It's more than 1 in 4 (my source- working in an antenatal department for 2 years, a New Scientist article). If so many pregnancies abort naturally, does that make God/nature the world's largest provider of abortions?

If it can't survive outside of the uterus, it's not a person.

@LovedbcHim naturally it's rare for a foetus to be completely viable before 38 weeks (completely viable = no major medical intervention needed, no incubator etc). With medical advances, foetuses have been known to survive as early as 22 weeks. In the UK it is legal to terminate a pregnancy up to 24 weeks (only 1.6% of pregnancies were terminated after 20 weeks, 87% before 12 weeks).

@RoozleRay O.k I was curious about your response. My daughter was born at 27 weeks and 5 days. Different people say different things, however; I completely believe unless one has actually been inside a NICU for a certain amount of time we don't really know how viable a baby really is. About them ever being a blob of cells though, they are not. They very much have a spirit and very much are a child. Unless the mom's health is in extreme danger early in preg, abortion should be in God's hand

If only some of you guys could be open to what other people are really like. @LovedbcHim Well there are pro-lifers out there who shoot abortion providers. Like that guy who murdered Dr. George Tiller. There are also pro-lifers who stand outside of clinics and insult the women walking in. And most pro-choicers are also liberals which means that they support assistance for single mothers. I believe you when you say that there are clinics out there like the one you've described, but unfortunately there are also clinics that harass women and deliberately misinform them.

@rtwinters I definitely do not own what that person did to dr. Tiller. That was wrong. But the clinics that you talk about, most of those are planned parenthood. The staff is trained to not tell the truth about what abortion really does. The crisis pregnancy center here will tell the truth, but they won't show the graphic videos, because people really don't need to see those. I mean some people do need to see them, but not the mother's who are already confused and emotional

@LovedbcHim The clinics I'm talking about aren't Planned Parenthood, they're crisis pregnancy centers. PP does not lie to women, as they have nothing to gain from a woman having an abortion. Most of them don't even provide abortion services. CPCs, on the other hand, exist to counsel women against having abortions. I trust that there are crisis pregnancy centers that are respectful of women's needs, please trust that Planned Parenthood does not have that kind of an agenda.

@rtwinters And most of the pro-lifers around here do work hard to respect Planned Parenthood, although we don't agree with what they do. We have a pp here and there are people who stand across the street from the building, the majority of those people are women who have had abortions in the past and regret their abortion, and they will stand across the street and pray for the women who walk in there. The women are not murderers, their just making a choice that they will regret.

@LovedbcHim As long as it's peaceful and respectful, that doesn't really bother me. It's just a difference of opinion, and we're all entitled to our own opinions. Some women do regret having had an abortion, and I really feel for them; a woman should never be pressured into making such a personal decision. But there are many women who believe that having an abortion was the best decision they've made in their lives and they don't carry any guilt or shame around with them.

@rtwinters Many women do regret their abortions but do not talk about it, some even will tell you they don't regret it. I know there are some women though who came from absolutely horrible childhoods, and whom if they had chosen life for their baby, their baby would be extremely abused like they were, because their family would have also pressured them not to adopt, or tried to take the child out of the adoption agencies if they had put that child up for adoption.

@rtwinters and that girl whom I know did have the abortion, even though she regretted the abortion, she was able to put that abortion behind her and change her life around, completely and as far as I know she did not choose the path that her family chose. She chose Christ. Yes she regretted her abortion, but sometimes decisions like that really do change a person. That's why although we want to discourage abortion, because it is a life, we also have to let that woman make her choice.

I'm grateful for that. I'm just curious to know what you mean by "discourage abortion." When, in your opinion, does "discouraging abortion" infringe on a woman's right to "make her choice," as you say? If everyone around her is "discouraging abortion," does she really have a choice?

@yourengland I don't know what it is like in England, however; planned parenthood here does not always inform women like they should. Look up some of the videos here on youtube about former directors of planned parenthood. They are trained to sell abortion here. Discouraging women from it doesn't mean not loving them even though they may still make a choice to abort, it just means counseling them and educating them better. Letting them know that we may not support their decision,...cont.

@yourengland but that we do support them and love them, even after the choice that they made. But those babies are lives. My daughter was born 3 months and fought for life for 15 hours inside my womb, because she had a very low amount of oxygen. I had an infection and they had to do a c-section on me to save her and me, and when she was born and they examined the placenta, there was hardly any placenta left. It was mostly eaten away by the infection. During an abortion they fight forlivestoo

@rtwinters I'm thankful I don't know those clinics, but Planned Parenthood also does not inform women like they should. Although I think it was wrong to kill George Tiller, He actually aborted a 24 week baby, wanted baby for that matter when the mom was suffering from pre-eclampsia. That baby could've actually been saved. The mom just I guess was not educated that her baby could have made it if he had gotten another doctor in and saved both the mom and the baby.

A lot of women may not say that they regret it, but they realize how far they have really fallen and they do turn their lives around in a good direction. And there are women who turn to drugs to get rid of the pain left from abortion. Those are the women that womens pregnancy centers want to help.

@TheGothicMaria They don't show graphic photos of aborted babies, they help teach parents who choose to parent or adopt with parenting classes, carseat safety classes, nutrition, breastfeeding and birthing classes and they help refer women to adoption services. The parent who chooses to parent they give diapers, wipes, baby clothes, bottles, I think formula. But they also have healing for women who have gone through an abortion and they really are not judgemental. Just be open minded aboutthem

@TheGothicMaria Actually, I went to a women's pregnancy center today and they don't stop a woman from getting an abortion and they have counseling for women who have gone through abortions. They are for women and for the baby. They discourage abortion and educate the woman on that choice, and they will not give referrals to abortionists but they will give referrals to good doctors in the area. They are not like what the video portrays.

@TheGothicMaria Doctor's who do abortions and think it's o.k really don't care about a woman's health, or future. Womens pregnancy centers don't refer women to an abortionist, but they do have other options other than abortion and they refer women to some really great doctors who think about both the health of the baby and the mother.

Geez, this movie is totally the pig's wigs man. I love it to death and I wish more people knew about it. I try to make my friends discover it in my cult/fucked-up comedy movie section I have set aside. It is so worth it!
