  • wow hell yea what a voice RIP babe xx

  • Ms Joplin, one of a kind...

  • I sampled this song...that beat was crazy!

  • Rest in Pieces Well Janis Joplin for what you have certainly done

  • @Larry731000 HAVING AN IDOL AND BEING WITH A NONWHITE MAN ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS ALL TOGETHER

If she was not against being with a nonwhite man then why was she NOT in relationship with one? My point about what I had earlier said is proven

  • @MultiBrain17 How old are you? I am 58 and from that generation. Anyone part of the Hippie revolution and that time was not caught up in ethnic or color lines. At our LOVE INS race did not matter men and women had lovers wives and or girlfriend of all races. It was part of our culture to LOVE without Prejudice. We looked at you heart what was on the inside not the outside.Janis did also!!!!!!

  • Janis Joplin would be against being with a black man

  • @MultiBrain17 Are you Kidding!!!!!!! Jimi Hendrix was her idol. She was the most pure spokes woman of her time. She was a true Hippie in all aspects ,to her like to all of us from that generation there were no color lines. LOVE-INS and our life syle crushed all prejudice. We did not care who you were it was what was inside your soul we cared about. From an aging Hippie who Misses those times of LOVE & COMPASSION to all !!!!!!!

  • @Larry731000 You won't like WW3 later this year so Larry

  • @itoldyousoisaid What is that suppose to mean!!! I am not afraid of war or rumors of war! Because besides being an aging Hippie I am also a Christian. My hope is not in this world. Most of the Hippies I know are today Christians. We still believe in Peace LOVE , Equal Rights for All, an end to poverty.an end to Incest and the sex slave market. We have just grown up !!!!

  • @Larry731000 I'm with you Larry but the times a coming when ya gotta fight for your beliefs - don't you think

  • @itoldyousoisaid Yes you do have to stand up for your beliefs but you also have to be willing to lay down your life for your brother. The same is true today as yesterday words of LOVE and Compassion dont mean much if you dont reach out to others in acts of service not worring about your needs.Get involved to make a difference by volunteering in a cause you have a passion for and fight for those who cant!!!!!!

  • @Larry731000 I'm fighting for mankind every day and i agree to lay down your life is the ultimate sacrifice.. Here's the thing though MOST people don't know who the REAL enemy is.. do you?

  • @itoldyousoisaid Yes I do. As I indicated before I have been a Christian since 1987. I have been with mission teams spreading the gospel in other coutries. I Am currently finishing up my studies to be a childrens pastor.Alot of us old Hippies turned to Christ And are now spreading the Gospel of Jesus around the world

  • @Larry731000

I get you man, love for our fellow man, this world would totally be a better place for it, peace

  • Janis Joplin would not have wanted to be with a black man

  • happy birthday dear Janis!!!

  • GOTTA LOVE.

  • She makes me cry like a little baby... just bawl my eyes out... it's not freaking normal to be able to do that to someone in like ten seconds... how can that much power and vulnerability coexist in the same person's voice/soul/being?

  • <3

  • Only going to be one of her~

  • Im only 12, but I dont (like any other kid) listen to that crappy music that's in the radio, but I listen to the "old" classics! Thumbs up for the music!

  • The Queen of Rock

  • When I was a teen in the 1960s, I was madly and passionately in love with Janis Joplin (by the time I'd reached 20 it became evident that it's better to be in love with someone you could actually go out on a date with :-) This is one of the best interpretation of a blues song ever. I saw her in live performance four times, and I cherish the memory.

  • beautiful pictures

  • Janis baby if you where still alive id have taken the whole fuckin' thing!!!!

  • god why couldn't I have been alive when this was current music :(. I get to have the crap like lady gaga and katy perry, we need more singers like Janis

  • Comment removed

  • just the best song ever!!!!!!!!!! jains joplin rocked B-)

  • I echo another comment: Time's have changed. But that doesn't mean the great counter-culture movement of the 60's and early 70's will never come back. Personally, I feel the world is ripe for a resurgance of peace, love, unity, environmental awareness...That's just me. But I truly believe it's going to happen again. There are many new generation hippies as well as old generation hippies. ;) They're just more spread out all over the world.

  • @NewGenerationHippies i am a child of the 60'sand70's..it was the best time of my life! Janis was the Greatest singer of all time. second was Tina Turner. you can't get any better than that! bring back the hippies..

  • children... this is music... she is a talented person

  • love this what a voice clapping rip my friend

  • Now I understand how Steven Tyler felt when he heard this song for the first time...This is so powerful! It's almost like some kind magic! Long Live Rock N'Roll

  • @DaltonAce hi can you tell what steven Tyler told that he felt about this song ? i would like to hear that..thanks a lot

  • @sailorydo "After seeing Janis, it almost seemed like you'd come from raise-the-tent, raise-your-spirit Pentecostal Holy Roller revelation-type thing. It was that kind of mind altering sound. And it was like, oh, my god! There was such a raunchy matter-of-factness, a drug-induced-sexy-animal-rush to the way she belted out 'Piece Of My Heart'. I mean, that was the shit! It was almost as if she gave her heart away a thousand times and never did quite get it back." This is from Steven Tyler's book

  • this kind of people don't get born everyday... why :(

  • Everytime I'm in a not so good mood I listen to her & automatically I feel better! I adore Janis! <3

  • I <3 this song so much!!

  • Some people had the ridiculous idea to compare lady gaga to Janis.....Janis was nothing short of amazing, her music was her and no one living or dead sang with more passion and pain....lady gag steals from Bette and Madonna then calls it her own....Pearl is a legend.....

  • Awesome song!! Why don't they make music like this anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @1sexykittykat Times have changed... egos are out of control

  • @PapaLesPaul ok, for the last time...your age isn't important, you can't represent an entire generation with your music tastes...I mean, it's brilliant ok...I'm young too, but I don't think I'm better than the other guys just for my music taste... Don't wanna be offensive, and don't wanna judge you! :)

(sorry for my bad english D:)

  • Damn, what an INCREDIBLE voice. People will still be listening to this long after many of todays' "musical artists" are long gone and nothing but a distant memory.

  • gwałcę przycisk "replay" <3

  • thank you queen

  • but the original of Erma Franklin is the best....

  • I can love this song forever. that's one thing i'm sure of

  • FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this woman..

  • thumbs up if ur here b/c of amelia lily

  • No one could be more amazing in person. to see her show up at a huge music event, like Devonshire Downs, in her little blue Snow suit, like a Russian Princess. you just can't understand, if you weren't there.

  • you rook the easy way out......babe.....will luv you forever......

  • She is good but Amy is better

    i'm from the 60'

  • @yoko59lee youre from the 60s but you should be tied to a chair and forced to drink apple juice for a week!! THIS IS JANIS FKN JOPLIN. Show some respect! Leave Amy Crackhouse out of this.

  • wow....must find the 14 people that disliked this song and kill them for the good of humanity

  • @quidda1 hahahahaaa!! A .357 or a .38? ,,,aww,,,I think both are too messy ..erm.....yea .... LOVE ya janisssss

  • greece love janis

  • @marketosdionisios yes she does

  • AAAWWW LOVES JANIS FOREVER AND EVER

  • she is my god.

  • @ChristellDeC Mine tooooo.

  • having said that, i don't approve heroin it's truly bad for most people. After all it cuts both ways and like everything addictive it's very dangerous. It can make you and the people around you miserable and posses you but some of the greatest art is made under it's influence. Happiness and misery are equally good in terms of art. I just don't like how people degrade it and never think about it's essence (like so many other things) it was thought to be the greatest medicine ever invented once.

  • mind that without heroin and the other shit she did to get her kicks she would never do what she did musically. Drugs are a catalyst, they are an experience and art is an interpretation of experience. It's the same with love. Heroin is a great part of the pain in her voice. It kills but life kills anyway. The more you live and think and experience the more you kill yourself. And that's why people tend not to do these things cause of their survival instinct and fear of death.

  • She injected a street mix that was normally about 3% pure, but on this occasion was nearly 40% pure. Eight other people died from an overdose of the same mix. Heroin is identical to morphine in its effects, and is actually slightlly less addictive, but when you demonize it and make it illegal, then it becomes a dangerous game of Russian roulette rather than a pain-killing opiate

  • 2:54 .... Isn't that the sexiest thing you've ever seen?

  • >implying that this isn't the best female singer not named Aretha of all time

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • What the fuck are the two comments under me ?
