ssh is so easy,

1. Download bosspreffs and open ssh

2. On computer download WinSCP

3. Enter in iPod's IP Adress found in settings>Wifi>(Your wireless connection)

4. OPen WinSCP under Host Name, Enter ipods IP Adress, in username enter root in password enter alpine.

5. Done

It's not possible. The only thing you can do now is jailbreak your iPod using the tethered version of the 2.2.1 update. If you don't know how, i have a tutorial on my page.

however i must say these mod vids are getting old, as a homebrewer whos moved from portable consoles like psp/ds ipod vids, to jailbreaking (i.e i'm new)

i just use 'iphone tunnel suite' direct usb connection to pc, no wifi needed
