When they do improperly feed, it's called a malfunction. I submit that if you don't use inferior ammo, (or the wrong ammo, such as non-jacketed), which you will discover if you practice with your ammo, (as you should be doing), a good semi-auto will be as reliable as a revolver

Revolvers are also much slower to reload

But, there is nothing wrong with using a revolver. It is better than standing there using foul language to protect yourself :)
