could this harm my computer? i have an old 2003 Dell Laptop that has been fixed so many times that i've been working on to make faster. I've already done what it says in the video, but could these settings later on harm my computer?
sorry but i dont think that you should do that becousee u do not allow the services to save the things they want to and my computer has this setting to 30.000
i dont know if i should modify it and i dont recommend it
Actually 5000 stands for 5000 Milliseconds which equals 5 Seconds so that is the optimal time to wait for processes to end, then to make boot time 0 that actually gonna make you're computer not even hardly faster as 3 seconds are quite enough because if or when you have multiple OSs making it 0 won't leave you time to choose which OS you want to startup
Wow! It really worked!!! My startup is now faster than before (before that, the startup was about 5 min) and shutting down my computer a little. Thanks
i dont have a wait to kill service i only have the very top option what can i do ive done the rest to make it faster and it seems to be quicker thanks any help with why i dont have this would be much appreciated
The timeout is actually the time it takes upon powering up your system to boot the default operating system, if you dual boot for example more than one version of Windows let's say Vista and XP and Vista is your default, setting the timeout to 3 sec. for example will select Vista as the system to boot if no choice is made within 3 sec. or 6 sec. or 147sec depending on what you set it to.
Wonderfull.. it works!!!!
