Thank you so much for posting this. It's been almost twenty years since I've heard this version of "Here's My Heart"--SOOO superior to the soundtrack version. Pat could bring the house down by singing the song this way as a concert finale. I only wish she would!
@AnoziraNoscut It's out on Blu-Ray, DVD and Netflix Instant Queue. You do know that, right? If not, now is your chance to check it out. I just watched it for the first time a few weeks ago, and my goodness, it's worlds apart from the original, but it's still an artifact I'm glad I saw.
I also can't understand why they never released this far superior version. It was EPIC in a theater in 1984, made the ending really resonate and left you very, very moved. Even if you were only 18. :) I remember the album had lyrics printed in it that didn't match either version--must have been a bit of a rush job, ha ha
@SunshineSlayer True, it does have a different version of the song on it. I felt the same way when I heard the CD version of Here's My Heart. It would be nice to have both versions. Both have their merits but I do love the movie version better.
@in2pat I'm afraid you can't find it to download. I created this three-part version myself, which I took directly from the audio of Giorgio Moroder's 1984 remake of Fritz Lang's film Metropolis. It's a shame that the actual recording of the song, featured on the 'original' soundtrack to this film, has a completely different arrangement. I think that this version is far superior.
@freezetomorrow , They were trying to push the other version of "HMH" as a single for all of a week or so. I even heard it on two aor stations, back in the day.
Nice job.. yeah this version is much more magical and timeless than the album version.

@AiSidne The version that is on the CD soundtrack is completely different from this (and not as good).
