Statistically when reed and troy both played safety ed reed was on track to set 3 records for most int's, most int return yards and tackles, troy polamalu is not expected to be in the top 90 of any of those categories, however after reed got his neck injury he's never going to be full health. Even though he missed the first 6 games of a season he still had the most int's of the NFL that year with 8. Obviously reed is better.

Reed by far! Troy cannot cover worth a damn, as we saw in the last Superbowl. Troy gets an acrobatic INT or sack every couple of games, but gets burned more than he should, as we saw in the last Superbowl. Reed has more than double the INTs and is far more consistent. I'm not sure Troy is even a top 5 safety. I think he gets lucky because the Steelers LBs fluster opposing QBs into making mistakes that Troy gets credit for. Steelers have better LBs than the Ravens, but Reed is the better safety.
