  • This is a fucking masterpiece of metal! Great guitar sound.

  • True masters at the guitar right here its ridiculous how crazy the verses are very complexed music theory but they make that guitar fuckin bad ass sounding

  • They came out with a new song It's called Morrowind

  • Why can't I stop listening. . . to this epic masterpiece?

  • Ahhhh such good fucking music!

  • its very sad why this album was created but very good listening to

  • @diamondemma1

Other than the title, it has nothing to do with Brann's sister.

  • @MetaI4Brains how do u know shhhhh

  • @diamondemma1

Do you know what this album is about?

  • @MetaI4Brains not in depth not a big big fan off mastodon

  • @MetaI4Brains got some idea of the album its about the elements of fire n all that and whats beyond the barrier of the sky hence crack the skye and be lost in oblivion

  • @diamondemma1

It's based on the element aether. It's about a paraplegic who astral travels into outer space, gets sucked into a wormhole that sends him back in time, and hs soul is put in Rasputin's body. When Rasputin is killed, their souls are released and Rasputin trys to lead the boy back to his own body. But the devil discovers them and trys to steal their souls.

  • @MetaI4Brains gud gud

  • @MetaI4Brains rasputin was a good man, but he got drunk too much

im saying that as a historical fact

  • @diamondemma1the songs are metaphoric terms explaining the feel of the lost of a sister

  • @GetFuckingAngry people keep telling me the meaning of the album i dont think many actually know im gonna stick with what i read and its about the dummers sisters suicide -_- i know alot out certain bands that some people wouldn't

  • @diamondemma1 if you watch the making of the album thats what its all about. branns sister

  • @mymom20051 -_-

  • Think they'll do a song about Skyrim as well?

  • @KennyTheMadcat Crack the Skyerim?

  • @KennyTheMadcat I happen to be playing Skyrim. Had me a laugh there...

  • @KennyTheMadcat I dont think this song is about the game oblivion but I could be wrong

  • @BeforeThePlagues Of course it's not, that was supposed to be a joke.

  • @KennyTheMadcat Crack the Skye.

  • @KennyTheMadcat I said the same thing :O

  • @KennyTheMadcat I'm hoping for a Captain Planet album.

  • @KennyTheMadcat And they must do the dwemer armor XD

  • @KennyTheMadcat If they do it better be as epic as this. Minus spell making of course.

  • @KennyTheMadcat Crack the Skyrim.

  • Thank god for this :D

  • Louder vilume

  • absolutely love this song! kicks ass!!!!! \m/

  • I dont know why,but the members of this band reminds me of an Sludge Rock band of my country,Matanza(great band btw)

  • Mastodon is one of the better metal bands of this decade!Who says that metal is dead knoe olny shit bands,Mastodon is epic!

  • This is a really sad song.

  • I LOVE the fact that Brann (the drummer) got to do a lot of the vocal work on this one. it just goes to show how versatile all the members of the band really are.

  • @DarkieTaco I love Mastodon but as far as versatility goes they aren't really anything special. I mean it doesn't make you a multi-instrumentalist if you can play an instrument and also sing. But there are bands out there with members who are virtuosoes on 10 different instruments each.

  • @Sunchild333 True. But playing ten instruments doesn't necessarily mean you can write interesting music that's enjoyable to listen to. It just means you can play ten instruments.

  • @PurpleAsparagus Of course it doesn't make you a good composer. That also requires some talent and feeling. It usually can be interesting but if it's enjoyable, well, that's a subjective matter. I like Mastodon very much because I like innovative music. I also listen to a lot of 70's avantgarde which I bet 90% of Mastodon listeners would hate. But from an objective point of view that music is much more innovative than Mastodon.

  • @Sunchild333 Trying to compare Frank Zappa's music to Mastodon's is like comparing apples to kumquats. You deserve to be punched and/or blacklisted from the internet for even attempting such stupidity. This is coming from a composer, by the way.

  • @Muaguana All hail the mighty composer who can read music but can't read sentences. Sigh...I don't want to waste my time on this mr. composer.

  • Dont cry because the band u worship has average guitar players just be glad the drums are beast

  • Comment removed

  • @deathlush If they are average, give us some examples of better guitar players? otherwise you are just a failing troll, and mastodont loves trolls :D

  • This Band Reminds me of a Metal vr of Rush.. I like them a lot.

  • Question deathlush, are you deaf? If you think Brent and Brian are bad guitarists I would hate to hear what you think good guitarists are.

  • @Lawliet7110 wow ur a retard

  • @Lawliet7110 wait lol wrong guy i meany @deathlush

  • @MrIhaveacat We must now duel to the death.

  • @Lawliet7110 Challenge accepted.

  • they would be a monster band if they had good guitar players thats for sure cause the drums are badass.

  • @deathlush You sir are a retard.

  • Everytime I listen to this song I actualy pass out twords the end. FUKEHN EHPICCS

  • @Makearight139

I totally fuckin' agree mate... the chorus makes my skin crawl simultaneous with an out of body experience. The same with the last verse in 'The Czar'

The part starting with the words "Spiraling up through the crack in the sky... Leaving material world behind"

  • 100. like :)

    i like!

  • The best intro.

  • y is there one person who dislikes this...... bitch

  • that looks like the same bear on the grizzly chewing tobacco tins

  • Such an epic song song. So Proggy too sounds like a lot of Rush and Metallica influence in here. Maybe some Floyd in the intro and solos too.

  • @DTPVH this band is nothing like rush at all.

  • @irontusk341 I didn't say the sound like Rush. I said they sound rush influenced. Metallica was influenced by Rush but they don't sound like them. And Nirvana was influence by 'tallica but they don't sound like either one.

  • amazing...

  • The "Falling far from grace" part makes me feel awesome; well, this whole album does :D

  • ^-^ awesome song! c:
