The reason why CL is the leader and not Bom (Eldest) is because Bom is quite old for a girl group who wants to attract a younger audience of fanboys so CL became the leader because she is a badass with a sweet side and the leader is the one who usually goes on talk shows and such. Bom is busy with solo projects and Minzy is too young so people would think she isn't mature enough to be leader and Dara is going into acting.
