This was not a debate. It was a show of proper respect. Dr. West has a huge amount of respect for Dr. Clarke he wasnt debating him. She asked him questions and did not refute the answers. He was being taught just like the students. Dr. Clarke is one of a kind. I miss him. Dr. West won alot of respect from with his show of respect to Dr. Clarke. When I first seen the link I was offended that West would dare debate Clarke. And I was right about West.
@josephbel for Afrikans to have colonized there would have to be somebody living there..not to mention when they did go to other peoples places of living..they DIDNT rape, steal, and destroy!!!!!
@muffinman5323 Check the work of the Late Dr. Anta Diopp. Says who that blacks ar immune from commiting atrocities when invading other lands.Boy, you and the Dr. have a very selective memory. Egypt history is filled with wars and battles with the darker africans. There are many others of course. Still happens to this day at a smaller scale.
I am black and I feel like i do not need to type a comment to understand what the Grand Master Teacher is teaching. I am sure that alot more of my brothers and sisters are hear also and are paying strict attention to the knowledge that is being passes. Hotep
the crowd sounds like they're instigating a fight between two drunks on the street, not like mentally, physically, and emotionally enlightened individuals. Have your fun after the work of serious debate. Take yourself seriously.
It is a gathering...analogous to what happens in a village square in our own land. You have to understand we are inherently an organic people, no scripts to say when to clap, no hushing people because respect is implied by "instigating" as you claim, understand the context...next time you go to a Black owned barber shop or Black church you will see this duplicated 10fold...
@sixers0126 Since we are the originators of civilization, I see no reason to assume that europeans invented serious discussion, or quiet contemplation. We do not have to be one way, disavowing all others. I love a good debate as much as anyone, and I was cheering Dr. Clarke on myself.
how is that comment about saying that to an Israeli a shocking line? It wasn't.

"You wouldn't say that to an Israeli."
If this were a debate, that would have ended it.

I love the moment when Clarke checks West with his statement about Pan-African nationalism: "You wouldn't say that to an Israeli".
First and only time I've seen West stammer. Clarke was a true master teacher.

So it was OK for Africans to colonize the world for thousands of years.
How long did Africans colonized the world?
How long have the africans been colonized?
Dr Clarck may he rest in peace finds it easy to criticize others but not himself
For example the Gaddafi issue.
