Reminds me of one of my great-aunts at family gatherings who loves to dance. She's in her later 80s and danced w/ my brother at his wedding, then danced "solo" on the floor as other guests danced as couples. So cute. :D

Talk about insecure. Just because everyone else is paranoid about having fun doesn't mean they should feel embarassed because someone they know is having fun. I can only imagine the anxiety she caused you.

On the other hand the beauty of the situation is that she enjoys life and you have anxiety. Maybe there is a lesson to be learned and people should try to emulate her rather than mock her.
