Marty Krystall Quartet Plays "Wildflower" by Herbie Nichols

I recently discovered Herbie Nichols' music, and every time I hear it I wonder "how would this great music sound if played with horns?" Now I know, and it sounds great! I'd dare to say it might sound even better than the trio versions!

Just got Kristall's Herbie Nichols Tribute CD through ITunes after watching this video! Congrats, and thanks for keeping this unfairly forgotten music alive!

Actually, it's the same as "Jada" or "Doxy"

I've recently discovered Herbie's world, and it's a delight to see people still performing his music in a tasteful way. Herbie is an artist whose music needs a sensitive interpreter to get the nuances of the mood he carved with his left hand on the piano.
