Load and Reload are my favorite Metallica records - I don't care what "die hard" fans say - the songwriting quality is excellent. Those two records still reveberate through almost every hard rock group since - they redefined the sound of hard rock with these records.

@famachris You are so right man, everyone trashes them but the songwriting is more complex and it has much more of a blues feeling that really catches your attention, plus you can take any metallica song and it's not near as heavy as The house that Jack built, that song is fucking amazing.

I don't agree, to me James was James up until he he entered rehab, I'm sorry to say it but the sober James is not the one I grew up with.

The 2 things that I am talking about is 1: The attitude, where is the aggression, the magic live(don't give me the ppl get old or grow up, look at ozzy)

2: the creativity,I mean come on, how can it go from no leaf clover, -human and I disappear to St.Anger? I'm not even going to say anything about death magnetic. ppl have their opinions as I have so peace :D

I think it is a good thing for him that he is doing better, however it affected the Metallica engine and in my opinion they should have ended the band. Everyone should do what is in their best interest and he loves to make music+to him and the band but I am just so tired of seeing bands deteriorate through their career.I respect them for going on and finding the inspiration to keep going.However they fail to impress me with good songs so they are now just another band to me, more a nostalgic act

All together Load and Reload were decent albums. Load had a lot of good songs going for it. I think they would have been better off if they would have combined the best songs off both the albums or if they cut both albums down to 8 songs each instead of 14. It's very difficult to listen to both of those albums back to back.

I know Load and Reload weren't metallica's hottest albums (But I really like them), but the songs they wrote, King Nothing, Until it sleeps, Hero of the day, Fuel, etc...all suited James's voice perfectly. Yay Metallica!
