  • Just like candy.

  • 0:15 I'd hit it!

  • I would love for Allyson to run more 400s so as to beat Sanya Richards.

  • we will get married one day lol

  • stupenda!!!!

  • The 400m ' resistance always help Alyson Felix to finish a 200m in a fast and relax way, a little as Perec or Torrence.

  • she looks so effortless

  • I love her she is my ideal girlfriend !

  • this is one of the best of recent times ever in 200m female; but i think that the record of florence griffith will never be nearly broked (21.34 s).... and the same considered the 100m (10.49 s). I think that we will see many like felix in future but never one legend like Florence Griffith, her records in 200 and 100 resist since 1988 (21 years).... that's something colossal !

  • Felix seems way too complacent with all her victories. I think the only reason she ran a 21.88 here was because she wanted those damn diamonds!! lmao step it up chick and run a 21.6! she needs someone to push her (perhaps Sanya Richards?)

  • I'm sure Campbell-Brown with Beijing 's 21.74 performance is enough to push her! But Richards would do good...

  • man why wasn't the women's 200m run today? I guess cuz VCB is injured (sort of), Muna's injured, and Marshevet Hooker is injured.. I was looking forward to seeing Felix PB maybe a 21.78!!

  • are they running the 200m in Brussels next week? I'm looking forward to felix setting a new PB..

  • i just realized that Felix has a cute little ass...

  • Go Allyson!!

  • I feel like the USA could have taken it, Jeter runs a mean anchor leg!! It was truly Anderson's fault because she ran way too close to Lee, based on the final I feel the USA could have taken that relay...

  • I'm still debating that myself (whether they could have taken it or not)- Jamaica's time was a disappointment.

  • USA would have taking it. It was going to be close if VCB ran for Jamaica. Without VCB they were going to lose. I want to know the deal that went down with VCB. I still say VCB is the best sprinter for Jamica and a clean one. I am still doubting Simpson, Stewart, and Fraser.

  • you don't know anything about track..lol..

  • hmmm. and you have to be one of the most ignorant and foolish people on this site. better yet, you seem very low budget as well.

  • yet every call i've made on these races have come true.. and every thing you've said was way off.. who the fool now, dumbass? get a clue..

  • predicting Usain. OH WEE that is a predication. A blind man could have made that prediction. Come up with something that has substance and maybe you can gain some respect.

  • i called 19.19, moron... would u stop fucking posting to me, you brainless idiot.. i'm not interested in any stupid comment u have to say..

  • If she ran too close meant Lee was moving too slow. Lee is such a big disappointment. She never delivers on anything at the big meets. She really needs to sit her butt down and let it go. She has never delivered at any big meet.

  • you guys never gave me credit for calling Bolt's 19.19 on this same thread 5 days ago... what's up with that? lol..

  • Alright- good job with your prediction, haha- Credit enough?

  • speaking of the 200s, Muna and Allyson looked good in their semis, but we always know that the Americans crack under pressure, which has happened way too often at these Championships, btw Alonso Edward got a 19.81 behind bolt, does that mean he now has the WJR since he's 19?

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely ridiculous! What will he do next, honestly does he have a chance at breaking 19 flat?! Walker saved the best for the Champ. Final and she destroyed the field and Demus. What would've happened if MVP were denied a ticket?!

  • Comment removed

  • looks like Felix finally gave u reason to cheer.. hats off to Allyson, much deserved.. i always liked her, such a class act..

US men out of the relay.. can they do anything right?

  • Comment removed

  • no WR without Powell.. only a dramatic Bolt come from behind victory for that patchwork unit...

Trinidad, France and GB r teams to watch

  • Comment removed

  • hey i saw that video of the DQ, i don't know, but that looked like complete bullshit to me.. he seemed to pass it to patton right at the line.. maybe payback for WW2..lol?

did anyone else see French teenager Chris Lemaitre close a considerable gap on Richard Thompson in the 1st heat? that kid is loaded with talent.. maybe a competitor for Bolt in 3 years?

women's 4x100 WR is history.. Stewart and Shelly have been resting all week.. but i think they should put Stewart on anchor, but wont

  • Comment removed

  • i got

    men's 4x100

    1. Jam- but no world record.. but another crowd electrifying comeback by Usain.

    2. Trinidad- unfortunately poor Richard Thompson will be at the short end of a highlight reel

    3. France- Lemaitre will close on GB's weak anchor and give a glimpse of a new future Bolt rival.. (possibly)

    women-

    1. Jam- WR

    2. USA

    3. Bahamas

  • well, so much for that.. anti-climatic day..

i'm not sure if Lee was really hurt or just agonized by not getting the stick in the zone..

Jam can't break the womens record w/out vcb and sherone simpson at full health..

jam men blew a chance at the WR by putting Bolt on 3rd leg.. he needs to be anchor for that team to have any chance of breaking the beijing record..

finally- steve hooker is a badass..

  • Comment removed

  • i lost a lot of respect for VCB with that walk out.. total bush league move.. i'm not a fan of hers anymore after that..

  • The woman has run every Relay Team since 2000 and you lose all respect in her?! What, you think she walked out because she wanted revenge on the whole world for not getting gold- that was a clear shot at a gold anyway! The injury must have been serious for her to not parcipate, I will always be a fan.

  • She was just being a selfish child because they removed her from anchor.

And then to make it worse she tries to come out in the newspapers and lies and criticizes the team that won gold and tries to divide them. No class at all.

I'm very disappointed in her. I was always a great fan.. until this.

  • What does TheObserver report? Wait- she's actually getting mad?

  • Comment removed

  • I am absolutely overwhelmed- I never knew VCB behaved like this, Felix is number one in my book (for 200m) due to this. But I still love C-B.

  • Quarrie knows these ladies well. He knows she's infantile and has to juggle ego's.. His only mistake was not being firm enough from the beginning, but she just would have quit the team and made a stink at that point.

She is clearly jealous of Shelly and is acting like a child..

  • Should I just read all the comments here to find out what happened with VCB? Or can you just fill me in?

  • vcb quit the relay team last saturday.

  • does anyone know why she quit the team?

  • she was removed from anchor and refused to run any other leg.

  • Thanks for the info. I still love vcb though. She's amazing. It would have been great to see her there. The wr would have been their's.

  • she wasn't injured.. she showed up at the check in and quit the team an hour before the race and stormed out when they told her Stewart would stay on anchor...

  • Comment removed

  • it's reported on t&f news today... her immature insecure behavior has finally come to a head..

i'd also forgotten how people said she tried to have shelly thrown off the team last year for beijing as well.. it looks like the truth about her is coming out now that she's under a microscope..

  • Comment removed

  • It had nothing to do with the overmatched Usa team... who really had no chance, even with slow legs Facey and Bailey out there...Shelly and Kerron just have too much speed.

  • Comment removed

  • Usa was a prohibitive underdog in that race... they would have lost handily.... how can u still doubt me when i've been right on every call so far and even called Bolt's world record to the exact millisecond..

    i'm done..

  • Comment removed

  • oddsmakers.. USA would have lost..

u differed with me on those other predictions too and look how that worked out..lol..

  • Comment removed

  • i doubt they would have beaten Bahamas to tell u the truth.. that would have been a closer race than for gold..

  • ok, here's your chance to redeem your disastrous picks... do u think Shelly-Ann will knock Kerron Stewart out of the golden league jackpot this friday?

or will any other jackpot contender go down with 2 meets remaining?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • No, I think Isinbaeyeva is in a very vulnerable position, mentally she is torn, physically she is not 100%. Richards- 'nough said/shown. Bekele, you never know with him. Stewart has tough competition, but she'll manage.

  • you did better this time around..

  • The golden league comes on friday? I thought it was sunday?

  • friday on universal.. delayed on nbc monday

  • Oh my, I forgot completely about the Golden League- this will be the rematch to watch. My bet is on Stewart, a gold is big enough- a million dollars is next best, I'm sure she'll chase it. Still love you though Shelly-Ann!

  • Yes- I was in Jamaica that summer during the commotion. I don't think it was C-B who wanted to have her thrown out, it was the Jamaican fans. But they were bit in the butt. Go Fraser!

  • Comment removed

  • Honestly to say, i have no idea. I don't think she would've contributed much, though- what I am disappointed in, is that JAM had such a poor start in the W4x400- and despite Felix's superb 400m running, I thought Williams-Mills would be able to keep up with her. I was disappointed- we could've done better. Great leg by Shericka though- she could've challenge Richards.

  • sorry but noone had a shot against the usa in the women's 4x400. You got Richards and Felix on one team and you could pretty much call it a wrap. Shericka has gotten that ass whooped EVERYtime she's raced Richards. Kinda weird to think that on this day things would have been different.

  • shericka defeated richards last year in beijing... she took silver, sanya took bronze..

  • Yes, but now that Richards knows how to incoroprate her speed into the proper race tactic, she will be unstoppable. Williams-Mills got lucky this year (defeating her in Kingston) Go Williams and JAM!

  • I know she's been defeated in years past. But this year no one has been able to touch her. Had Williams (who is awesome, I think) been even a few meters ahead at the handoff, Richards would have gotten her before the end.

  • Williams is her biggest threat. Though Williams-Mills has been the only one to defeat her (this year), its now in the hand's of JAM's other Williams (Shericka) to give her a run for her money (no pun intended)!

  • No need to say sorry- I am not an idiot, with 49.6 and 49.8, of course no one could touch them (obvious). But if JAM had better opening legs, to balance Williams' closing speed (to secure silver for JAM) the gap and time could've been better.

  • Comment removed

  • Walker, could've challenged Demus then, haha! Whyte did a good job chasin Dunn in the opening leg- I'm still not over Williams-Mills' leg, she could've stayed with Felix (as she did at the Penn Relays), maybe not pass her- but not be dusted by her! I'm not saying we were expected to get Gold, but our time should've/could've (indeed) been better.

  • Comment removed

  • I believe Dunn is a better 400m runner than Whyte, therefore I expected Kapachinskaya and Dunn to pull away in the beginning, but Whyte showed no sign in allowing that- she stuck to done and gave Jamaica a (fair) start. Williams ran slow, man!

  • Comment removed

  • Smart move for USA- but to the dismay of JAM. I still think we should've done better. The question that rings in my head, however: what would've happened if MVP did not get a ticket into Berlin. They had the championships of their lives!

  • Comment removed

  • By the way they ran their heats- without using many if their fastest, I dropped my mouth- I thought they had a chance at gold! But they disappointed me. JAM on the other hand did well securing silver for us, but could've done better.

  • I know! I couldn't believe the time- 42.06, and now I ask "What went wrong?". Fraser and Stewart packing so much speed- Bailey running a great leg, Facey opening up the race slightly. They ran a faster time in the Heats (41.88)!

  • Comment removed

  • That's right- I wish VCB could've anchored, I find her to be the best there is when it comes to relays now. But its better she rest the injury- she gave it her all in the 200m. Bailey ran a faster leg than I expect, Stewart did well- Ferguson-Mckenzie secured Bahamas' silver, though.

  • You were considerably close with your prediction (37.38). I think what slowed them down most was Bolt's leg- getting the baton he left too early, giving it he ran on Powell. And I don't think he ran as fast as he could've. Still a phenomenal time, T&T gave a good effort.

  • well i lay all this mess at the hands of the coaches once again. what is the exact rules about how many of the same athletes have to run in the final? especially for the women. why not use your b-team to qualify and rest lee along with the other ones.

  • Comment removed

  • looking at the replay again, i take that back about Lee.. it appears she did have the stick inside the zone, but legitimately pulled something.. sad for her..

no, Bolt should never be on a hand-off leg. then you have him decelerating to pass the baton.. and Asafa also has a weak top end.. i t doesn't make any sense to have him on anchor.. they would go about .50 faster with Bolt 4th..

  • I think the reason for the coaches putting four of the best 100m Women on the 4x100 Heat was to help them practice their passing together- obviously they need more practice. Regardless of an injury- it still was a terrible pass (effort).

  • Muna needs to move on. She has stayed static for the last five years. I have not seen any major progression in her running at all. She may want to consider moving up to the 400 because she is not getting it done at 100 or 200.

  • Comment removed

  • JAM did not squandered they didn't have the team to set the record. They needed VCB. She sent a message when she did not go on the track with the other ladies.

  • Jamaica had the guns to run the WR.Anytime you get two 10.7s on one team, you're in the running to break a record. When the East Germans got the record, I believe only one of their runners was a sub-10.9. It's about the handoffs. Jamaica should have run in the low 41s. (of course the 88 U.S. team should have lowered it to the high 40's. but that's a discussion for another day)

  • Felix ran a great race- I think she could've put more speed and got a better time, but she managed to hold of VCB and a three-championship gold reign is impressive. Merritt showed his Olympic victory was for real- can't wait to see the relays. So disappointed US Men are out!

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, I think Wariner has maxed out. It was great to see Michael Johnson eating crow. I think the mistake they made with Wariner is trying to make him the White version of Michael Johnson. They should have just kept him in the 400 and not attempt to move him into the 200.

  • Comment removed

  • No. No. No. Two years ago he was being touted as the Super White Boy by his coach (Clyde Hart) and Michael Johnson as going to go after the double 200/400. This was not about speed work.

  • Jeter could have won it all if she didn't choke at the start! she got a 10.83 in her semifinal relaxing towards the line!! But I am still proud of the american sprinters, we took a challenge and didn't back off!!

  • You might as well have backed off! No, I'm just kidding- the Americans responded well to our challenge, and though they were again defeated it was a good effort. Her 10.83 would have still got her the bronze, she'd have to run under 10.73 to even get gold and that itself is a challenge only two ladies can achieve, I believe (Fraser and Stewart)

  • she got a 10.83 trotting to the line, I'm pretty sure carmelita is able to run a legal 10.7!! we know this event is all about the starts and Fraser always preforms well under pressure!!

  • She does not perform well under pressure (well I'm sure she would, but there was no pressure). She said Bejing was stress-free going into it and at Berlin she tried to stay calm. Jeter in my opinion was not quite ready to challenge the Jamaicans.

  • Comment removed

  • But that's the problem- she needs to find away to stay relaxed when it comes to the final, she herself said (when she beat Fraser in the Heat) "we still have two more rounds". If she can just not panice we'll see a fantastic outcome, but the JAM girls will always be there to get 1,2.

  • Haha, okay- you've made your point (with all the exclamations)..

  • Jeter is a fine little sprinter.. (and a nice little piece of ass too) but she just doesn't have the race components to compete with Shelly or KS.. Stewart's top end is too amazing and Fraser has the best start, possibly in sprint history, man or woman..

  • i still haven't heard anything, so that's good for kerron stewart.. maybe the germans denied the protest on grounds that her stepping in the lane didn't change the result any..

  • Shelly-Ann Fraser dominated this field today. not quite Beijing's margin- Stewart closed well, but she proved to be a true 100m Champion. A new Jamaican National Record, and possibly her next step is to go under 10.7, we'll see! Jeter did well, though. Hoping VCB could make a sweep. But all the athletes performed well!

  • Comment removed

  • lol... c'mon, man.. you're not really gonna stick with the relay prediction after what has unfolded..

stewart making a gaffe is usa's only hope, but i doubt she will this time around.. the other 3 won't for sure.. i guarantee it..

the WR is history.. this run by Fraser should be the co-WR with Arron.. take that steroid marion and flo-jo crap out of the books..

  • Comment removed

  • what about all the evidence? her training partner admitted he gave her roids.. a sudden dramatic drop in times and change of appearance at age 28.. and the autopsy did show enlarged arteries consistent with steroid use..sorry, man, but she was on roids..

and why r marion's times still being recognized? the cat's already out of that bag on that one....

Shelly has the world record.. and will go for two with the relay as far as i'm concerned..

  • your best bet is to hold out for this lady, Allyson, to save a 6 way sweep.. she's th only realistic chance for US gold in the short sprints..

now, Shelly may run the 200... and even though i wouldn't bet on her there, i also wouldn't put anything past that little dynamo either.. if she runs, she aint running to lose.. or fool around, i can tell u that much..

  • I agree- but I think that race reminded me of the M-100m Final in Stockholm last year where Powell beat Bolt. Powell got a monster start (as did Fraser) and managed to hold off the fast closing Bolt (Fraser held off Stewart). The difference- this is a Women's World Championships Final and instead of one-hundredth of a second gap, it was two-hundredths.

  • Comment removed

  • I think the 400m went as planned- Richards was phenomenal, Williams secured silver for us, Krivoshapka did well holding off Williams-Mills. If Richards was running for JAM it might well have been a sweep! But then again I doubt she'd still have Bobby as her coach.

  • Comment removed

  • -A quick correction on the previous statement, I should've said she woudn't have Clyde Harris as her coach.

If Powell does not run the 4x100m Relay that would be another great loss. I'm sure the ladies can achieve a world record time for they have a world record team. The world leading team however (USA) will be a huge threat. Russia for bronze!

  • Comment removed

  • Hart is also arguably the best 400m coach- training Usain (with his speed) would lead to disaster (for most athletes)- though yes, I doubt Bolt would give it much interest. JAM never takes their opponents for granted, they are prepared for anything. Brigitte Foster-Hylton secured gold for us! Can you believe it?!

  • I'm sure it wasn't Golding-Clarke, Foster-Hylton, Ennis-London, or any of our star athletes. Nice to know that anything US picks up on JAM, they hold it against us, look at yourselves and your reputation then point the finger.

  • Comment removed

  • Woah! Kmb- man, all these records in just one Golden League meet, yeah most of these athletes want redemption but their not going to run that fast at just a meet!

  • Either you jinxed the athletes or your predictions were just wrong- Stewart failed in her Jackpot attempts, to a great run by Jeter. I am not disappointed, for the athletes performed when it was necessary- but for people to still see you as favorite, you have to remain on top. I was astonished Fraser got fourth to Ferguson-Mckenzie, with a time inferior to that of Berlin (11.20 to 10.70)! The 400m was another example of athletes getting complacent... (Continued)

  • Comment removed

  • If you look at is overall, you can't complain- 9.81 is incredible, and he did admit that he was tired. Powell really gave him a race, but he does need to strengthen the last 20-30 metres of his race. Isinbayeva seems to get a WR a year! She is phenomenal. Rodgers is still young, but so is Bolt- 100m will never be the same! That was closer than I (and I think even you) expected in the 4x100. The time wasn't bad though. Felix is a well rounded athlete- but I think she has a better future in 200m.

  • Comment removed

  • KMB, do not overlook one crucial fact- some of these athletes are tired from Berlin. Thomas disappointed me in Berlin, but with a new NR, he has a lot left. Jeter is always in my book- incredible, but I'm sure Fraser and Stewart were running with more enthusiam in Berlin, much more- 11.01 to a sub-10.75 is a big difference. Foster-Hylon (though I admire our Jamaican athletes) in my opinion got lucky at Berlin, but she is showing the world luck had nothing to do with it. I absolutely love...

  • Comment removed

  • Do you think it is possible for Stewart (with a start like Fraser's in Berlin Final) to run sub 10.6?

  • Comment removed

  • They are quite young and strengthening their speeds would result tremendously. I doubt Flo-Jo's 'questioned' WR can be touched right now...

  • Comment removed

  • I think 21.34 isn't obtainable along with the 10.49. C-B & Felix are two of the best 200m female sprinters right now and both cannot manage a sub 21.7 (or so it seems). Koch's record is probably the least obtainable (if you look at it). If Felix were to run 400m like so many people want her to, she would have to settle for silver/bronze behind Richards and Williams. It's funny you commented Felix not running enough sub-22s, in the video above, she ran a decnt 21.88. I see no b.s. in that!

  • I think Felix is the best at 200m, it just so happens that she has 100m speed and 400m endurance, if you notice she doesn't enjoy running an open 400m race, btw Felix doesn't "settle" for silver!! and I really don't want it to be another Lashawn Merritt vs. Jeremy Wariner thing, I think the sprint rivalries between U.S and Jamaica are worth watching..

  • Comment removed

  • She will have to learn how to 'settle for silver', then- 400m is Richards' race, and I'm sure if Felix is to walk into one of those lanes and decided that she is running, Richards will give a 150% more into it- as shown in Zurich.

  • Comment removed

  • She has recently put herself in the books for the 200m as the first Triple-World Champion. She has a better chance at gold here than against Richards.

  • In the beginning of the race- I thought Fraser might run her down, but then she pulled away- and then I thought Stewart might run her down, but those efforts were only in vain. I looked at the clock and too was stunned, 10.67 is incredible. I sure wouldn't have predicted it and obviously Jeter wouldn't have either. Vlasic had such a tremendous attempt at the WR, I thought she might have gotten it. Defar is back in form and she is showing it. Close race with Felix and Richard. Foster-Hylton is #1

  • Jeter's sudden 'blast' of victories and outstanding times does not make me surprised that many assume she is doping. But what a victory! Campbell-Brown got a rather good time- but was still only .25 away from history's second fastest woman. Gay said in Berlin he knows he can run as fast as Bolt- and who is to wrong him of that statement, subsequent to this! Powell simply could not answer. Mothersill ran down Ferguson-Mckenzie; Felix seems to be lounging in the 22's, but she still is incredible.
