Lucas Moodyson is a fantastic director.... this is a brilliant film and should be widely seen.... heartbreaking and intense! The other great movies he made are 'Together' and 'Fucking Amal' - each one very different...trailers on Youtube.
The scene when she destroys the photo of her mother is very strong, it's like she's leaving her whole life she wanted to live further and further behind with no hope whatsoever in the future, because it only gets worse and worse.

Everything about it screams Estonia. Filmed in Estonia, Estonian currency, and Estonian has a very large Russian population. Estonia isn't the cute little old town of Tallinn that Western Europeans like to visit.
