I love DIVINE!!!!! And she is...truly...absolutely...DIVINE!!!!!!! Thank you for making this movie...John Waters and Divine are such wonderful inspirations to me.....sending so much love to everyone in this film!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!
Don't forget the French Subtitles pleeeeeaaaaaaasssssseeeeee !!!!! Think of the Fans worldwide !!!! ;-))))))))) .... So what is the situation about the documentary and the date of its release please ??? Thanks
While I do hope this movie reaches more mainstream audiences - I hope that people try to 'get it' - in my view Divine was no clown. I hope people see the richness of Divine/Glennie Milstead - his performances, nuances, comedic timing etc. Maybe comedians could learn quite a lot from Divine's anarchistic [?] 'method'?
Divine is finally being recognised - I hope the movie reaches a wider audience, to date - have there been other comedian/artist/actors that have come anywhere close to this unique and natural talent? I've not seen one. Such an original artist. In some ways it is a scandal that Divine has not gained mainstream recognition - and yet, would people really want that? Divine is a wonderful gift.
Divine and John Waters were so ahead of their time - either that they could see into the future - especially with the movie "Female Trouble!" Since the dawn of the reality tv show - there are way to many Dawn Davenports in the world! I think its time for all these "fame whores" to "die in the name of art" and just go away! I think the "no-talented" Kardashians should go first! Right behind them should be the "Real Housewives - ALL OF THEM! Will def check out this movie! Thanks for posting it!
Can't wait to see this. I was (and still am) a huge fan of Divi's films and music. When he died almost everyone I know called to console me. It was a long time ago. Hope Divine gets a whole new generation of fans.
automatpictures, bless you for doing this. About time someone had the good taste to make a quality documentary about Divine. Will check out your other films...
@1050ccTriumph Thank you thank you thank you! And everyone else for all these wonderful comments. We are so excited to be making this movie and your support is a great motivator!
Hope you guys checked out Jonathan Ross' "Incredibly Strange Film Show" documentary from 1988. Shot just before and after Divine's death. The best documentary about Divine so far I reckon because it skipped the sentimentality. John Waters kept a brave face but was so visibly upset in this documentays. As always, John keeps smiling but for a few seconds you could see what he really felt. Anyway... Looking forward to it guys, hope you do it justice!
Just a wonderful event to look forward to. I am so inspired by the stories here of those who met Devine. I will have to satisfy myself with adding the DVD to my small collection of 10 that I have so far unearthed which feature this great, committed and beautiful actor.
Thank you, Thank you and Thank you. I met this wonderful creation at the Trocadero in San Francisco late 70's early 80's ( I believe she was doing a show called “Woman behind Bars”, I think that was the name) and my friend went up to her said “You look beautiful" and she spat on him!! We loved it! That and this kind of crowd gets harder to find. But the originality still will be inspired by Divine and all her Divinity!!!
So happy my friend Divine getting this great recognition, proud to have been his friend and loved working with him in WOMEN BEHIND BARS and so proud to be included in this documentary. Beverly Bonner

Divine was called "The Drag Queen of the Century." He appeared in several low-budgeted films that were no good, in ehich he played female roles.

Um. WHY do you have a Maroon 5 song in the trailer? Divine would just die ... if she weren't already dead.

Love this trailer, but the sound levels need to be adjusted. The narrative is getting a bit drowned by the music, especially at the beginning.
