Mark Johnson was incredible in his prime.I wish he could have faced Ricardo Lopez..(Finito) was only eight pounds lighter at the time, but that would have been a great fight. Both were awsome to watch!
I have been told, James Harris professional career 2-1 (1 k.o.) was derailed when he took a charge for his brother, who was more a promising professional fighter. Harris served time and when Harris was released, he began working the corner with his father Ham Johnson helping to guide Marks professional career. Yes Mark was special and so was James.
In the very next fight, James Harris the brother of Mark Johnson also lost to Griffith. Griffith went on to represent the US in the 88' Olympics at the 106 division. I believe he either won silver or a bronze medal in the 88' Olympics.
@mhagler91491: Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson's from my town here in DC. Both he and his brother James Harris were great amateurs boxers and became legends in this town. Both had promising careers however, they lost in the 88' Olympic box-offs in a chance to represent the US in the 88Olympic Games for the 106 pound division. Both brothers lost to the same opponent, Eric Griffith. Mark who was only 16 lost in the semis or quarters to Griffith.
