It was written by John Hurley and Ronnie Wilkins, "Son of a Preacher Man" was originally offered to Aretha Franklin, who turned it down. It was only upon hearing Springfield's version that Franklin reconsidered and recorded the song herself. i can't figure out why "Billy Ray" was the name chosen

I love this song. Reminds me of Pulp Fiction every time. haha. You sang it well. Rushed in a few spots and choked up a little at "Stealing kisses from me on the side", BUT you recovered nicely and I enjoyed it. Also, remember don't just sing the song, live the song. You are telling a story not only with words, but your performance. Sing it with conviction. That will push you from being a good singer, into being a GREAT singer. And I agree with Sami, you look great. Can't wait to hear more. :-)

You are welcome. One thing I forgot to mention. You and Sami both have something money can't buy... Talent. People practice and practice and still don't sound as good as you do. Some singers just have a natural gift. So keep practicing and never give up. You are in a good spot. You can only go up.
