He went on a tour of Borders book stores to promote this album. No one at the big local Borders knew who he was! So I set them straight, and they rolled out the red carpet for him, appropriately. I told them there's hardly a greater living genius in jazz! They thought he was just some nobody.
It's like he bypasses all of the emotional walls, and goes right for the part of the heart you're most afraid to show, leaving you feeling raw, exposed, but, in the end, you're happy that you were able to feel.

Jimmy Scott moves me. He just...MOVES me.
