In the time of Paper Mario, Bowser did the following:

Captured Princess Peach

Moved her castle up into the sky

Made Mario travel the entire Mushroom Kingdom

Became Invincible due to the Star Rod's power

Basically he conquered the entire Mushroom Kingdom...
