It took me about five years to finally figure out why metal guitars always sound so edgy and tinny (their guitar tones)... it's because they're so heavily down tuned that it automatically gets bassy when they do the open riffs that they have to add mid and treble to their guitar tone but unfortunately when they do higher things that would be awesome with enough bass in the tone, it just sounds shitty.
