Volume indicates that a lot of trade has occurred at that/those particular price(s). Once price returns there why do traders not buy since these particular prices have given opportunity for traders to buy previously?

Or is it a simple case where support now becomes resistance?

The POC tends to become a res area once the bearish sentiment takes over b/c there's a glut of volume in that area and it becomes something like a bottleneck - ie it either slows traffic or halts its movement.
