  • how many times have you done this sequence?

  • @Alex2424121 This would be the 4th, I'm working on the 5th, right now.

  • @CJCA915 guys like you get better at this everyday. I love your Star Trek

  • Really well done...certainly gives the best TMP CGI vids out there a run for their money according to my mk1 eyeballs. I really liked that you faithfully reproduced nuances such as the curving flight path when the big E goes to impulse and when it approaches Jupiter.

  • wonderful job done there.

  • Nice job. Just ignore the assholes.

  • way better looking enterprise than recent so-called trek movie. abrams should be banned from making anymore this one short vid was better than the garbage that vorta put out a couple of years ago

  • Sweet!

  • The great thing about this masterful work is that all the elements of the movie have been preserved and improved without the "blemishes" of rotoscope bleed evident in the film version when the E passes in front of Jupiter. My request for any possible version 5:

1/ Put the astronaut in doing the drydock flip as well as all the "carrybee" craft, as GalacticaDude requested.

2/ I'd love to see something in the portholes of the ship as you have done with the rear observation deck.

    Top marks!!!

  • @tripsadelica Right now, I'm working on the battle from the DS9 episode "The Jem'Hadar" I've been working on some models, to do a version 5... I still need to acquire a few models, etc. then I'll gladly do a version 5.

Yes, I've got the blu-ray version of TMP, so I may rotoscope the little dude that flips... because I'm not quite that good in character animation...

Well, the observation deck is created by the modeler... but I can see what I can do about all the other windows...

  • @CJCA915 Well that is good news! I'll be looking forward to it.

  • CGI sucks looks cartoonish, so go and slap yourself!

  • @Uberdude25 Constructive criticism one thing your comment was not.

  • @CJCA915 what are you talkign about, its almost perfect, apart from that cartoonish deflector dish!

  • @CaptainJahangir99 I was referring to the past after the comma... I'm kinda in pain, so I'm a little testy...

  • @CaptainJahangir99 As for the deflector dish... when I get up the energy, I made major alterations to the colors, etc. of the model, I also acquired a much more realistic drydock... that I'll use.

  • impressive well done

  • I can't even watch this version without crying.

    She's beautiful

  • man that was the best reproduction ever!!!

  • Impressive! All it needs is an astronaut doing a flip in the drydock, loved that part.

  • @Galacticadude In v5 if I make it, I'll see if I can roto in the little guy from the movie.

  • That was absolutely gorgeous

The only thing I think needs work is the ship (i.e. some of the flashing light effects didn't really match each other). The drydock is absolutely perfect. The earth & sunrise was absolutely perfect. Jupiter and the moons were absolutely awesome too!

  • @deltanalliance What do you mean, didn't match each other...

  • @deltanalliance some of the flashing lights were... well... flashing blobs. didn't look like lights that much :P

  • @deltanalliance Which ones, the bright beacons were flares, and the running/directional lights were using the same method Wil Jaspers uses on his model.

  • @CJCA915 Running lights

Some of them looked pretty good, the others looked like blobs and didn't match :P

  • @deltanalliance Well, the directional red/green lights and the white lights are all made the same way... :P with the same settings, only different colors.

  • @CJCA915 Doesn't really look that way, weird I guess :P

  • One more suggestion on the sunrise again (sorry if I'm always picky about that :P), it's pretty much perfect in the look, just only very slightly out of natural. In the next version it should rise up somewhat slower than that. If there is a next version.

  • @deltanalliance lol, it's about the same speed as the flare in the movie... if not slightly slower... XD

  • @CJCA915 Actually I meant... 0:57 vs 1:03

From flashing light then back to blob again!?

  • @deltanalliance Because the camera is looking directly at the light source, thus it creates the flare look.

  • Cool. Great looking sunrise, I love those. Having watched the original sequence I would say the drydock light flares should be a bit less prominent IMO.

How come you use the still images and audio but not clips from the movie? Is it less of an copyright infraction to do that or is it just easier?

  • @VideoSpaceFX I try to do that, to lesson the chances, because images are more fair use, than actual video...

  • @VideoSpaceFX

One reason is, that the GEMA in Germany would ban this video, in the name of the owner, due to copyright. They have been doing so repeatedly lately, that right now, everybody would like to punch the GEMA in the face. The funny thing is, that my friend in Austria can watch it without a problem.

Only way to get around it, is to open a VPN connection to a US server, to circumvent this. But it does result in a much slower connection to the video.

  • I like the shot at 1:33 A LOT! Great job!

  • does anyone else think kirk should've stayed an admiral? cause he kinda forgot how to be a captain in the movies.

  • I must've seen TMP a bizillion times. I can honestly say these are nicer than shots in the movie. There's always been a debate whether it's better to use models or CGI. I think all that's important is the final result. Great job!

  • Magnificent work!

  • @HungarianKnight Thanks.

  • Man, that was incredible! Fantastic job... the sunrise scene was breathtaking!!

  • Cheater, those weren't 3D planets!

Very nice work. The shots match the originals well. And you finished almost a year before me. :P

  • @troy2062 Ahhh, but the Earth was. :P

    haha.

  • superb as always :>

  • nicely done. the planets and moons look really good.

  • @acid001 Aside from the Earth, the other planets are the shots from the movie, lol.

  • @CJCA915 Ah, I see. You cheated! :p

  • @acid001 lol, well, I wanted instead of making new planets, add just the ship, etc.

  • Well done!

  • @lancecowboy Thanks.
