  • I love the cartoon style! However, I feel that that the animation was too sharp. But I LOVE the song, and the Plot.

  • 4:30-4:32 made me laugh out loud. xD

  • Comment removed

  • DANG what animation style is this?!?! That was very entertaining to watch, thank you!

  • thumbs if youre still listening to this in 2011

  • @fishcakefartopolis still listening in 2012 :)

  • This song gives me chills, and the video is amazing!!! <3 you Ludo!

  • I listened to this all day in August when the Libyan rebels were pushing into Tripoli!!!

  • I always get chills at 4:49

  • @theCrowing29 I get chills at 4:14 - 4:50

  • If you listen to the rest of the album they lose and are getting killed off till The Traveler comes back

  • I LOVE LUDO!!!!!!! SOOO MUCH!!! ...like it's not health..... if I keep listening to them I might turn into a zombie myself... not that I'd care I mean? Zombies and Ludo?!?! what more could there be to life?! :D

  • Why is there no animated version for The Lamb and the Dragon?! This song and that one are the two most epic songs on the album. I hope they make a video for number 4 as well.

  • @amberae The lead singer Andrew Volpe said that it wouldn't do the songs justice if he made more animated videos though he thought about it, so he's writting a book for the Broken Bride then he said he might finish the video series or make a movie for it.

  • I wanted to do this rock operetta for our Soldier's Theatre but the director's a total zed and wouldn't let us. Instead I'm doing this song for my lyrical recital. The judges' faces when they hear 'the zombies are marching' will be PRICELESS!

  • i love broken bride and the first time i heard this, i though i could take on the world. LOVE IT.

  • there are very few songs that make you want to stand up for yourself, that make you want to fight for what you believe in, that make you truly feel like you can do anything, and this is one of them.

    you have my applause.

  • Every time I listen to this, right before he says "rise and fight", I always expect him to say "rock and roll". I'm weird.

  • Fuck my city. I'm looting.

  • im playing dead island blasting this

  • This totally butchers the song

  • That's how you fight zombies: equal parts faith and decapitation. Decapitation puts the zombie back in the ground and faith stops you joining them.

  • this and as the bell tolls are my zombie tunes of all time :P

theres just something about junjun junjun jaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • someone needs to make an opera out of their songs.

  • @tlrxlver

It's part of an opera called Broken Bride.

  • Comment removed

  • People have. I'm part of a group doing it now at UTK. We're even in Wikipedia ;D

  • this was amazing!

  • This music video sucks ass and ruins the song.

  • Seeing them in STL!! :D

  • NomNomNom.

Can't WAIT to see them in NYC during Space Dracula's Basketball Expo! Thumbs up if you'll see/have seen one of the shows on the tour!

  • @torixTRIASSIC I'm seeing them in Boston (hopefully)

  • I personally loved the video, almost as much as I love the song!

  • fuck, this is an amazing song

  • I just got chills all over.

  • This song and video make me cry like an idiot for some reason. ;_;

  • this is a word to describe everything put together: beautiful :3

  • powerful music, good riffs, interesting animation

  • "Anything can be a weapon if you're holding it right!"

  • am I the only one who actually likes the video?

  • wow, such an awful video for such an amazing song.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but when the living dead are trying to eat me, I am screaming this at the top of my lungs

  • ironically i heard this song right when i found out about CDC's warning of a zombie apocalypse google it, i beleive it

  • I like the song, but the video bugs me . . . I guess I'm just used to a different mental picture

  • That grandma owned that fuker. lol

  • How on EARTH could 26 people dislike this?!

  • @ShadowBlade448

    I'd blame the video itself.

    Best song ever, though.

  • i love how i can't tell if this is 2d or 3d XD adds super crazy awesome effect to it

  • this is some really impressive stuff and suits the song perfectly. directory should be very proud of himself...

  • 26 people are zombies :P

  • fucking spectacular song. makes me glad the music industry hasn't COMPLETELY gone to shit.

  • Ludo is the best band ever i love his voice. I memorized all of his songs becuas him love him so freakin much. I LOVE LUDO! Also i love the passion he puts into his music. It makes me want to put those lyrics into my life..... think about it.........

  • i think it would be so flippin funny if everyone in the world started listening to this RIGHT BEFORE THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!!!!!lol....i'm very weird also,is it odd this song reminds me of H.O.T.D?

  • is "a zombie invasion" all any of you got from this video? look deeper.

  • I love this song! And agree with it being a perfect zombie apocalypse anthem!! But I also agree with ArtisticChris-- (I personally like my Resident Evil tribute better, "Save Raccoon City) :p It's not one of my animated ones, but still, this is a great song for it!

  • Dude, I freaking choke up EVERY TIME I hear this song. Psht it's just amazing.

  • 4:30

    "Ma'am, may I-"

    "FUCK YOURSELF, ZOMBIE."

  • the kid with the hoodie is probably a hunter.

  • @Skitzo4dhuntersYAY HES A SPY! :p

  • I love this song SO MUCH-- who the hell made the animation for the video though? I want to stick them in the eye-- Sometimes I like the video because it HINTS towards potential, then the animation goes all wonky and poorly done. I demand someone with real skill redo this video. And I demand that the person who animated this gets banned from 3dmax/zbrush/mana/whatever the heck he pooped this on.

PS; this song is pretty much in inspiration for a comic I'm writing! It's an amazing song!!

  • @ArtisticChris Totally freakin' agree. Haha

  • Arise my soldiers of Death!follow my march to glory! All will end and from the ashes my pure army will sit on the top...All will end!all will fall! And we will stand on the top...Go... and bring my rightous hand's strings to all who cannot be tamed...All will be controled...all who fall will be given back what they had lost...We will carve the path to Salvation and we will be the instrument of

Vengence and Control!Follow your king!Follow your king!Follow...your.....you...ugh... -The king's words

  • at the part where it says "With a blast like the sun, his lips are unwrapped from the barrel of his gun" the mayor shots himself, not turn into a zombie

  • @shanedawsonluver13 he was going to but he went suiside before he could.

  • this song is fuckin EPIC Ludo is one of the only REAL bands left.

  • All I can think about is 'Oh look, theres Link! Off to save the whole world again.'

  • I'm unable to find the words to describe how amazing this song is. I feel like I have go out and fight zombies or protect humanity or something else completely epic. Go Ludo!!! And hey, has anyone found music videos for the other songs in the album??

  • Goosebumps, man. There's a time to pray and there's a time to fight - Soldiers rising from their trenches to face the inevitable, the endless onslaught of undead to save those civilians behind them a few more minutes of life. Praying to save themselves and their city, for the impossible.

    Goosebumps.

  • This song gives me so many wicked emotions, anger, happiness, empathy and relization just to name a few. FUCKING EPIC.

(side note- Ludo Doesnt have the funding of say.. Avenged Sevenfold.. You cant expect them to have super awesome quality vids just yet )

  • This video is blah, which is a damn shame cause the song is one of the most epic songs ever

  • Awwwwwww 25 people missed the like button. Sad story.

  • Best part of the video at @4:30. xD

  • lol monopoly man turns evil tats a new one :(

  • Stumbling over this after (re-)reading 'World War Z' just today feels kinda weird.

  • Did I just hear the theme song to the Zombie Apocalypse? I think I did

  • epic pedo stache

  • The music video isn't horrible, but the song shows it up. :P I wanna see the band do one that ISN'T animated. That would be AMAZING!

Almost as amazing as when I saw this song LIVE! =]

  • this song gives me chills. especially from "there's a time to pray and there's a time to fight." on. p.s. Im totally blasting this during the zombie apocalypse XD

  • @TheSTLnick I'm Totally With You On This. Giant Speakers Blasting This Song While We Blow The Heads Of Zombies.(:

  • @TheSTLnick I'm down with that.

  • @TheSTLnick Oh hell yeah! im with ya there!

  • umm actually at the end of the rock opera i believe that the guy's time machine is destroyed. then angels hear his cries and they allow him to spend one more day with the woman that he loved. Also the people don't win they all get attacked by a dragon and pretty much die. So i think religion does play a part in the song. Have you actually listened to the opera?

  • i liked it. i especially like the part with the paper airplane, issuing a challenge to the king and inspiring the people to hope and to fight. its interesting; it seems like the mayor wrote it, but he ended in despair, while the kid turns it around into a rallying point for hope. this song - and the entire album - is so freaking epic! :) :)

  • 4:30

    old lady beats up zombie.

    classic ahahaha [:

  • I like turtles.

  • watch mine?

  • It looks like computer animation, but the models are moving like a stop animation. I like it.

  • i liked this video. it just goes to show ya. even in the face of overwhelming odds and certain death a firm belief in God and an insane amount of hope you can conquer anything.

  • @randomnekokid Just because you believe in God doesn't mean God exists or that he's helping you. Hope and determination is what got the people through. They conquered the odds and won through the power of will, not because a magic being saved them. These people saved themselves, even if they choose to give God the credit rather than realize their own worth and know they pulled themselves through. A belief in something doesn't make it so. Religion isn't the driving force behind the song.

  • @randomnekokid not exactly. The song basically is saying that when god or some higher power can't help us we the people will find away to fight of evil, or crap

  • 1:24

    mayor's hand, lolwut?

  • This video has good elements (the music, obviously, and certain scenes) but the photography and the way the scenes line up with the music is utter crap. I like it, because it's a passable rendition, but it's not what the proper music video fo this song should be. 1 out of five stars, and it only gets that much because 'Save Our City' was the song, because it showed King Simus, and because of that kick-butt scene with the sun shining on the last of the human resistance rising up.

  • 4:32 Old lady backhands a zombie... wtf?

  • @potatoXmosher That part made me laugh my ass off... It looks almost as if she was happy with the entire situation

  • And a child shall lead them

  • honestly i agree that the vid does song no justice, but its not the creators fault. no video could ever do this song justice.

  • I just feel like Ludo can do no wrong.

  • my new official zombie fighting theme song (:

  • Stop dissing the vid Ludo made and its the official.

  • those guys who got the most thumbs up

fuck off he/she did the best they could and it was a personal interest

you have no positive comments then you go make your own video and see how easy it is

  • make videos for this whole album!!!! IT NEEDS TO BE MADE!!!!IT WOULD WIN EVERY AWARD, FOR BEST STORYLINE!!!

  • Damn that kid's got an arm! That paper plane stayed afloat for quite a while. Too bad the mayor , the king and the zombies are in cahoots!

  • i liked it o.O i mean, i didn't expect it to jizz gold...i expect that only of ludo anyway. hopefully they'll make a video +P

  • @unnatural Unfortunately, this *is* the official 'Save Our City' video.

  • im really glad theres a video and even it its own level of awesome, its not the same one as the song. this song, both CD and more so live, gives me chills. but hey, at least its a video :D

  • Did anyone from the company watch 4:32 and said...crap were getting fired ?

  • the grapics vaguely remind me of The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker.

  • This video was okay mean like they could of ave the zombie and people fighitng at the part when the boy on the ledge they ust could of done wybetterthan wat they did but the song is flawless love it

  • meh. I think the animation was okay, but Ludo's music was better. I got the theme, but I don't really think that was what Ludo was trying to say.

  • I feel like it was stronger at the beginning, and got a little poor in the middle, and got strong again at the end, I mean I personally got what the animator was trying to do, but that is just me. Could have been done better but I certainly would not condemn it.

  • XD I have little critisism for the animater in this case. I couldn't have done better. *shrug* When you inspired by music and choose to create you sometimes don't represent the message other people got from it well or at all. Sooo~ yeah. XD the vid does no justice for the song. Oh well, it wasn't that bad.

  • I think the animation is harmless enough, but I'm going to have to disagree with whiteygirl18 about the POV of this song. This song can't be from the child's POV since the lyrics aren't in first person, unlike the songs with the Traveller in it. So, really, there is no reason for there not to be some serious blood and violence here.

And I hate it when people criticize critics with "Could you do better". My answer is "No, that's why I didn't try, asshole!" If you're gonna make it, make it well!

  • @ cwc4, there is a bit of a rock opera made out of it... it was played at a few local colleges with permission from Ludo by the college theater groups

  • For what this is, I am content with this animation. I really want The Broken Bride made into the rock opera it deserves to be. Maybe soon? American Idiot was turned into a Broadway production, so why not this?

  • @cwc4 I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS! the next goth rock opera in progress! it would be epic and amazing!

  • Wow, all of you guys need to calm down, it's just an animation. I liked it, and the granny with the cane most definetely owns.

  • I like it:]

  • no no you guys all miss the point. this song is told from the perspective of a child watching his city be destroyed and crying out for help. the video being as crude as it is helps reflect the childlike innocence and basic thoughts. it is told from a child and it needs to be "shot" like a child has done it. the animation is supposed to be slightly crude and childlike. its the point.. thinnk aobut the meaning of the song and you may see where im coming form.

  • @whiteygirl18 = fail. the album is an opera about a man trying to save his wife.

  • @skamaestro911 Yeah, it's a concept album, this may as well be an interlude.

    whiteygirl18, get your shit together.

    great song, though.

    SHIT video.

  • @6x14ludwig1992 you know what.. interlude or whatever... i dont get why people like you get so incredibly defensive about the music. yes. it IS a Concept album. i GET that. i am not STUPID. ok? everyone finds thier own meanings in songs based on thier own life expireinces. get your shit together and try to understand where others may be coming from.

  • @skamaestro911 i know this but the overlying meaning of this song is not what the underlying metaphorical meaning is....most songs have a surface meaning, what most of the audience will get out of it, then there is the second meaning, the one the artist meant. this meaning is usually metaphorical and most do not read into the song this way... obviously ludo wouldnt write a song with no meaning, or a song that didnt fit into thier album. i am fully aware of what the album is about. so you =fail!

  • @whiteygirl18 but the meaning is LITERAL. its a story

  • @6x14ludwig1992 but thats the beauty of music yes ther is a literal meaning but there is also the metaphorical meaning:) but if you dont have another meaning that up to you .. music is personal.. dont knock me because i look deeper.

  • @whiteygirl18 Ummm...yeah. This song may have a metaphorical meaning, but I think this is more or less just exposition since the main story is about The Traveller. I don't knock you that you look deeper, but I do knock you for being condescending about it.

  • @MsEmizzleFizzle actually i wasnt being condescending but if thats the way it came across in type then i apologize for not communicating that better. :)

  • I freakin love this. I'd love to see the people complaining do better, it's an amazing song and the video made me smile, so good job. Screw these people that don't like this, good job animators.

  • You jackasses need to shu up. It may not be the best directed or best made video ever, but it i the official music video. As if you could have made anything better.

  • i had to stop watching at 41 seconds. this is not the way it should be. if i can get moviemaker to work i shall honor this song with a proper amv.

  • Ummm...one question. Where's the violent aspect of it??? The video didn't show the mayor killing himself! It didn't even show him pointing a gun at himself!?!?! And, the way I pictured it, there was this massive battle going on and the human soldiers were getting their butts kicked, hence the soldiers sagging in the mud. But, all we have is some starry eyed boy looking up. It's not nearly as powerful because we don't have the darkness contrasting with the uplifting.

  • And, oh yeah. The Dragon is the FREAKIN DEVIL!!!! Not some weird Samurai Jack look-a-like.

  • Yeah the song is so much more epic than the video

  • You know, at first I thought all your comments were horribly over critical and exaggerated. But after almost 7 minutes of my life has passed I must agree. That wasn't at all up to par with the song.

  • at 4:32 check out granny,

    beastly zombie killer.

  • this video is so shitty. i just..ugh. it's terrible.

  • i seem to always come back to this song by accident. maybe its a sign :)

  • so not how i saw it at all....i made up an opretic theatrical in my head and god it was wonderus if i had the money and the time i would love to put it together id need actors and singers...i really want to do it just o make a vid that makes some since and is worthy of ludo

  • This video is awful, but I love the band. Ludo deserves better than this.

  • I like everything but the character designs. Way to american animu-esque.

    So much potential...

  • at 1:42 did the mayor become a zombie?

  • @Joshthedominator I think yes o.o

  • @MarinaIsHere Yeah, he started to become a zombie and then shot himself in the head. Its in the lyric if you listen closely.

  • I figure Ludo had this animation done themselves. It's on their site.

  • I am somewhat confused. What exactly caused the dead to rise. The lyrics first point to being caused by god ("tyrant god" and "troops heaven sent"). However, when the dead sing, it is mentioned that they served the king (King Simius?) and they are called by the "dragon" (it is possible it is not a real dragon but the machine used to bring the dead to life, the traveler uses his own 'dragon' which was the time machine). Not to mention the Mayor kills himself because he followed Simius.

  • @Soultwist3r

The 'dragon' is the devil, as it is throughout the Broken Bride album.

  • ya'll don't know what chu talkin about! this video is great! bitch please!

  • This is pretty bad, but it is 5000 times better than the terrible, offensive, and downright awful Final Fantasy mash-ups out there.

  • Well... It could be better. Wish I had the resources to direct and shoot my own... Oh well.

  • I think the art looks really cool, but it doesn't totally fit with the song.

  • This video does absolutely no justice to the song. I just.. I can't believe it.

  • No no no no no no NO NO NO.

    N-O.

This is not as epic as I seen it going down in my head and this video RUINED that perfect thought. Damn. DAMN.

  • It's a man, not a boy, who delivers the terrible news to the oblivious mayor, GET IT RIGHT!

  • @myfatson In the lyrics, "Little boy" and "boy" are used to describe the messenger while man is only used to describe the Mayor.

  • I think the video sums up the mood of the song pretty well...

  • i looooove the song but i don't know if the cartoon is my favorite...

  • This is my favorite song by Ludo, by far...But I'm not especially taken with the video. It stops and starts too much for me...I dunno. It doesn't do it enough justice.

  • That was really well done!!! Kudos!!!

  • I love the video I also love the fact that it was in animation sure it might have been a little choppy but you have to realize that stuff takes money I thought it was perfectly fine it potrayed the song perfectly I wish the rest of Broken bride was like this (there aren't even any for them) I especially love the way the boy was potrayed

  • This is a great song, but its just nothing with out the 4 other songs.

    But still awesome.

Imma go listen to the whole thing now ^_^

  • Love the Song! Love the Video! The main boy reminds me of Link for some reason... It was what I was imagining (with a view differences.) For some reason I thought we would get to see the major shoot himself, I'm a little dark. Love it! Love it! the animation was different and it was refreshing.

  • I adore this song, but that video was terrible. It has nothing to do with it being animation; it has everything to do with being a horribly composed and drawn animation. I'm so sorry, Ludo.

  • @souriiant I agree SO MUCH. Fuck.

  • Comment removed

  • Is it me or does the mayor look like the Monopoly guy in the beginning?

    = D

  • @Chagrinnedsenseless

so true he looks like the monopoly man haha

  • I would love to see the band swinging equipment at zombies as they invade.... not THAT would be Ludo-like. I am not too disappointed, but I WOULD love to see a video with real people.... Someone should MAKE one!

  • Im so confused by the comments below! I didnt think the video was that bad!

  • I adore the song, but that video is terrible.

  • Eh. Kinda disappointing. I hope they revise it someday with real people.

  • Great song, Love Ludo, But This Video Blows.

  • aw....i was kinda hoping for real people. and blood splatters and stuff.
