how does the buffer on this pedal compare to boss buffers? i picked up a made in taiwan os-2 thinking that its buffer wouldn't mess with my clean tone, but it compressed it and made it more midrangey.
the rythmic on my band uses this pedal... is a REALLY gentle overdrive pedal but when used with his jcm900 crunch channel it gets really nasty... a very nice overdrive
i had one, brand new.... sounded so very muddy and dark on my '65 Vox pacemaker '66 vox ac30 and eh on my RI Fender twin. I was really disappointed because the sound clips on the t-rex website and on here showed a gorgeous sound. Returned it, and got a second one just incase the first was defective. Same problem. Returned it and ended up with a gold MJM Blues Devil.
Great vid, but in my experience this pedal didnt sound anything close to the demo, unlike other demos which have been v.helpful.
To me, they're totally opposite. Alberta sounds like a humpy tube screamer whereas Mudhoney sounds like a warm & fuzzy OD. They're both great, though.
Alberta isnt that great

strikerfox1: maybe there's something wrong with your playing or your other gear? I've tried the Alberta and it's just as good as any demo.

That pedal sounds fantastic

Definitely as good, and as original as any Klon Centaur!

Does it blend the clean guitar signal with the distorted one? And which pedals have this feature?

@Kairou57 It is amazing to run into a overdriven amp.
And all overdrivepedals can do it, some sound better then other..

I love mine - it gets exactly what I want, not muddy at all... took a bit to dial in, and it is great now!

Most of the time I can get the same tones without any pedal. Just for the fun I customized both the drive channels of a Laney VC50 and that's all.

i don'd understand why people makes pedals that isn't true bypass. that's the only disadvantage about this!!!
rasmuspg92 2 years ago
Because if you plug with a long cable, the signal would drop!
The pedals without true bypass would be like a buffer that make the signal still full.

this is pretty sweet but that bloody mary one is pretty sweet

I would have thought the bloody mary had much more gain. I tried one and it lacked a lot of saturation capability

i guess i'd go for the mudhoney instead of this, though this unit sounds awesome aswell.
Seems to me like the mudhoney can sound like the alberta (no midhump though) and do much more, but the alberta can't do the mudhoney.
