how much was this set up all together and do u have an intake cover and have u had any problems with the intake not working or water getting in

i have a 1997 nissan maxima, my friend swears up and down that his 06 tiburon gt will destroy my car, he is ignorant enough to say a trailblazer would beat it, but anyway i have thought about swappin a vq35de into my maxima, my car is an automatic, would it be wise to keep an automatic or try to find a manual 2002 or 1997 maxima to race with, and if i keep the 97 what would i need to do in order for the swap to be successful?
