damn i really really want to learn this but this so way too complicated for me at first to understand, anyone can make a simplier tutorial or something please? :(
I have a question for you.. I fly all around the world Via the Flight Planner.
Let's say we're at FL350 and want to start our approach. For excample: New York Center tells me to decend and maintain FL270 -- FL190 -- FL110(By this time - I'm crossing over the airport. The ATC told me to LATE to decend. And yes, im decending with AP.) Can I affect this so the ATC tells me to decend earlier? Writing more.....
@IndependentIV Then, u just keep following ATC orders. Eventually, it won't be difficult to line yourself up. I did it with a 747 at Domodedovo (Moscow) without A/P or ILS. See my video.
hey very good video. its the begining to you to know how to flight a plane and also in an ils. but that plane that fsx has doesn t bring ann fmc (flight maneger computer) and doent have vnav and lnav that are extremly use in the boeings (sory of my inglish, it s not my languaje)
hello mate, nice tuorial, but i am bit confuse. did u make any mistaken on it? when u scroll down yr "gps" list you chose RW 19R ((Min: 1:01), but on (min: 1:03) you wrote 19L) why? thanks
Hey man great vid worked perfect but are these poms on gps available on all places cuz for a flight i was doing in canada no pom only vectors an something else Thanks
There's a specific formula that allows u to calculate the proper rate of descend based on ur speed and distance from the airport. But to keep matter simple, you can have AP do the job for u. Just turn on APR mode and once u capture the G/S the plane will automatically start to descend at the proper rate.

It's not the same, because in that case, KLAX is your destination. So you must find the ILS frequency corresponding to KLAX and tune it into your radio. The rest should be the same!
@torero34 figured I could help even though i'm new. I new enough to know that I didn't ignore ATC. I followed ATC's orders and they seemed to eventually steer me right back on course. I saved beforehand though just to be safe.
hi dude, i fly an b747-400 and i have a problem with the altitude hold switch because when i intercept the g/s, it supposed that the altitude switch disconnects automatically, but mines doesn't do that, and i have to do it manually. what i'm doing wrong?
i set the nav 1, and all of those stuff correctly i think, but the altitude switch is the only problem that i have.
sorry for my english. i hope you could help me please. thanks!!
-When you switch from the GPS mode to the Nav mode, make sure you also turn on the "APR" switch.
-Make sure you intercept the glide slope from below. If you fly over the glide slope, then you'll miss it. Once you miss the interception, then the Alt Hold button will not be disengaged automatically.
When you look at your "attitude mete" you will see two diamond shaped indicators. One is the horizontal indicator (known as the localizer) which shows whether or not you're lined up with the runway, the other one is the perpendicular indicator (known as the glide slope). Make sure your altitude is below G/S indicator, once you switch to the Nav mode and turn on the APR switch.
From what I understand, FSX doesn't have the "Autoland" feature (A feature that was apparently available in FS 2004). So, in FSX, it's really difficult to autoland the aircraft using ILS. You must have the perfect speed, descent rate, altitude, etc. for the aircraft to touch down exactly at the runway. The ILS will help you line up the aircraft with the runway and descent to the "Decision Height." Once you reach the decision height, you must disengage autopilot, and land the plane manually.
The GPS will line you up with the runway, but you must switch to "Approach Mode" and have the proper frequency tuned into your Nav-1 radio, if you want to descent to DH via the glide slope. If you stay in the "GPS Mode" you won't catch the glide slope and your aircraft won't descent.

JET ENGINES are not put on full throttle you should look into vor 1 and vor3 rollout..
you startt with 40n1 then 80n1 then finall hundred till you hit 160 knots then rollout to 20 degress pitch slowly...

Your English is just fine!
Here are some tips:
-When you switch from the GPS mode to the Nav mode, make sure you also turn on the "APR" switch.
-Make sure you intercept the glide slope from below. If you fly over the glide slope, then you'll miss it. Once you miss the interception, then the Alt Hold button will not be disengaged automatically.
Hope this helps!
bruin6082 2 years ago
thank you so much!! now i think that the problem could be because i dont intercept the g/s from below, but i'll try it below 3000 feets.
thanks again! this tutorial helped me a lot to understand the ILS.
