Well... I used to be a Christian; and god never did anything for me, not one of my prayers were answered (and I was praying to get better from an illness, not something stupid and materialistic). So, yeah. I realised that I was just talking to myself, and I stopped believeing in fairy stories and started doing shit for myself, even though I still have that illness. Wow...the fact that you can have health insurance until you're 25 is proof that God answered your prayers? I'm 23, and the same thing happened with me too. Who would've thought?
Also, another point to make: so, God answered your prayers, correct? What would you have said if nothing happened and god DIDN'T answer your prayers? Would that have meant "Oh well, it was God's will".
If it's god's will though, he's going to do what he wants anyway, so why bother praying in the first place?

Well... I used to be a Christian; and god never did anything for me, not one of my prayers were answered (and I was praying to get better from an illness, not something stupid and materialistic). So, yeah. I realised that I was just talking to myself, and I stopped believeing in fairy stories and started doing shit for myself, even though I still have that illness. Miracles are coincidences that people desperately attribute to god because they can fool themselves into thinking they prove "him".
