@Hoppercool Its not that they don't know how cause its more of a feeling to rock like this.. just bands these days don't know how to make music to have people feel like this anymore.
That was a nice live version and it sounds so good ... when do you wanna hear some Grunge from germany so listen to Drunken Hippies - Sad things... Peace & Love
OMG I CAME HERE EXPECTING THIS TO BE A FAN VIDEO, AND I WAS LIKE NO WAY....AND WHEN HE STARTED THAT RIFF I WAS LIKE WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT sweet jesus
...I really hate to look like I'm bashing you, those are NOT my intentions, I'm just looking at this footage from a fans/filmmaker's point of view. You've got a lot of unnecessary slo-mo's, but then again, it was the 90s. The thing you do at 1:32 to 1:34 is profound! Nirvana were a band that didn't need any fades or slo-mos. Just stick that camera right in Kurt's face, get some action on Dave, and do a few sweeps around Krist, wrap around back to Kurt= a damn good video concert.
Amazing! Thank you sir! I can't wait...Now please ask the "powers that be" to release things like this more often! Based upon this, you get my vote on every mix! Hey....Did Bob Ludwig master this?
@cwilson2781 this video was cut with raw unmastered audio straight from the board. If you listen closely you can even hear Kurt flub one of his opening guitar parts right before the beginning of the first verse (which they later corrected in the mastered version)... The video is dubbed from the original off line analog source 3/4" SP's. The 20th Anniversary Edition will have digitally re-mastered audio and HD video taken directly from the original 2" tape and 16mm negative.
@BACO1029 the tape I discovered this on was my original 3/4" off line master... Jamie Mitchell @ Beachwood Cottage Films handled the data retrieval and uploaded it in it's native NTSC format
@mylomaster that was the Eclair NPR 16, operated by John Linson up in the balcony... We had a total of 7 cameras on the shoot. 6 were shooting 16mm color, 1 shooting Super 8mm B&W
@DopeStoriesLAX Can you let us know if this was filmed on Super 16mm, so at 1.66:1 widescreen ratio, or on standard 16mm, at 1.33:1. Basically, I'm wondering if they've cropped a 1:33 image to "fake" a widescreen image on the DVD / Blu-Ray, or if it truly was shot in widescreen.
Apparently this is the only known Nirvana performance shot with 16mm film. Dunno if they faked the widescreen effect, but they could easily have done it.
@merkin51 truly widescreen , compare footage of this show included on Live tonight sold out ( Breed ) to the one shown on the comming Bluray/DVD teaser .
@merkin51 I'm sure this was shot in 16mm, so in the 1.33:1 ratio. It's like that on the blu-ray release. There are plenty of videos on Youtube ripped off the TV where this show was broadcasted in a widescreen crop, so it may be a little bit confusing.
I think I may have broken the replay button. Sorry..

Great footage that you documented, but too many camera angles. You didn't give the performance time to breathe...
