If you clean it correctly it taste better than bass or crappie. So try it yourself before you make comments that are not true. There are extra bones in the meat of these fish but it takes just a little effort to filet around them. The meat is firm and white.

U guys gotta learn how to cook it, nice soft white meat. Its the bones part that needs to be sorted, in Japan and Europe these fish goes into gourmet menu..

There is also a way to cook them steamed, chinese style, the bones become tender and soft, and if u accidental swallow the small ones they wont choked.

Its a bad fish to fillet style cook (which u can usually do to large bass, etc).

@masterairsofter67 Okay continuing after the fish has been steamed pour simmering oil on top make sure that in the oil you pan fried some minced garlic. The garlic really makes the fish taste better. Also, add some green onions and pan fry it somewhat to avoid e-coli. Now just add some Soy Sauce or some other salty sauce. If you like to eat fried fish well then I can't tell you how that would taste because I've never tried that before, but you can try and tell me how it tastes.

@FishingKing754 Well I've had Asian carp before and they are pretty damn tasty comparable to panfish. I've only had the fish steamed. How you do it for every one pound of fish steam for about 7-8 mins. First have a pound or two of the fish preferably a fillet chunk that's like a block if it's thin then you only need to steam for 6 mins. Next, sprinkle some salt over the fillet and just place it on a flat plate that will fit in a shallow pot for steaming. I'll continue this on another post.

Guys, the belly part of those large silver carp are really great tasting. The meat are generally bland, like largemouth bass, but they are not too bad.
