  • there is no point in this remake if u have seen the orignal one, plus if u havent i would say watch the orignal its better. plus some people say color is better than black and white, most horror fan like my self say its better in black and white cause is scarier for horror movies

  • god is the remake crap

  • wow... the remake sucks. this definitely proves that the original classic will always remain superior. one of my top ten faves.

  • It's nice to see a remake of this film but I prefer the original ANY day. Plus Janet Leigh is so sexy in it too!

  • @Scrabbler27 HELL YA!!!

  • haha vince vaghn

  • Why would anybody even attempt to remake such a classic and perfect film??? Stupidity....

  • If someone remakes a movie and it's way different people bitch. But if it's shot for shot people bitch too. Wow you people are stupid

  • WOW. The copied every single fucking thing.

  • Don't even get why the 1998 version was made. Unoriginal, copying a legendary filmmaker.

  • @MinamuTV I think, its because they wanted it in colour or something. The original is better though

  • Holy Shit vince vaughn the psycho? Good actor but not a psycho!

  • Janet Leigh is gorgeous

  • What is the point of simply making a SHOT FOR SHOT remake? So uncreative.

  • The original was the best. I just love Anthony Perkins. <3 x

  • Janet Leigh was the perfect Marion,

Anthony Perkins was the perfect Norman..

the remake cast is just ridiculous

  • My eyes are just attracted to the original Psycho in these clips...

  • it is a crime to remake films like psycho

  • I always thought Anne Heche was great in I Know What You Did Last Summer... but that's the only thing I really know her from.

  • the remake is just turrible!!

  • Everything about the remake is terrible. I was born in '98, and I'd rather wath the 1960 version. This movie is iconic, and I know it's going to sound stupid, but I'm very upset they even tried to remake it. The remake is terrible.

  • Heche's acting reminds me of the Sims.

  • Everybody involved with this turgid, shamefully pointless remake and slap-in-the-face to Hitchcock should be put to death. There is nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing in this that captures, let alone builds upon what made the original so great--not the lighting, cinematography, acting, nothing. Whoever fucking greenlit this should be absolutely barred from every having anything to do with making movies ever again. And that goes double for that no-talent indie hack Gus Van Sant.

  • '60 versus '98? theres just NO competition.. the original will always be the groundbreaking horror that it was released to become.

  • I prefer the 1960's version.

  • Another problem with Psycho '98. You never really believe that Norman could be attracted Ann Heche's Marion. but you kind of got it with Janet Leigh.

  • @EkseteraEksetera Anne Heche and Vince Vaughn played lovers in another movie. I never thought Norman was supposed to be attracted to Marion. In the original movie, Anthony Perkins was too young for Janet Leigh.

Also, Anne Heche looked ridiculous in this movie because she was gay (AT THE TIME) and cut off all her hair. She looks much better now.

  • @locotaco10 The original made it very clear he was attracted to her.

  • ужасные актеры в ремейке

  • Is the Bates Motel the same? I saw the set when I was in LA two months ago, and I can't tell with the remake! I could tell Malibu before...and who else thinks the remake Norman doesn't look at all how he should look? He should be a shy scrawny-looking guy. He's too bulky and I don't get the same "He's-so-sweet-and-shy-it's-little-kid-cute" feeling. Seriously, I think the original Norman is kind of the guy you want to protect because he's so awkward and shy! Awww...

  • I wonder if the new Bates Motel had HBO?

  • I much prefer the original (1960) a thousand times

  • Psycho '60 is so better !!!

  • 2 people are Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche.

  • @92chillwill I have no idea why Vince OR Anne ruined themselves by taking these roles. They were in another movie together that same year where they looked much different (Anne looks ridiculous in this movie).

  • Perkins & Leigh are both such incredible actors. We totally believe them because they're focused on their characters to the point that it just looks completely natural.Vaughn & Heche come across like amateurs in comparison. They lack depth and act like they're reading from a script.

  • They don't make actors like they used to.

Tony Perkins & Janet Leigh vs Vince Vaughn & Anne Heche. Really?

  • Wow!!! The one thing i know about Vincent Vaughn, is that I´ve wished fuck his ass so bad in that scene he´s going up through the starways!!! Wow!!! What a ass!!! And what a smile!!! I´d like so bad fuck his mouth too!!!

  • It's amazing how, even though they tried to re-enact the original as exactly as possible, the remake is still a complete flop. the shower scene was even re-done in detail. The reason is of course the acting - the sequel's actors are horrible, lifeless, and unconvincing. The original's personalities are strong, convincing and full of life.

  • 1998 version not that good acting

  • I think that the both movies are great, and the actors did a pretty great job. I'm acting myself, and most of you guys say that the remake actors are terrible, common guys, they are great. Perhaps not better than the original, but they are great!

  • @gerdizz then you're definitely not going to go far if you think that the '98 version had great acting....

  • The "similarities" are creepier than either of the movies. Psycho remains the best ever THRILLER!!!!

  • I am a huge fan of the original, thought with Gus Van Sant's signature on the remake it would at least be watchable. It was bad! As in atrocious-completely the same. but lousy. The original painted the characters differently. Norman lived in a closed off world of his own with "mother". Anyone who entered that world was intriguing-but mother wanted them out of "their" world.

Heche, Vaughn, and Macy were casualties of bad filmmaking here.

  • i dread watching this shit remake....Vince Vaughn as NORMAN??!!??...I never will watch this shit remake!

  • the cast of the remake are terrible!!

  • @Gallifrey1991 right? i mean...vince vaughn? really?! anyone wouldve been better than vince vaughn. hell just cast johnnny depp or something! anyone!

  • @Gallifrey1991 The cast? Just the cast? EVERYTHING is wrong in this movie!!!!!!

  • @Gallifrey1991 only William Macy is good... W HITCHCOCK , BEST DIRECTOR EVER

  • The remake isn't complete failure. I knew that it was to pay homage to the original film. I saw that the actors and actresses played their parts well. Vince Vaughn did a great job in playing Norman Bates. But I prefer the original since it is way more better. Anthony Perkins is excellent in playing Norman.

My last words are: Great Job Vince Vaughn and Outstanding work Anthony Perkins.

  • And to add to my last comment, the window being visible that early on, it goes to show that "Mother" has been watching us since we first arrived at the Bates Motel.

  • The original is so much better. I'm not saying the remake was COMPLETE garbage, I'll still watch it for entertainment, but nothing can beat Hitchcock's. One shot in this comparison spells it clearly, and that is the one at 2:11. In the 1960 version, when Marion first gets out of her car to enter the motel, you'll notice high above the motel in the sky over the hill is the light in "Mother's" window, as in the '98 version it isn't there. The window being there, I believe is essential.

  • Just goes to show why Janet Leigh was a star, and Ann Heche isn't. With Heche, you can see the acting ... and Vince Vaughan simply doesn't exude Anthony Perkins's unique gauche weirdness.

  • @fringelily While I agree with you, in all fairness, Heche went into it knowing she had shoes to fill. Janet Leigh had carte blanche to do it the way she wanted to.

  • @fringelily yeah, but vince vaughan still makes feel uncomfortable. he has that working for him. as for anne heche, im just not a fan.

  • @fringelily Actually Psycho was one Janet Leigh's last movies in which she had an important role. Anne Heche was younger than Janet when she did the movie. Her career went nowhere because she decided to become a lesbian and did some crazy things. She is a very good actress and very hot woman since she's gone back to men and has long hair now.
