You are statistically more likely to be killed by bees, lighting, or a shark attack than by any large constrictor. Beauty really depends on the person. Look up ball python and corn snake morphs and there are many that are just...WOW.

Thats good! :D Show your dad some corn snakes, they don't get big, they're tame, very very cheap, and they come in a few different colors. Even if you were to get bit by and adult corn, trust me, it doesn't as much as you'd think. It happened to me once with a wild one.

A monkey will rip your face off once it reaches maturity and challenges you for dominance, 30-40 people in the U.S. alone die annually from dogs, and you can set off a wolf's hunting instinct to attack and kill you by simply falling. The husband owned a burmese python that was about 12 feet that he got from work. One night the python got out in the middle of the night and contricted his 2 year old daughter and ate his dog. In the morning they found the snake wrapped arounfd the infant trying to eat her. The husband stabbed the snake but by then his kid was dead. It was all over the news.

@gunspinner101 Actually, the child was killed by the parents and placed the burm in there as a scapegoat which is why both of them are in jail. There was no bite mark on the baby, and there was only a small 4-6" cut on the burm but if they cared about their baby I think they would've done a lot more to get to their kid. For the dog, that's the lack of responsibility and supervision of the owner for both animals. They had a sheet as their top for the snake tank too which is just ignorant.

@gunspinner101 I learned about it from 2 people: a worker at LB Reptiles at Repticon and a herpetologist named Chaz that I met in Pet Bazaar. But either way, like you said, it's still the fault of the owners. The python just did what is was programmed to do. Once my boa gets larger I won't let him near my cat since she's small enough to be potential prey but my dog is too big so I'm not worried for her(100lb GSD/rottie)

to answer XmaddiXrcks question: I had a specaled king snake (ok snake)...had a red tailed colombian boa (really nice snake)....but the best one I had was a Saharan sand boa....awesome snake. it gets fat and stayys under 2-3 feet. It has a shovelnose for burrowing, and it is the only snake that never bit me. took it everywhere...not recommended if you live in a cold area though.....also, garter snakes are too "all over the place" they also bite ALOT.
