I believe the Alfred Bog is a peat moss bog. and the bog myrtle comes from Quebec in the Algonquin park area. it is Gruit Ale what ever that is I have never had a gruit beer
@BrewByMe I've heard of Gruit Ales as being traditional-styled, the precursor to Hops in beers basically. A Belgian Dubbel-style yeast with a Gruit character sounds very intriguing to say the least.
@BrewByMe That's awesome, makes them cooler that they're from the brewery. I'll be sending the brews for sure once I'm finished packing them. One of the ones I'm sending you came from the brewery as well. I'll also start gathering a couple more beers to send at a later date, I still have the Pumphouse Cadian and Garrsion Tall Ship, and Pump House just released their Lager in bottles, so I'll be grabbing a 24 of them soon. Cheers!
@mrgrimviking My fridge looks like it was stomped on by awesome! I'm literally almost resorting to storing beer on the floor. I'm storing all non-spoiling beers in cupboards and I had to take stuff out of the fridge to put groceries away. God knows where I'll put tonights KFC leftovers. I wonder if I can put the High ABV beers in the freezer without them freezing... Cheers!
@maddmaxstar hey if you have a cool area in the house like a basment with no light and fairly cool then you should be fine or a room similar. I wish you could see all the brews I have there everywere in boxes right now cause I am renovating the basement were they all stayed at one time.
@BrewByMe I'm considering taking HeistAlmighty up on his offer to store my cellerable stuff over at his place in his basement (he just bought a 100yr old house with a rock foundation in October), but worried if the beer will freeze there over the winter. I live in a basement level apartment, the coolest area is by the front door where it gets chilly, which is where your box is now, but not a whole lot of storage space for that stuff :P
@elharlock Awesome, that'll certainly keep the channel rolling for a while. Hope he spoils you too, it'll make for some good wintertime watching. Cheers!
@albnorhyno Cool, I always thought it was from the Albany area for some reason since Chad'z Beer Reviews reviews alot of their stuff. Still pretty cool to finally see one of these.
@maddmaxstar They have a mamoth distributon, going to 28 states, Australia, Denmark, Japan, Phillipines, Singapore, BC and Ontario. It is slightly sick.
@albnorhyno Yikes, didn't know they were that widespread. I'd love to see them here, although hell would freeze over first before ANBL changes their stock of craft beer.
@Heistalmighty Hah! I just ran it through Google Translate, it literally means "Gas Blast" Wonder if it's bottled on lees. I've had enough issues like that for one week.

I enjoyed coup de grisou though it has quite large snotty bits.
albnorhyno 3 months ago
@albnorhyno So does 'Coup de Grisou' translated mean 'Cup of Grissle'?
maddmaxstar 3 months ago
@maddmaxstar Apparently it roughly translates as "Coalmine gas explosion". Hopefully that isn't what will happen to us if we drink it.
