  • like for 6:02

  • why two dislikes!?! D:

  • 3:50 - one tiny, subtly sad miracle...

  • What music. Makes my soul leap for joy.

  • this is the best first movement of Beethovens symphonies. Its majestic great!!!!

    The ninth is second best.

  • I begin to think he was superior to Bach : no one like him, in his time, mastered technical and emotionel impact of the symphonic orchester. He is never boring, the themes, rather than coming from nowhere, are often announced by motives played by a smaller group, and go somewhere else which appears to be quite relevant for what comes after (often a climax), etc.

OTH, many baroque composers collegues of Bach wrote sublime pieces (concertos, oratorios, masses).

I expect reactions to my post !

  • @AlainNaigeon I do love classical music! Within this "classical music", I do think that Beethoven was and will be "galactically insuperable"...! This is a romantic composer who wrote directly to GOD!

I do love classical music! Within this "classical music", I do think that Beethoven was, is and will always be this "galactically / insuperable" composer...! This is a romantic composer who composed his music for GOD!

  • @awlombana Merci bien pour avoir repondu a mon e-mail. Je m'excuse des mots que j'ai ecrit. Merci. Mon francais devient de plus en plus "tordu", car je ne le parle plus avec personne.

  • 3:50 is one of the greatest 10 seconds of sound you will ever hear.

  • @3tgiac Yes, sublimely beautiful. Good call.

  • Quite simply the greatest symphony ever written by Beethoven.

  • Start from 4:00 to link the first part

  • Bach gave us God's word, Motzart gave us God's laughter, Beethoven gave us God's fire, and God gave us music that we might speak without words.

A quote from a German opera house.

  • @BruceJC75 And who gave us the garbage "music" we hear on the radio today?

  • @numag1 I'm with you! MOST "music" on radio/media in general is utter GARBAGE! Easy Listening? CRAPOLA! How dare they call "rap" music? It's OFFENSIVE NOISE! Rap "artists"? C'mon -- the Musicians you see here are TRUE ARTISTS!! My opinion folks -- like it or lump it!

  • @kraftpr I like it!

  • It is The Concertgebouw Orchestra

  • Gênio!

  • This is the first Piece Beethoven Composed Completely deaf.

three people Don't have a soul

  • @MrMultiSeaker Exactly! What three people don't like Beethoven?

  • Certified Intergalactic!

  • Of all the conductors I've heard, Kleiber is the greatest interpreter of Beethoven's genius.

  • May I ask, and forgive me if it has been answered (I couldn't find it), but which orchestra is this? The Concertgebouw or Bavarian State?

  • @darkprose Wiener

  • @bluengreen7 I should have watched it to the end of the fourth movement video. It's the Concertgebouw. But, in any case, I knew it couldn't be the Vienna Philharmonic---this orchestra has women in it, and at the time this was made, I'm pretty sure this "tradition" was still being followed.

  • horns at 6:24 - best part

  • Ahhh !

  • Absolutely and utterly magnificent!

  • Cette symphonie fût crée pour Napoléon Bonaparte. Vive l'Empereur !!

  • @anto3166 tu confond avec la 3eme symphonie ^^'

  • @777wallaby777 Ah mince !!

  • @awlombana I haven't read all comments, what follows is written to help you - your French is quite understandable !

foutoir might mean something like mess ; the verb "foutre" is an inappropriate one for fuck or ejaculate, but is often used (inapropriately) to mean confusion or flame, etc.

This said, we have all read much worse things on the net, and you will be forgiven :-)

  • Yes, I agree, 6:04 says it all.

  • There are few things better than Kleiber's conducting of Ludwig's 7th. Bravissimo, Maestro!

  • YES the trick is to go to grabyourmp3..com to download the high quality mp3 for this song.

  • No one interpreted Beethoven's symphonies better than Kleiber. End of story.

  • @yohannbiimu check out karajan in 1966 also on you tube - sublime!

  • @anadini I like more the Karajan's version, but this of Kleiber not is bad. The 2nd movement of this Simphony contains the most beautiful melody that one could heard. Forgive my bad English, but I'm Argentine an my daily language is the Castilian (Spanish of South América). Cheers.

  • @nestorcadario The 2nd movement of this Simphony contains the most beautiful melody that one could heard.

symphony... that one could ever hear - Your English may be faulty but you taste in music is spot on!

  • This is literally breathtaking. Best 7th I've ever heard.

  • We will miss this FRIEND of BEETHOVEN for a looooong time! We went to one of performances in New York and I cannot forget the peace and basolut harmony of his conducting. Bravo, Conductor Kleiber! We will miss you. You were THE BEST!!!!!

  • My favorite part is at 6:04ff, where Kleiber just stands back for a moment and looks at the players, in a state of near euphoria, as if: "listen to what you've done!"

  • this is the first thing I heard at the age of 15 before I fell in love with classical music. Thank you beethoven.

  • Veeeery very nice. I wasn't even aware of Kleiber until now :) Thanks.

At 6:04 it looks like he'd just realized that hes actually conducting an orchestra, and that he just realized it's a lovely tune they're playing :P

  • amazing music great interpretation Bravo orchestra and Kleiber

  • Wow, just love that 1st movement. What a wild ride. What the heck was Beethoven thinking!? Yahoo :)

  • 1:50 - 1:56

That was a very cheeky motion, and I love it.

Who says you cannot dance to this music!

  • ¡Brillante Kleiber!

¡Qué bueno que tengamos registros de Él!

  • Beethoven was not a philosopher, but there certainly is philosophy in his music.

  • @cvb777 he did study philosophy ;)

  • @Lity10 I agree! It's history of creation.

  • ¡Grande Maestro!

  • Incredible Kleiber! What a joy!

  • 3:38 to 4:03 is may favourite part :x

  • Brilliant. Powerful.

  • the music to enrich philosophia

  • to mathpianist93

    It was 1983

  • The best philosopher?

Maybe...I haven´t any doubt that Beethovenwas one of the most important genius of Europe at that moment, but I think that we mustn't say that he was the best philosopher...Excellent genius have lived in the History of the world, and yes, some of them were musicians, and yes, one of them was Beethoven.

  • tornerà mai Carlos Kleiber o saremo costretti a considerare per sempre geni i nostri noiosi contemporanei ???

La musica vive solo dove gli uomini sono estremi!

  • beethoven was a hero, the best philosopher ,no words , only music.

  • wow...many thanks for this!

  • can I have the complete first movement? I need it, please!!

  • Starting at 5:50 the music is amazing.

  • Starting at 0:00 from the first part, the music is amazing.

  • Kleiber grande maestro do século XX,suas regencias DIGNIFICAM o mestre Ludwig Van.

  • kleiber reminds me of myself when i really get into the music haha

  • I think this one is from 1975-1976. If so, is this with Wiener Philharmoniker???

  • if i'm not mistaken, this is the Concertgebouw Orkest of Amsterdam performing at the Concertgebouw. what a fantastic group they are...right up there with the WPO...

  • you are correct on both points

  • La musica es el verbo de dios.

  • Every time I see Carlos Kleiber conducting, I really enjoy the song/video. He really entertains and you see it in his expressions and body language he is really enjoying the moment.

  • Di lusso!

  • Genius!

  • Che Dio Benedica Beethoven per sempre. E anche Kleiber.

  • que lo bendiga

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaah nodame cantabile
