It is less pieces to handle when feeding the stove. Less cutting to length. I know of four farmers that do it that way. The only thing here is he is not showing how to do the whole thing in a way that is efficient fewer steps.

Take a look at the flex on some of the pieces, I would not be surprised to see a piece Snap and crack a shin at that length!!
