Stargate Atlantis 'Enemy at the Gate' space battle.

I like this show but even I have to admit this is really silly. They used a wormhole drive to transport atlantis from the pegasus galaxy right to earth and there was an epic space battle followed by atlantis crash landing right outside of san fransisco or something and NO ONE SAW IT!

I have a question. Where the hell were the Jaffa? They were in just as much danger from a Wraith invasion of the Milky Way as Earth was. Or did they think that they would cull Earth and that would be the end of it?

@Fbueller129 since when have the Jaffa as a collective whole helped Earth when Earth faced a threat? BTW Earth's entire fleet of BC-304s (Minus the 'Odyssey) could not stop the ZPM powered wraith hive ship. What chance would a fleet of ha'taks have?

Still makes ma laugh how Atlantis itself if millions of years old (note the episode where it left earth and it said several million) And even if it was refitted and redone its still gone 15,000 years without and upgrades updates or fixes and yet the wraith still cant defeat it properly, its epicness in a city :D Atlantis forever

the ancients must have had a hard time with powering asicly the entire galaxy, i mean in one episode they show that the ancients basicly had an outpost on every planet in the entire galaxy, and each of those must have been run by ZPM's..... constant pwer outage

i think the "wormhole drive" was not needed...it just seems like it was pulled out of thin air...they should have just let atlantis make it under its own power then fight..

but you have to think about the hive ship too...it was a super hive pretty much...with a zpm powering its weapon systems...imagine how much energy it was able to put into each of those shots

atlantis with full power still should have easily spanked it

when they sent that other mckay back home they emptied a zpm in seconds... why here they can't do that..? this episode 20 threw everything out on the window. really the final episode blew it. sucked bigtime imho.

Ahem 3 zpms and the show isnt about Alantis itself its about Jhon's team and just based out of Alantis thus the team saved the day. Although i would personally loved to see Alantis itself rip that hive anew but alas wasn't what they wanted the episode to be.

It takes 3 ZPM's to fly with the city /leave the ground and the shield is also under considerable strain when in space/hyperspace and to add on top of all that the Hive ship was firing on them. If you factor all those in then yes 3 ZPM's can deplete quite quickly.

1. That does not mean they are invincible.

2. The Hive had a ZPM too.

Yer but what dont make senses is that in previous episodes the shield is invincible as long as it has power, but in the epp they make it have a % like the rest of the shields, I guess its to "add suspense".

Nah, the shield is impenetrable as long as it has power, but the shield generators can be overloaded if the shield takes too much punishment.

To be honest... it's really not...

They threw it in 10 minutes from the end of the series with absolutely no explanation except

"Something McKay has been working on."

Why have we never head of it before.... it's gay and it ruined the whole series.
