this movie is more than an action film. its about friendship, love, betrayal, gold and lots of hand guns. such an emotional movie but at the same time so intense and entertaining. this reaches beyond a gangster movie. great film

In Hong Kong was the time for The Killer and many many others action movie whit heart and passion, in hollywood at the same time was coming out shit like Cobra and so on. Hong Kong meets Segio Leone!! There is one scene which reminds me on A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS the scene when the cop want to pick up his weapon and everytime he comes close to it it blows away by gun fire!! Awesome atmosphere its like western in eastern ^^

i also rented this from blockbuster and thought it was awesome! it had a really cool spaghetti western feel to it.

definitely worthy among the ranks of honk kong classics like hard boiled etc.

Yeah the characters aren't properly developed, but I don't mind that personally- in that respect it's definitely style over substance. Apparently a lot of the scenes were unscripted, and To just asked the actors do do whatever. Even they weren't sure how he was supposed to make a film out of it (according to the interviews anyway). I love the chemistry between them, especially in the second part. Anthony Wang completely rocks this film.
