i remember my Grungust Reishiki always took less then 100 dmg besides Boss attacks then they left it out in Og2 :( it was so awesome why did they have to take it out D:<
Notice how the Boost Knuckle animation goes from technical to unbelievable. Type 0's main thrusters fire to compensate for the incredible recoil... and the completely un-aerodynamical fist of doom pounds the Landlion flat with sheer force. No spinning, using blue gems, or golden halos.
Banpresto sure knows how to make each of its rocket punches unique.
Hm. I don't like what they did with the Colossal Blade attack here, but I do like how they made the Grungust hold the sword by default. It looks considerably more intimidating and badass that way.
Good 'ol Type 0. Not as unique as the DaiZengar, but still badass. The sword is a bit short, though...
And this is one of the 2 units who I dearly missed in OG2 (the other one is the Wildschwein). Just imagine Katina or Kai in this baby. That would be totally awesome!
Yeah. In OG2, I put her into the type 2, and boy did she kicked ass. Too bad she's not a psychodriver, but she didn't need the TK-Field anyway. But next time, I'll give her the Gigan ^^ !
Thrudgelmir is officially the "most powerful" out of all his mecha. It's regenerating Machine Cells self repair it and allow it to use that crazy "sword of the stars" move without wrecking the generator.
It's flaw is that it only has a standard Grungust cockpit limiting attacks to slashes and thrusts according the mecha arm controls. The DGG-1 has the Direct Motion Link System, letting it copy his body movements directly and allowing full use of his swordsman ship.
Well, I didn't really know that it is a localization. But it will be weird if DaiZengar (it was Dygenguard) localized into DySanger. What do you think about it?
I dunno, but I'd rather follow what the katakana said (Zengar), since I'm already used to do so.
The thing is that katakana can't handle a word being spelled differently than it's pronounced. It's like "Thomas" - it's pronounced with a hard "T", so that's how it'd be written in Japanese, but that doesn't mean an anime character with that name should be called "Tomas" in a translation.
It's not even localization. Sanger Zonvolt has ALWAYS been his official name, even in Japanese. Just read any source book that predates the games' release in North America. He's German, after all, and the characters that came out "zengaa" are just an approximation used by a language that's not capable of precisely replicating the sounds produced by Roman characters. So really, "Zengar" is an instance of the Japanese saying it wrong in their own game (but at least THEY had an excuse).
It's based on how he pronounces his name, not how it's written. Let the "Official name" burn in hell for all I care. I personally prefer Zengar and my best friend prefers Sanger, but it's not a big deal.
After 3 years of deutsch I can tell you the S in Sanger is pronounced Z or Zengar in German
To the point, Don`t be such an ass and argue semantics while down-thumbing people, especially not when you`re wrong and especially with other SRW fans. We all are here because we love giant robots.
Which is to say, it doesn't. in my personal opinion. I have always supported the translation adding the D- "Dygenguard", which makes it -much- easier to pronounce, and I support it more than the original transliteration of 'Dygenguar'.
Dai-Zengaa works as a pun, of course. It's the entire reason the name was picked. However, it's almost insulting to think of the mech merely as a pun, even if a mech is just a metaphorical extension of the pilot.
I never said I was insulted by it. "It's almost insulting" does not mean "I take this personally and feel insulted".
I don't know if the first point is entirely true, either. I mean, there are people like Socran who will argue things like the DaiRaiOh 'needing' to be called the Dylioh. People will defend all sorts of things. But that's really beside the point. My point was that I preferred 'Dygenguard' over 'Daizengar' and that I could care less about the keeping the pun of the latter intact.
Whoa... That sword is HUGE...! No wonder it was called the Colossal Blade in the English translation! Reishiki/Type-0 ROCKS and Sanger rocks just as much as it does! RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!
This is the best Grungust of all

Stick Tasuku in the Type 2 to take advantage of the TK-Field, if you need some more Grungust in your life.
Though really... I'd love to see Katina in the Type 0. Total massacre.

Not Sanger Zonvolt, but Zengar Zombolt.
Too bad Atlus didn't translate Katakana correctly in the GBA release...
HAVOCprojects 3 years ago
It's called 'localizing.' Zengar Zombolt sound really terrible. Seriously, just say it, then say 'Sanger Zonvolt.' I knew you could.
CrawlCyclone 3 years ago 3
Actually, while Sanger is the proper spelling, the name is correctly pronounced with a Z sound, as any German speaker will probably tell you.
Buretsu 3 years ago

But Zengar still sounds cooler.
Fieryone233 2 years ago
Yeah that's the official name. But you have to agree Zengar Zonvolt sounds cooler than Sanger Zonvolt.

I fail to see how.
A real German name over a made-up nonsense name based on fans' inability to read? I'll take Sanger, personally.

And if you want to get REALLY TECHNICAL, the actual translation is Sanger Sombold, but Sanger Zonvolt just sounds cooler.
Fieryone233 3 years ago
To get even more technical on that, Atlus themselves set it as OFFICIALLY Sanger Zonvolt. They just based his name off the Sombold.
