Very well deserved for keeping the traditions going.and in this day and age of plastic consumerism long may it continue. I hope that someone will be going up to meet I love my TG4 it keeps me in touch with the holy ground. .
I come from an Irish family, my only regret is that i did not learn gaelige or the sean nos tradition at an early age- Dara is one of my heroes, his voice is so pure and beautiful- I hope the Mac Donnchadha clan continue this beautiful tradition for many generations to come
Dara has a fine voice! wish I could learn gaelige & sean nos music from him :) I hope there will be a new generation of singers who carries on this tradition for many years to come!
At about 4.30 he says something along the lines 'bark on your balls... ya bark on your balls...' Then he says soon after 'ah... not into balls yeah not into balls'.. Obviously he regrets foolin round with the island lads at an earlier age.

The song is Si Do Mhameo (The Wealthy Widow): nice job by this man who must be all of 80, or more.

@bookkeeper57 It's known as either 'Sí do Mhameo í' or 'Cailleach an Airgid'. Same song.

The ancient Celts were a bardic people, and they've passed that on to present day Irish and Scottish people.
