case similar to this. Gitmo is not that bad, I know someone who worked there. He saw the prision and he saw how the prisioners are treated and besides this guy and the threee leaders we had, no tourture happened.

  • "My religion is better then yours"

Your "religion" is a death cult, a flawed philosophy, a false religion based on a crazy mass murderer who made it up with evil Jinns. You have NO guarantee of salvation unless you're a suicide bomber martyr. Paradise for men is a lust filled pagan sex orgy? LOL!

Christianity is simple, NO pagan rituals, mindless Arabic chanting to mecca, moon god illa, no black rock Idol Kaaba dancing, animal sacrifice, just Jesus Christ's saving Grace & Salvation. Amen!

  • Are you suggesting that if everyone followed Christianity there wouldn't be any war or suffering. Christianity isn't so different than Islam. Christians have killed as many people as Muslims have over the past hundred years. Christianity is merely a belief and a way of life and it's not a way to salvation. Islam and "paganism" isn't why there is suffering in the world. It's radicals and extremists that are the cause of all the suffering in the world.

  • *they're*

  • your right lol being christian means you believe in stories that didnt ever happen and you believe in the sun not the son but the sun. good luck to all the sun worshippers lol christianity is a cult, islam is a way of life its not a religion. christians since the beginnig of time have gone around the world trying to dominate others they did it in all darker regions trying to christianize the world what did that get us? slavery, greed, racism, murder, rape and a bunch of fuckin stories.

  • "more freedom of temptation, to become ignorant?"

God gave us free will. God does NOT want people to be FORCED to do things, pray 5 times to pagan mecca in ARABIC?

I HAVE BEEN TO ISLAMIC COUNTRIES. They're the most repressed, poor, uneducated, ignorant, sad places on earth. NO ONE WANTS BARBARIC SHARIA LAW or to live in Medieval 7th Century.

"Your way of life is hazardous to mankind."

Islam is a false religon and ISLAMIC TERRORISM is hazardous to mankind, a cancer.

  • "You wish to turn Muslim countries into America ...."

NO, I don't care. I want muslim contries to stop terrirism, killing woman and forcing kids to have sex and marry old men.

Second all kinds of EVIL and sex, prostitution and drugs are in MUSLIM CONTRIES. So don't lie.

There is nothing wrong with music, a glass of wine or beer, sex with your wife and Burger King is GREAT, once or twice a month. Many islamic contires have America food and culture.

  • Do you think the guys at Gitmo honestly know who's innocent and who's not? No one's a mind reader. If Osama bin Laden was captured by us and sent to Gitmo, he'd make innocent claims like what this man did, but we all surely know that he's far from innocent. Yes this is bad but still, torture was a minority case in that prison. Only 3 people were waterboarded (and they were "higher up's"). B.T.W. Have you seen the actual prison? It's not that bad. It's just like our prisons. So why move them?

  • If an innocent person goes to prison, does that prove that all prisoners are innocent and that the prison should not exist?

  • No,

but it proves that u need to prove that somebody is guilty before locking him up for several years.

  • Always great Bud!

  • this is one of the things that scare me the most in life, when someone (or in this case a bunch of people who form up one government) can do anything they so choose. Hitler did it and was waaaaaaaaaay too close to ruling the world, its wrong and fucked up that anyone should be allowed above whats inherrently right and wrong, but whos gonna enforce it...

  • The reporter was only quoting the Bush administration to his credit.

  • and who run Guantanamo? you think the 1) England

    2) Yemen

    3) Austria

    4) USA

right it's number 4 USA, very smart

  • Great that you know and admit what you just said, the problem that the American standared in Human Rights is great and you hurt it, you actually hurt the whole world in way that "if the US do that we allowed to do far more worse things than that" this is the part we do not understand

  • lol how many fucking people in the U.S are in PRISON for LIFE for not doing anything? Fuck you Turks.

  • Don't be an idiot! Most of those people in U.S were wrongly convicted by a jury. That's a different situation. They kept him for years without trial. Now, we have reasons why we should close Gitmo. Advice for you, stop comparing orange and apple. You clearly display how dumb you are.

  • Oh and ask the Chinese-Muslims how was live in 7 years of Gitmo compared to Communist China.... " They said they would rather be at Gitmo, then China. They also hold NO grudges to U.S for holding them for 7 years :)

  • And of course that's a good reason for us to do the same thing to people all over the world, right .................. RRRRRRRright

  • jbianco93: "i researched this guy in Bosnia for a research paper a few monthes ago in my senior year of highschool"

    Pathetic.

  • i researched this guy in Bosnia for a research paper a few monthes ago in my senior year of highschool and in fact he was an alqaeda operative and was in direct contact with among leading alqaeda operatives. the tyt guy is a loser. Dude look at me, instead of revolving my life about making youtube vids nobdy watches, i worked hard and now i am going to columbia, i drive an infiniti SUV, geting a nice as apartment of 5th street, and a have a hot girlfriend. u suck at life. shoot urself indaface

  • Ain't you something!

  • this guy is marryed hmm he runs a radio show so u dont know anything u trol

  • loooooooooooooooooooosssssssserrrrrr! comie, anti american, loser fugly!

  • it just shows how cheap his show is and how it is made in his basement. look at the beggining at the clip.....u see the windows media player outline at the beginning so u know this show is made on his mothers computer.

And also i researched this guy and called people about this guy becasue i did a research paper about ths guy in my senior year in high school.

  • We still have idiots running the country. Nothing will get better until we send a clear message to all of our politicians. Vote them all out and start over. From biden & pelosi on the dem side to mccain & palin on the rep side. They all suck and are self-serving. Neither side care what the American people what or need.

  • Had this man been blond and blue eyed, he would have never been "of interest" to any "agents".

It looks like somehow the "US government" just wanted to have a fully booked Hotel Gitmo. This is disgusting! Bush and his cronies need to spend some time in "detention"!

  • Why hasnt the UN done anything to step in on the human rights issues of Gitmo? As guilty as I feel for not speaking out against this travesty earlier I feel anger towards those who had the power to stop this sort of abuse of power. o well from the spot I stand in now, all I can do is not let it happen again.

  • Come on xjv, who's poor, who's, and were fat becuase we can afford to eat well. HA Ha

  • Jealous that our GDP comprises more then any other country though.

  • i dont know how this guy does it....i would kill myself if i was in the situation...This guy has no hate..I would be full of anger...

  • well if he said he had anger. they would consider him a possible terrorist threat and send him back to guantoma bay for another 7 years

  • xjv8? You sir are an idiot. Go to school, read a book dumbass!! Not in any line of your two post could a find an actual coherant thought.

  • As I stated before; your rambling yielded nothing close to a coherant thought. The 9/11 attacks were committed by muslim extremist not Americans. Believing otherwise makes you an economy sized bag of douche. Having said that, take your sorry incoherant rambling ass back to school & educate yourself. And to answer your question; the only time mass murdering ppl is ok, is when the one being murdered are idiots such as yourself... nuff said
