This was my favorite intro on HBO, of all their 1980's & 1990's intro's. I've had HBO since 1980 (32 years) and I live for this 1982 intro. I sometimes looked forward to seeing this exact intro, more than seeing the movie that followed it. Thanks for posting this......... :))
God I miss those youthful days of being a kid when life offered so much hope, mystery and promise. Seeing this (over and over again) made me miss such days. Two thumbs way up!
dame is all I have to say I agree with a few of you is that when they played this intro you knew the movie was goin to be kick azz. I miss the old days
This used to scare the hell out of me when I was smaller; it was a combination of the ominous music and the ominous entrance of the HBO logo. Looking at it once again today, I can see how it was pretty cool for its time, and of course it no longer scares the life outta me. Thumbs-up if this Feature Presentation intro scared the wits outta you back in the day.
So this intro started when I was 1 and lasted all the way until 1999 when I was 18. I remember this when I watching HBO one night and was like holy shit! This HBO is still airing. It shocked me!
I love it! Life before and after PAX TV the world's most mediocre and mind-bogglingly boring tv stations on earth which went off the aire on July 2005 and eventually faded away while HBO especially classic HBO lives on!
@bettyfelon1 Was really cool to see the town models and all the moving cars, lights and whatnot... especially for a little kid, like I was at the time.
Aaah. All the R-rated movies I watched as an 8-year-old started with this. The memories. Where can I find a higher resolution version of this?

After watching this epic piece of nostaliga I think we can all agree this is one of those very rare moments when a man is allowed to cry.

Sometimes they would show this five minute film that explained how they made that intro.
